Paper Thin - John Hiatt with Sonny Landreth
The best. The absolute best song writer and band in the country right here right now! Thank you
He needs to be on larger venues like he was with Joe B! 🙏🐦
🙏🏼🎶🙏🏼
❤
John still has his voice. This sounds great.
I no his dad is so proud of his son
He sounds like his father
Why can't people shut up and listen?
sometimes, it just sounds so good you gotta shout :p
you're missing the point hater
I think that's why he sang the first verse twice. He had to get their attention, then they listened.
Just so you know about 1000 views are from me 😂
John Tortorella on drums??!!
Awesome..he sounds fantastic
Landreth has a most interesting technique, yeah?
From another South of I-10 boy ❤️🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸❤️
Do it Sonny 🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸
To Bob Marshall--who sent me a mixtape w/ this song on it. Both the disk and him are gone. Salud!
Willie Nelson has a wonderful son 🥰 with a wonderful voice 🥰🥰🥰🥰
A national treasure..., how is this amazing talent not in the R&R HOF.., they may as well bolt the doors, as his omission makes it a farce...
Thanks! Good to see him still laying it down.
This man’s bookshelf should be full of awards and it’s not yet! That bothers me! WHO doesn’t love this type of music! He’s on another level!🎤🎵🎶🙏🏾🤟🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Agree 100%. I can’t believe he’s not already a superstar.
Are you kidding me? Who doesn't love Haitt ??
Just saw him live for the first time in wilmington and my god it was amazing
I love this song! And yes, Jimbo is missed, but we support the backups and him 🩵
That's definitely not Jimbo Hart on bass.
Anna Butters.
Jimbo?
Any chance you filmed anything else in Lagrange? Would love to see it if so.
Yes. Several songs. Cast Iron Skillet. Vampires. Cover me up. Maybe a couple of others on UA-cam.
John Hiatt and The Goners!
First I heard of Allen Stone was tonight on American Idol!! I feel like I struck gold!! OMG - what a voice! And what a beautiful soul - really and truly!!! I'm trying to decide which album to buy - leaning towards 'Building Balance' and will buy some singles I love, also. Can't wait to hear his new song coming out tomorrow called 'Magic'! I've listened to so many of his songs tonight - I've even danced to some songs, and I'm an old lady - lolol! But I used to be a dancer before my accident, but Allen brought dancing back for me! I'm one happy senior citizen, I can tell you that: )
Enjoy Alan Watts music hes one of a kind
I’ve loved this song for at least 23 yrs!!! Thanks for sharing. He sounds good!!😍
I could listen to Allen all day❤
I pretty much do.
That would be John Hiatt & The Goners!
Goners? The dude is still out there playing! And he still sounds better than all the young fakes.
@@RobNC-OG Ha, I know im a big fan. Sonny Landreath, Kenny Blevins and David Ranson are "The Goners". They cut several albums with Hiatt 20yrs ago. Every so often they get together for a brief tour.......
There's a similar acoustic version of this song on his Instagram that is incredible. Unfortunately it's significantly shorter but that doesn't stop me from looping it over and over.
🌞
Allen Stone is truly one of the most underrated talents in the musical world.
Probably my favorite vocalist on earth, and it’s been like for nearly a decade. So much passion and honesty in the man’s voice, not to mention the soul and range
I got introduced to him years ago at an Andrew McMahon/OAR and he absolutely blew me away with his passion for music and performing, not to mention his incredible voice. Been a fan ever since.
the orign is from the Young Rascals the first blue eyed American/Italian soul bands
True the songwriter is not Stevie Wonder, but it wasn’t the Young Rascals either. It was 2 Motown writers named Ronald Miller and Bryan Wells. Stevie Wonder released his version in 1966, and the Rascals released a cover version in 1967 on their “Groovin” album.

Woof !!!
Love this. I saw Uncle Al in Philly. Loved every single second. This musical gem is so undercelebrated! 🔥 ❤️
Thank you.
You're welcome!
You are welcome, flyonthewall. It's wonderful to hear from other people enjoying the music! Drive South! It's much warmer down here. 🙂
Thank you Lin, for posting this musical gem. In 1990 I was living in central upstate NY. I was still getting settled in to living back home after a six year stint the Army. Upstate NY is a world of differences from Ft. Hood, Texas. I would here this song but never catch who wrote it and performed it. I've since moved to Wisconsin and play guitar in a band. Drive south came to mind after a road trip to Florida last year. I decided that I wanted to get down to the nuts and bolts of this song and see exactly how John Hiatt plays it. Surprisingly, there are very few examples of what is going on, on the fret board. This video not only shows what's going on but as a bonus it shows what's going on with the slide guitar. The band doesn't know it yet but, they are going to "Drive South".
Greatness!!!👍🏼❤️
Imaging I’m there…..😌
Thanks for the video! I think this could be the only video of him singing this song live
❤️❤️❤️
