Thank you so much for explaining this difference, I have actually been confused about this for a while. So in a way atoms that have a "3" as the middle number imply that some atom has happened already? Are there any movements you like to do that start on an X-3-X atom without being preceded by another atom?

I think the changing of the line would feel weird for me, but I love the experiment. I think by slightly different foot placement by the leader and by allowing more air in the embrace in the turning phase it would be possible to keep the follower on her line and just briefly take the leader to another line, like in a traditional boomerang

Thanks Brenda! I completely agree with the idea of having fun with the basics. A good example is Gui Prada's Fun With Basics series here on UA-cam. So in principle, I really resonate with the idea of Zouk items. However, my experience with trying to follow the videos is that the explanations and names are overly complex (for me). It feels almost like a chemistry lesson, in which I have to remember so many things about each element, and then try to combine them. This is something I can calculate with pen and paper, but not while dancing. I would love to see the zouk atoms explained in an even more attainable way.
