In 1879, Australian outlaw Ned Kelly, along with members of his gang Dan Kelly, Joe Byrne, and Steve Hart, made bulletproof armor from plough moldboards stolen from farms and set an ambush for a police train. But the plan failed, and during the final shootout with the police, the criminals donned their armor. Despite the criminals perishing during the clash with the police, reports of the armor caused a sensation worldwide, likely serving as a prototype for the body armor of World War I.

In this...

History's Most BRUTAL Execution Method
First off if the person making it was not a complete dumbass the anatomically correct armor would be able to hold to the same punishment as male armor would and if it is sufficiently high enough quality armor it can stop bullets
Gambeson was not used with plate armor, a much thinner arming doublet was used for this. And plate armor was 3-4mm thick only on the breastplate, the average thickness was about 2mm
Such is life
Joan of Arc was convicted of and executed for cross dressing . The armor she wore was made for a young man . She was 19 years old .
Scythians were not turkic, stop stealing history, turks.
We didn’t say that the Scythians are Turks :)
@@call_of_history you not, but someone else did ✌️
Great, detailed video. Keep it up!
Why are you showing lorica segmentata while talking about lamellar armour?
Limb meta
They never adopted Brewsters armour because it was trash and you couldn't move well enough in it. Bashford Dean's armour was the good american one in development.
NO the kelly armour was not the inspiration for the body armour of WW1. ALL the nations that developed body armour in ww1 already had superior armour designs.
I saw that 1879 in a great Aussie movie "True History of the Kelly Gang". Fantastic flick Americans should love. Well some might think its 'leftist' to show a true story of poor rebels seizing stuff taking up arms against the upper class and their police of their time and place.
The Indian female anatomical armor would be appropriate for ceremonial use depicting the portrayal of warrior goddesses whose mythology is still well beloved today.
That would be amazing to see! That would be extremely ornate.
Yes
The machine gun you show definitely isn't 12.7mm, thats either a PKM or a gucci RPK
Wrong the knights Existenz before the arab invasion. They startet as roman cataphraci and became knights after the end of Roman empire. The frech May have Expanded this but they did not start it.

Soviets were fucking stupid then as Russians are fucking stupid now
Your death of a thousand uts is wrong . The real way was the victim would be wrapped in very thin wire from head to toe the wire being pulled in tight with very small gaps between each wire once they been wrapped they then used a knife to cut downward fro head to toe so it was like a + wire left to right knife top to bottom .as the wire pulled in tight it would not cut but would stop the knife from cutting too bigger slices the victim would bleed out . I guess it's painful but I'd say not the worsed . Once dead they take the wire off and there would be loads small cuts thousands ---------------------------- ---------------------------
We talk about so weapons what about warriors
my Favourite Sovjet invention was the Ekranoplan!:P
rusian are clowns😂
The image of the Chu Kingdom rhino hide armor is actually an image of the Han Dynasty's iron/steel lamellar armor. There are actually images/recreations/fragments of Chu Kingdom hide armor and it does not look like that. Furthermore, the stone armor is not for the Chinese emperor and was not actually found in his tomb. It is generic armor for a soldier of the Qin emperor, and was found in a warehouse/pit outside of the emperor's tomb in the general burial complex that is several square miles/square kilometers in area. That type of armor is seen on thousands of Qin terra cotta soldiers. The actual tomb of the Qin emperor has never been opened so nobody knows what is inside or what his armor looked like.

one of the failures of ships are the bismarck class. on may 27 1941 bismarck was sunken by artillery fire from king George v hms rodney and two cruisers, the second ship named tirpitz was staitioned at norway and was sunk on nov. 21 1944 after 3 tallboy bombs obliterated it cuasing it to capsize
I don't know, the Tu-4 was a nice design, seemed to be almost combat proven before it was built. There was a peculiar square plate on the one side of the tail that seemed more like patched up battle damage than actually having a function. Beautiful design otherwise, a vast departure from brutal designs that had been putting out. Wait...what??? Um...never mind...
plese lets not pretend gangut was the only ship that has pout fiering solutions wen fasing forwards
This would come in handy in Ukraine

Progvev-T is an electrical jamming device, they're just ugly. All those nay sayers are like HOW YOU GONNA GET THAT MUCH POWER, STUPID? ARE THEY DAFT?
It wasn't too much of a 'battle' for the Romans. It was a well planned ambush, with an ineffectual Roman governor for a leader, one who was even warned (by a Germanic chieftain) of a potential plot but chose to ignore it. Yes, it was a terrible moment for Rome, but one that was well avenged by the Roman general Germanicus, who laid waste to numerous Germanic tribes in three epic battles. Though it took a little time, Rome wanted revenge...and got it!
Carthage should have made the Roman fleet get stringed out instead of going straight at them with the Romans taking advantage of the corbus!
Русским лучше использовать свой разум для поддержания мира.

Your bunker just stepped on a landmine. Didn't expect to say that sentence today
Weird how the depleted Uranium rounds were mentioned in this context when it's only purpose is to harden the shell, it has nothing to do with anything else. It's a supporting material, it's not a "Nuclear bullet". Same way as depleted uranium is used as a hardening agent in some American tank armour packages.
Massachusetts sunk jean bart and french destroyers

7.62 nuclear warheads . You good sir need to get off CNN and read an actual history book. What would be the goal. To irradiate as much as possible that your about to run into?
