Isaiah Burridge - One More Cup (Official Audio)
Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
I know it was a long time ago
But I can still here my father say
Boy, are you going to get up
And have coffee with me today?
I'd say yeah dad
I suppose I'll have a cup
You know we don't get to talk much
We better make it up
(Chorus)
We'd solve the world's problems
And talk about our plans
He'd tell me war stories
About working with his hands
Out of all the things I'd like to relive growing up
I wish I could have one more cup
(Verse 2)
Now, no man is perfect
He did the best that he could
If I could tell him that
You know I would
Sometimes I wonder
If he's looking down on me
Or does he know
I still have have my morning coffee
(Chorus)
We'd solve the world's problems
And talk about our plans
He'd tell me war stories
About working with his hands
Out of all the things I'd like to relive growing up
I wish I could have one more cup
(Bridge)
Can you see me now?
Have I made you proud?
How much do you miss us?
Do you walk with Jesus?
(Verse 3)
On Sundays in February
And for the rest of the year
We'd turn on the race
And for the last lap we'd cheer
You said to choose one driver
And you'd stick with #24
I chose the #11
And I'm still keeping score
(Chorus)
We'd solve the world's problems
And talk about our plans
He'd tell me war stories
About working with his hands
Out of all the things I'd like to relive growing up
I wish I could have one more cup
And when Christ calls me home
And I get to come up
I look forward to our first cup

I always wind the whole string without cutting it and whenever the string breaks, I unwind the string, fix it and reuses it. If it breaks at the neck, I reverse the string so that the modified extended part is fed through the tremelo bar. This is great for practice guitars. When recording, then I replace with new strings, but save the old strings to be reused. Saves on buying hundreds of dollars worth of strings every year. If I were to do live gigs, which I don't and will never do, I would also replace with new strings. Either case, if strings are fairly new and only played a few times, I do not replace the strings, but if the guitar has been sitting unplayed for months on end, strings should be checked if they are dead. To prevent dead stings, loosen strings before storing the guitar. Clean strings after every use on any guitar used for recording or gigs to prevent them from becoming dead too quickly and loosen them each time after use which is easier to retune than to change strings. Practice guitars could be neglected from being cleaned if one chooses to and left in tune ready to jam with at any given moment. But it is good to clean the strings on the solo lead practice guitars. Rhythm practice does not really need clean strings and could perhaps even be dead strings unless experimenting with new techniques which requires listening to the full string dynamics.

@@commie22 thank you! It's all about the voicings and knowing what notes to leave out. On the G chord, I mute the 3rd on the A string and often don't pick the little E I do the same thing with the D chord. I leave out the 3rd. So, they're basically open string power chords. Angus and Malcolm Young used them a lot. . 3x003x

A better way is to point the slack downwards then wind over the slack spiralling downwards, this means your strings will have a better downward angle from the nut to the tuners and provide better tension and tonality as well as stay in tune.

Best way to keep tuning is stretching your strings and re-tuning multiple times over. However you wrap it on the tuning machine is not as important as how the strings sit and how sharp are the exit points on your nut and saddle. This wrapping method works just fine. Stretch your strings, that's the key. People love blaming their tuners for their lack of effort.

  • @rossdonald594

This is a shortcut, but sadly you are introducing a twist in the string which is not desirable. The better way is to wind the machine head which does take a few seconds longer, which ensures there’s no twist in the string.

    • @isaiahburridgemusic
      @isaiahburridgemusic 5 днів тому

@@Fartmaster200 it most certainly is an old wives tale. It's a very nonsensical myth. It's necessary to take all the strings off at once and take care of your guitar neck and things of that sort. The truss rod will go back to the same position once you put strings back on. It will only change if the string gauges change. It's all about how much tension is being put on the neck by the strings. I never have to adjust my truss rod over a basic string change. Only when major changes have been made.
