Instead of bringing them one by one during trial. So all parties file all processes and evidence and serve on the other party at the start of the case. This is a new system that was adopted in Nigeria about two decades ago.

It's purpose is to bring all documents before the court and the other party at once, to avoid springing surprises or delaying trial.

@@expressionsofthemind2.0 yes. Final address contains the final arguments after the witness testimony and exhibits have been taken during trial. At the point of address, they are already before the court and so counsel may refer to them to make his point.

@@lawalahmad2567 so usually, a defendant makes a statement to the police, which is what is now required to be recorded, then he is brought before the court to be cross examined whereby he can repeat the same things he already wrote or resile from what he wrote. Most times, defendants resile and claim they were forced to write what they wrote, that is why the requirement for audio visual recording came in to eschew trial within trial. However, notwithstanding what he has written at the police station, he still has to to be led in evidence to give oral testimony, if it tallies with the written and audio visually recorded statement, it will have the same effect. It is when it differs that the court will have to find out the truth by trial within trial. So both the oral confession and written statements will have the same effect from now on given the requirements for audio and video recording. I hope it's clear. @@shokunbiahmed a guarantor will always be liable. If it is a parole contract it may be difficult to prove but once proven, a guarantor is liable. Most guaramteeship agreements are sometimes infused into the contract between the lender and borrower, not necessarily a separate contract.
