Hi, it's Glenn, the Founder of PlayStation Nation. Now that I've retired from that podcast, I've got more time to spend on my love of Retro games. Check this spot out for some cool gameplay videos from consoles like the SNES, NES, 3DO, Neo Geo (AES/MVS/CD), CD-I, PS1/PS2, XBOX, Sega Genesis/CD/32X, Sega Saturn, Atari Jaguar, and of course the TurboGrafx 16/PC Engine/Supergrafx (and I'm sure I'll hit some other older consoles as well.) Also, find insights and recounts of experiences in gaming from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and from my experiences with attending CES in the early 90's (before E3 existed) and from testing some games in the 16-bit era.
Virtua Cop 2 (Saturn) on MiSTer FPGA using a Mouse
It's still an "unstable build" of the core, but as you can see, work is being done to add support for the Shuttle Mouse on the Sega Saturn core.
This is exciting for me because I don't have any CRT's anymore, and a few Lightgun games on the Saturn can be played this way.
The hardest part is tracking your target since the camera sweeps-around so much lol

It's still a WiP, but I'm really excited that someone is adding support for the Saturn's Shuttle Mouse to the MiSTer core! It then allows some of the lightgun games that support it to be played without the need for a CRT!

I've never felt like this was a good follow-up to the original Outrun. The track layout, at times, just doesn't feel good at all. and the soundtrack is good, but not even close to the originals'

Leo is a game that I'd really never even heard of until it was released on MiSTer a while back, and arcades in Wisconsin don't get stuff like this. It's a weird game since it's got the R-Type name, but doesn't really adhere to what you'd expect in a game in that series.

I love the series, but I've never played it on Dreamcast. I let the CPU play itself since these are usually quite difficult.

This crashes a lot on the Dreamcast/MODE, but not today. This game is pretty awesome! Loaded onto the Dreamcast via the TerraOnion MODE and played over HDMI via the DCDigital

I'm sure the title was quickly pressed in without checking again. I think this title is called "CART: Flag to Flag", known as Super Speed Racing in Japan.

About the tokyo xtreme racer on dreamcast, I’ve seen you have slowdowns on that video, do you know why can it happen? Also do you use orginal cd or burned?
It happens because it happens. This is running from the MODE, not a disc.
@@retronation1972 I really don't understand why does that happen. People in reviews always saying it runs perfectly for them, without any slowdowns. But it's not like that for me, maybe my console is overheating because of fake CD, or my laser lens is just bad.
@737-d8q your overthinking, slowdown happens. It's either how it's developed, a hardware limitation, or something like that 🤷

It might be the image files that you're using
Is there a way to turn down the sound effects so that they don't overpower the add-inmusic?
I'm not sure if you can adjust the volume with the MSU1 stuff, I'd have too look
4 players looked like a CBS show Survivor.

4:20 - music used on level one of the NES game kicks in here. The PC engine has more muscle for audio, but it's amazing how far Sunsoft took the NES rendition.
The M1 & BAR both have zoom aim up n down on the Cross hair or d pad.
When it's switching with the upgrade u have unlimited ammo so u can keep shooting at your adversary.
This game was so bad. Lmao ppl acting like its a gem wtf?! The camera angles were absolutely terrible in this game. 1/2 the time the camera didnt even catch the action. One of the worst baseball games growing up…
Name a better Baseball game that was available in that timeframe? It genuinely is one of the best for the time, and it's still a wonderful game of Baseball 🤷
The mister core has a Error. At Arcade when you hit the sword you hear the voice PahPahPah. I Miss this at the Mister core.
It's not NEC that screwed up this port, but Dice Creative (the developer of this port). This port was infamous for its protracted development. The game was originally planned to being released on the SuperGrafx. But then they decided to plan to release the game on Super CD-ROM format. And finally they decided to release the game on Arcade CD-ROM format. The game requires the Arcade Card, for its high quality pre-rendered graphics on cutscenes and for the new extra desert stage.
Yeah this looks better, but another thing I noticed is the text at the bottom of the screen in the Menus (B Return A Enter) looks kinda messed up, like hard to read for some reason. And also is the image slightly zoomed in too much? In gameplay it looks like the edges of the screen are cut off a bit. Not sure if that's a RT5X setting or something.
I'm not zooming it in at all, just using the 16:9 Generic Setting. I looked around, but I wasn't finding any specific settings to change for GameCube on the Tink 5X.
I think that's UA-cam messing with it. It doesn't look like it's done processing even though it's telling me that it's done. It looks very different from the source.

Hi I still unable to get it work perfectly... Whenever there is a scene change my monitor will just show a black screen for 3-5 second before showing anything. It's damn irritating especially when there is a quick time event as I am unable to see anything and will always missed it. I am using a pc monitor connected to my mister any tips to get it working?
You need to update it and make sure the correct Region is selected for the ROM/Image
@@PSNationTorgo I am already using the latest update_all version 2024-03-23. Tried all region but nothing works...
@@ratchetclank9474 that's all I can tell you, it also depends on which game that you're trying since compatibility is in the 90 percentile reportedly.
Hi found a solution to my issue. Changing vsync_adjust on MiSTer.ini from 2 to 1 fixed it.

Hi friend, I did the procedure of applying the MSU 1 patch, it worked, but when I apply the SA 1 patch I get an error, and if I do the reverse procedure I don't get the MSU sound from the arcade like you did?

What were your sampling timings used when recording this?
Oh God, I don't remember that 🤣 I think it was the profile I had for the Dreamcast since I was using VGA 🤷

This looked, animated and sounded way better than NES Baseball we got as kids here. Some call the PC Engine an 8-bit console, but boy can it put out graphics that the NES or even the Sega Master System can never do.

Lol, yup, I have a wired 360 controller on that MiSTer, and I use a Stadia controller via Bluetooth on the other.
I wonder if the core will ever feature netlink support.
