This recording shows your usual high level of skills at remastering. I assume from the recording date that this was remastered from a 78 rpm record, which makes the quality all the more remarkable. I'm having hearing problems lately, so I will have to revisit this in a month or so when I get hearing aids.

Dave Hurwitz sent me here, and I'm glad he did. The pairing of Haendel and Boult is wonderful, the tempos are slow but you hardly notice that.

I bought the complete set of these on Westminster Records when I was in high school. I still have not heard these performed to this perfection since then - even though they are quite popular today. Spirited interpretations that are so much fun to listen to - that I want to hear them all right away. Thanks for posting these for everyone to relish and enjoy

I love Janacek’s very individual style. Amazing work not often performed however looking forward to Jakub Hrusa conducting the Czech Philharmonic at the RAH/London this August, the ideal venue for this large scale composition.

This is THE reference recording of this work. Milstein “owns” it. Too bad it doesn’t get programmed anymore. It’s one of the most underrated concertos for violin. It takes a rare artist like Milstein to make it come alive. Thank you for sharing this recording! 🙏🏻🎻

This is one of those recordings that makes so many others pale in comparison, I listened to this for so long but lost my mp3 player that it was on, I searched through so many recordings for many years afterwards and was so happy to rediscover it. It was like coming home when I found it again

Eine sehr schöne Aufnahme, habe sie auf Schallplatte (Hallmark HM 524), hört sich nach all den Jahren immer noch gut an, Danke fürs hochladen. Zuletzt wurde die 9te in Wien im Musikvereinssaal gespielt (6.5.2024, Leitung: Ricardo Muti), genau 200 jahre nach ihrer Erstaufführung..nachörbar auf oe1.orf.at (noch 3 Wochen in orf.sound.at) Auch die oben angezeigte Mondscheinsonate bekam ich als Erbschaft meiner Großtante (*1923 -2024), die Pianistin darauf war Margaret Sandberg (Opus, TW 806), ebenfalls eine sehr schöne Aufnahme.

Wow!Moeran structures this and it wins you over on a first listening. More meat than Delius perhaps. Moeran really has a voice. In the 20th century genius and hardwork unless its in science will not reap dividends. There are just too many angels now!!!I hear visionaries not just consummate techniques everyday at competitions many will never be heard outside the small nexus of university concerthalls. And thats how the cat ate da burlap pursehorn!
