@@Spicycomment1 So it's difficult to make a recommendation. Feelings are very subjective and the question is always what do you really need. I also enjoy the aesthetics and the different appearance of the devices. There are many Sansui devices that are perfectly adequate for normal private listening. You can only miss something if you can compare and know your own music very well. A Sansui Seven, for example, plays very well, an Eight perhaps even better. The Sansui AU 9500 is a great integrated amplifier and looks very elegant. The 9090 has many setting options and plays with enormous power. A very nice vintage device. My favorites remain the CA and BA 3000. Sansui has never built anything much better. Are you planning to buy a Sansui and are unsure? Which Sansui are you looking at?

@@Steve-bz7vm thanks, i had a sansui au-555a 10 years ago and plan to return to that brand, but it was low power. I juste dont know if i should go for a 999, a 9500 or BAxxx which are much more expensive and rare in good condition. I need 50w minimum but Wonder if 999 will bé more refined than 9500?

@@Spicycomment1 both amplifiers you suggested are great. In terms of watts for volume, both are completely sufficient, you will hardly notice any difference. When tuned, the 999 sounds a little more like a tube amplifier. I had that too and it was a lot of fun. A very good combination is also the BA 2000 + CA 2000 or the AU 11000A integrated amplifier. Which speakers do you have? These three mentioned are still reasonably affordable here in Germany. The prices for Sansui have risen enormously in the last 3 years. Where do you come from? So look for one of the devices mentioned in very good optical and technical condition and you will have a lot of fun with it. Of course there is always something going up :0) Even if it can be a receiver, the 8080 is already very impressive.

They are both very good speakers. I think you wouldn't miss anything with either one. The B&W 703 was an extremely good speaker for the price. I wanted to have a complete vintage set and I liked the Onkyo both visually and musically. It's just a hobby 😁

I can't entirely agree with that. The quality of the preamplifier and the power amp, especially the preamplifier, definitely plays a role. Yes, in the end a certain sound image is created through the interaction with the speakers. But so many things play a role: the placement in the room, the room acoustics, the distance of the speakers from the listening position, to the back wall, etc. It's a different listening experience with each compilation. For example, I can currently partially feel the drums with my large ONKYO 2000x monitors, similar to a concert. I can't do that with my small monitors, even though they otherwise display a lot of space and details. Let's just be happy about what comes out at the end of the chain and reaches our ears ;o)

Ma tornando al discorso e limitandolo alle elettroniche (pre e finale), tecnicamente parlando nessun pre e nessun finale deve avere un suono "proprio". La loro funzione è quella di ricevere e amplificare un segnale che arriva da una fonte (giradischi, CD, tuner etc...etc...). È vero che anche il pre e il finale sono opera dell'uomo. Ma un buon progettista, se parliamo di hifi non deve "colorare" il segnale. Deve in definitiva amplificare nel modo più neutro possibile un segnale. Il suono in ultima analisi, quello che ascoltiamo è opera degli altoparlanti.Un saluto dalla Urbis Aeterna.

That sounds like a lot of equipment. What do you currently have and are you happy with it? As a hi-fi enthusiast you are always on the lookout, but in the end the differences between the good old devices and the new ones are often only small. Some time ago I decided to use vintage devices...

No, I sold this BA 2000 a few years ago. I currently use a Sansui AU 11000A and a combination of Sansui CA 3000 + BA 3000 as a second hi-fi system. Nothing more is actually possible 😁. In Germany you can occasionally buy the combination Sansui CA 2000 + BA 2000. These are the individual components around AU 11000 A.

For my taste, the combo works very well. The old Sansui amps deliver good power (power consumption 915 watts) and also have a somewhat warmer sound. I like the good old sound of the 70's and 80's. Also check out the second new video with Dire Straits
