Una carrellata al Guitar Show di Padova 2024
Si inizia con la zona vintage, tanti pezzi storici e di alto valore collezionistico.
Poi stand vari, con poche novità, ma un bel numero di artigiani e costruttori con strumenti di pregio ed originali.
Qualche dimostratore (fra cui uno di 12 anni) ed un po' di curiosità.
Quasi alla fine il padiglione di vendita di Tomassone.
Buon divertimento

Test pickup Seymour Duncan Full Shred (TB-10) VS Seymour Duncan Custom 5 (TB-14) in bridge position. TB-10 is the standard choice in Charvel guitar I like TB-14, better in clean sounds and similar in distorted suonds.

Replace the hex screws with filister and the Full Shred becomes the Custom 5.
In one coil is not possible. Anyway the 2 pickup are very similar

I prefer custom 5 that is more versatile in clean sounds and light overdrive. In heavy distortion the full shred is more focused but there is not much difference

Great demo. Looks like you're running a Helix or something like it. I have a lot of experience with both of these pickups. I got my first Full Shred back in 1987, when they first hit the market, and my first Custom 5 a few years ago, although I've been using the Custom SH-5 ceramic and Custom Custom SH-11 Alnico 2 since the 80s. Of the two pickups in this demo I think the Custom 5 is most suitable to most players and situations. It's a bit warmer than the Full Shred, definitely has a better clean tone. Although the Full Shred coil splits well and gets good cleans in parallel. Otherwise, the Custom 5 is more versatile. It's a better pickup than the JB because it has more clarity. The JB is too high output for most situations. Nothing against high output pickups, but you don't need them in most situations, especially considering how much gain the average amp or moddeler has on tap.
Yes I use an Helix, in this days there is a great update. As you say, the Custom 5 is better with clean sound and it works well with distortion.
