One of the last good tractors made by flcraftsman I’ve sold this one and have moved on I bought 2 wheel horses recently within the last 4-6 months one is almost restored the other original and I mow with it Ill take an old John Deere or wheel horse simplicity etc over this but it was a cool tractor and I don’t have room for them all

@@hunter7476 Agreed. If I had to choose I I’ve course would pick a jd 318, or a cub cadet 782, or something like that. But they are an amazing budget machine. And definitely a nice addition

Just be patient and make sure that you have everything clean and assembled together properly I got dad to help so he double checked everything when I rebuilt this carb and fuel pump that was years ago

I don’t know it off the top of my head I would have to look at it it’s a 2.5hp engine is there soemthing more specific I can help you with ? Like an air filter or a carb kit

@@jonathancall9967 I’ll try my best to help you out do you have any of the shrouds for your engine ? I will have to go and get this engine and look at the numbers if you need them but I have a very busy schedule so I’m not sure if and when I’d get them to you

Also this tractor is currently getting g the deck rebuilt and restored then I’ll be painting some of the tractors major parts as I’d like this to be a sturdy workhorse not necessarily a show tractor I have a new seat for it and new belts and idler pulleys and the engine was serviced

I just got her all fitted with waits and the snow blower and the plow so she is ready to go I had new hydraulic hoses made for the plow and the blower was in good shape

Thanks this one seems to do well in the cold so far my cub with the Kohler magnum doesn’t like it so much but then again this John Deere sits in the house garage and the others sit in a metal shed so it’s colder

Thanks I like them as well I baby it so much and honestly am afraid to use it just because I’m afraid I’ll break something but I found this one and was instantly thinking that’s the one this is all original and is from 1992 and it’s the last year it’s really clean for sure I’ll soon make another video on it

@@hunter7476 yeah she’s beautiful. I know that feeling of babying your tractor. My John Deere sleeps outside under an overhang, but I literally have 4 layers or tarp over it because I don’t want to ruin er.

@@diesel_dude08 hey you gotta use whatever you got I’m happy that I have a small shed it’s not big but it holds all of them I’m looking into getting an older wheel horse 1077 automatic drive mower so I’ll definitely make a video on that if I get it it’s on an auction so you never know

I had to take the muffler off to work on the motor and it sounded like broken glass inside but the baffles are all rusted so it’s basically straight piped but I’m not complaining it does sound good and you can’t beat the price unfortunately it needs a pro clutch it puts out 24.5 amps and should be 5 or less lol

Yep had a lot of wet grass underneath the covers so I had to remove all that other wise that deck could rot out

I got the craftsman and the cub cadets since then I have gotten more and sold some

@@diesel_dude08 it was made because I believe that the only motor that so be allowed is a v8 and when I become president there will be only v8 motors and they will cost $100,000 per square inch

They are out there you just have to keep in mind the hefty price and the condition of the tractor you probably will have a hard time getting attachments if the are not included with the tractor

@@Farmtractor I had to look for over a few years to find one this is all original and in great condition with low hours it has 6 40 lb suitcase weights that go in the rear weight bracket for the 3 point

The belt for the mowers deck or the tractor itself for the wheel control

Only problem is that it had been jam packed with mice and needed a deep cleaning now it just needs a soap and wash after we get the engine problem fixed it runs weird and pops think the valves need adjusting because these engines love to need the valves adjusted regularly

@@hunter7476 yep, people will throw anything away. I am working on a simplicity sovereign right now, got it running good but unfortunately the gearbox is bad so I'm going to have to replace that

@@ducttapenzipties well it turns out the engine is making some odd noises but I’ll ride on and see what happens I am looking at buying a John Deere 420 was at my John Deere dealer and got parts for the la and saw a nice 420 up on the hill soon to be for sale how much should I buy it for what’s a good price I should pay don’t want to pay much but not enough and I won’t get it

@@hunter7476 I'm not sure on the 420, I don't see a lot of them local to me. When I do see them they are usually around $500-$800 in decent shape

I am pretty good with them I’ve been able to make my 8hp tecumseh snapper mower engine rub good it still floods because I need to change needle and seat my 8hp tecumseh snow blower works good I also sold a late 60s snow blower with tecumseh engine rebuilt carb runs great even my rototiller I have at least 7 tecumsehs all except the one run good I still need to fix the new snow blower I got it wants to run away and blow up the government is all screwed up on that thing lol

Thanks it’s a beast of a machine it can pull a load let me tell ya it has creep drive and toes lots of stuff no problem I’d like to build a hydraulic tow lift and make it into a tow truck to tow mowers around

Yeah I agree it’s a good running machine i have hardly ever had to do anything by wrong other than getting it running and cleaning it soon I will be washing and waxing it
