I thought you were going to walk down that tree at 1 moment. That weedeater is a beast.
Great video Andrew
Powerful machine, i like this machine
I have a special needs daughter that loves weed whacking videos especially longer ones WITHOUT music or commentary. They seem to be one of the only things she has to keep her chill these day, For an extended period of time that is.Any videos you post with weed whacking similar to this video. I can guarantee we will watch at least a thousand times and from start to finish. We’ve already subscribed and appreciate your video and any you make in the future. My daughter is 38 with the brain of a 5 year old, needless to say,Your weed whacking videos along with others I can find out here are one of the only things that keeps her calm and provides me with a few moments of much needed sanity/breathers. Thanks again and god bless.
Glad I could help. god bless.

I think a two stroke in the 30-32cc range is a good al-rounder. Small enough for lawns etc. and big enough for everything else. I know Shindaiwa make one but I have a cheaper one, a Ferrex. It's been powerful enough for everything I've thrown at it. But I got the Stihl 131 Kombi system so looking forward to trying it out on a big job.
The FS131R IS A POWERFUL MACHINE!!!
Best review!
Does it feel different from a 2 stroke one?
yes, there is way more power and less time for it to speed up, it will go through anything.
@@andrewneilsen1516 sometimes i wonder why there is not a bigger 4t avaiable. A 60cc 4t would be great!
@@andrewneilsen1516 usually gardeners remove the lowest part of the stone protection so that the wire can poke out of it, it can be as long as you want so 1)you can use all the torque2) much wider area covered 3)tangential speed of the wire much higher result in mulching effect even on though grass, of course the wire can't be too long, i recommend 25 cm per part if it is a 3.0 , 28 if it is 2.4 or lower, even 30- 32 if it is a 2.0. Give it a try!(maybe with the oregon nylium starline wire)
I'm using a 131 r for edging round houses and a fs 250 i completely rebuilt for open areas i can't get with mowers
if that could handle the .105 line that well id bet it could handle .130.
I own an off-road park. 500 acres. We do a ton of weed wacking. I have 4 of these we run the .130. Takes down stuff my little husky’s would need a blade on
i had a property half that size last night with a 21cc trimmer. the echo smr-225... what a bitch, im buying a kombi 131 tonight just for big jobs like that
Echo 3020 will put that valve rattling stihl to shame.
In reality the km 111r is all you need that’s what I use I’ve never bogged it down
@@DoctorRickSanchez got that right.
I have the km 131r and it seems to over rev even under load at half throttle. I wish it had a longer throttle pull.
yea there really isn't much variation in speed. I use this trimmer mostly just for big clean ups and heavy duty field work. I really don't like edging or doing delicate work with it.. its too hard too control. I use my battery string trimmer for lawns and stuff.
@@erike7297 Yea, I think im gonna put a new carb on my old echo for around the house.
Yea I’ve noticed the 111r is touchy too I will be getting a 94 or a srm 225 as a backup trimmer
is this your only trimmer, im having a hard time deciding whats my best value, the 131/111/91 and then theres the 94 thats a totally different design not requiring valve maintenance or the risk of valve failure and much lighter but will it do the work i need
I think if you're not cutting super tall grass the 91 is good. the 94 is better for small work. you can taper off the throttle more with a two stoke rather than the 4 mix.
I’d get the 111r it’s rated for commercial use I’ve had it for 1 year now all I’ve done is adjust the valves so it cranks one pull
@@tc1254 ended up with the 131r, buy once cry once, definetly glad i didnt get anything smaller i manage to use all the power this thing can provide and wouldnt mind a touch more, the shaft, gearing and everything are remarkably tough ive been beating it pretty hard with a 3 edge blade into trees, bushes, and brush clearing property lines for hours on end no issues
Very nice truck , I want this!
Nice video. What brand of 105 line were you using. Most break when trimming larger diameter stems. Yours held up well I thought. Here is a link to a shredder blade that I have been using for a couple of years now. It cuts on two planes , horizonal and vertical, and so is able to shred into smaller pieces. It will speed up your jobs like this one in your video. www.amazon.com/Podoy-Universal-Trimmer-Brushcutter-Replacement/dp/B07P95615H/ref=pd_sbs_86_4/145-7761777-9052850?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07P95615H&pd_rd_r=490e762a-ebe2-4865-b7df-5469aa0a5233&pd_rd_w=YLhlm&pd_rd_wg=JQMMO&pf_rd_p=52b7592c-2dc9-4ac6-84d4-4bda6360045e&pf_rd_r=YH8KKJB82SQ187MRZV04&psc=1&refRID=YH8KKJB82SQ187MRZV04
I was using STIHL 105 line.
@leonardo migot great for WA blackberry bramble.
which kind of string are you using to cut all that thick weed ? Thanks
105 line. Thanks for your interest!
@@andrewneilsen1516 yw, I got it a couple of weeks ago and my friend Paolo was the one actually inaugurating it at work
i am looking to purchase the same unit. i know its powerful but could it handle a blade to cut small sapplings? also can you feather the throttle to cut around house and property's? i heard that the 4 mix engine is way more responsive compared to a 2 stroke. i was looking at the fs240 but it was like 100$ more for 1cc plus it never has any rebates on them. i can't justify spending 100$ more just for one cc and a less performing engine.
yes!,use a stihl blade. you can feather off but not as good. we mostly do around the house stuff with it and it works just fine. :)
@@andrewneilsen1516 thanks alot i will be contacting my local stihl dealer to purchase one! they are on rebate now i think!
Actually the 240 is 200.00 more. 399.00 to 599.00 and 4 lbs heavier than the 131
Yes i cut a whole bunch of trees and woods with mine not long ago
Cool video. i thought you were going to try wearing your jeans over your rubber boots though? Stops the snow from entering your boots that way.
Yeah... I forgot lol
I would leave it in one spot until the water became white tbh
Niceeee
Are you still liking the 131 I'm thinking about getting one
i love It! It has the most torque and power out of any trimmer i've used . I recommend it !
@@andrewneilsen1516 can this do edging haha
Yes. Very well!
@@andrewneilsen1516 was using the 91 bike handle, the difference to the 70 is amazing. It has cut so much hassle out of clearing
The fs 70 r is great for quick cleanups
It was actually pretty painful to watch
good work!
