If you just watch though all of her scenes with Nathan, it is very clear the depth of their friendship and love. They are so in tune with each other and connected in every way. It's easy to get distracted by Lucas because he is always pursuing romance. Big gestures, purring voice, romantic lines. The problem is that Elizabeth doesn't even like that over time, it has no depth, they have no real friendship, romance is not all that you need in a long term relationship, and he was always pushing her into taking steps that she really was not ready to take. It was more aggressive, whereas Nathan gave her time to work through things and decide what she was comfortable with. It's far more obvious though when you watch all of the Nathan and Elizabeth scenes together because Lucas is very distracting. Also, Elizabeth with Lucas kind of drives me nuts 😂 her high pitched, "Lucas!" was pretty annoying 😂

Nathan looks so much more relaxed and happy now. They both do. This couple will move forward with many great stories to tell. You know at some point there will be battles between Allie and Jack as there are between all siblings. Those should give us some comic relief.

Let's face it, Lucas/McNally would not be a hard man to kiss. However, it did seem that the kisses between him and Elizabeth, were more choreographed. I think she was trying to convince herself, as well as him, that this relationship was what she wanted. With Nathan, the kisses are far more connected and sensual.
