My first video! Also the first episode of the Sunday Format, a BBC comedy about a sunday newspaper. This episode was released on the 19th Feb 1999.
Just brilliant so pleased to hear this again
Sooo good!
As a former Observer (or the Independent on Sunday, from time to time) reader, I always thought this was spot on - though I wonder if readers of other newspapers would say this was mocking *their* paper.
Thank you a decade later. As a licence payer I always greatly appreciate the BBC's attitude to giving us access to archive programming.
Just binge listened to both series. As good as when first broadcast, love the satire and absurd wordplay. Thanks for making this available again.
Sublime. The most underrated radio comedy ever. 'As the millenium approaches'....
Sheer genius. Why this isn't better known is beyond me.
Does anybody know the identity of the music cue they use for the spoon segment (starting at 22:46)? It's been used in a number of segments, and I find it very haunting and enjoyable.
Angus Wilson is on holiday.
what's this bollocks you lying twat
Please, does anyone know what the minimalist music is at 9:24 ?
Thank you. Came across the show by chance the other day... Luckily found these! How many series were there?
Thank you so much - just discovered this and can't physically manage to breathe for laughing.
Fantastic! Please consider uploading these files to archive.org - lots of other fantastic R4 comedy there, and utterly unavailable elsewhere....
If anyone knows the names of the songs used for each page, besides gorecki's sympohony of sorrowful songs, please let me know!
Unsquare Dance - Dave Brubeck
Has the Blair bubble burst..?
Thanks so much for posting.
So funny thanks so much for posting.
my god i haven't heard this since 2001! but it's all still so familiar.
Thanks a lot for posting. Very funny and clever.
Sheer genius - I can listen to these over and over again and never get bored. Among the best, and most underrated of BBC comedies.
"Grand Saucisson Garcieux in a Huntsman's Jerkin" may be one of the greatest things ever broadcast.
I couldn't agree more. Thanks a million for posting this.
good ep
Your generosity for sharing this is just surpassed by your awesomeness. Thanks a million times for this. I've been looking for this all over the net.
Marmite buttocks. The rise of the codpiece.
wow
Utterly Brilliant
Thanks so much for uploading these; have been looking for the Sunday Format for years, literally! Had only heard one episode on the BBC until I found these.
Your welcome , it's nice to see people enjoying this stuff. Too bad you can't find it anywhere else.
Thanks so much for uploading these - I thought it was the funniest radio comedy of all time, and it's just as good as ever on relistening.
What's great about this programme in that it's so GOOD. It's really very good indeed.
Your welcome :)
Your welcome :). I'm planning to upload series 2 as well.
