Obviously not electrically inclined. Is there still paint on the bottom of the cap acting as an insulator? Is there bare metal inside the cap making a good connection you the new brake fluid? Why not just take a resistance measurement of the old and new fluid?

And why would you go to all the work to do that and then add rubber and grease? A metal wedge will work perfectly and much safer. Grease and rubber make a smooth, sliding surface. I'd like to see proof after much use that this worked prior to this video being posted. As for me, I'll gladly continue using a metal wedge.

Well, you can probably use a multimeter to measure if the fluid is good but this method that I saw here and other videos is BS. 4V is NOT 4% moisture. Try to fill a metal container with tap water and make it touch with groung. What value di you get? Try also distilled water 😬. The voltage you measure between the battery and the center of the fluid is going to depend on a lot of factors. One is the shortest path between where you put the probe in the oil and ground. That will vary according where you put the probe and from car to car. Testers you buy have their own power source and they have a constant distance between the probes.
