Twas a long time ago Longer now than it seems In a place that perhaps You've seen in your dreams For the story that you Are about to be told Began with the holiday worlds of old I know you're curious to see what's inside It's what happens when two holidays collide
Welcome my friends to our Christmas delight Come witness a ghoulishly glorious sight It’s time for our holiday tale to begin There’s no turning back now Please come all the way in Our holiday tale is a tale that’s quite charming But during this season, it’s sometimes alarming So relax, and reflect. Feel free to take pause While we tell you a tale about dear Sandy Claws
After hearing this they definitely should allow this song to be put in the next season of Wednesday. It’s got the perfect goulash spooky sound be in a holiday scene of that show
Wow... I love the ballroom that we have for it now, but I would gladly replace it with this original one. I guess Carol of the Bells doesn't necessarily work for the Halloween part of things, so Kidnap the Sandy Claws still makes a little more sense, but I always considered the attraction more of a Christmas one anyways. I wish they would use this music after the Halloween season was over and everything is fully Christmas at Disneyland.
Lol carol of the bells, i wish this was still the music for the ballroom because today's one kinda sucks (Kidnap the Sandy Claws is stuck in my head that's why!)
No. This was Gordon Goodwin and it was later arguably improved upon by John debney with a new score for the entire attraction in 2003. (The Original Soundtrack is still great). The things that are still the same from the original are the stretching room music, the old attic music was switched to the crypt at the end, and of course the ghost host monologue, lyrics to the graveyard song, madame Leota reciting “13 days of Christmas”, etc. The original foyer music was an eerie rendition of “up on the Housetop”, was replaced by some string instruments doing lament style music from the film, the loading music was changed from a similar style chorus to the original foyer music to kidnap the sandy claws played on numerous instruments. The loading music and hallway music for the attraction is also kidnap the sandy claws, the seance room’s music was changed a bit as well, this video is the original ballroom music and now it’s kidnap the sandy claws, the new attic music is a chorus singing “what’s this” and the graveyard music was given some minor adjustments. The old attic music, as I said is now in the crypt with oogie boogie. I have no life.
@@thebreedinghousewife8818 I have even less of a life. I know of the even more minor changes than that, such as the 2002 Exit Crypt music that can only be heard in Tokyo Disneyland these days. :P
Bree Lynch well the Tokyo Disneyland is the current CA soundtrack with Japanese voiceover but the stretching room jack in Tokyo is what it was in CA in 2001 not the CGI screen but the graveyard in Tokyo combines the two soundtracks and yeah the crypt music is also original. Also the lock shock and barrel I find more fitting instead of the Oogie boogie in Tokyo
@@thebreedinghousewife8818 Personally, I'd rather have that ending or the original ending over the current Oogie Boogie ending. Both of those actually have narration and actually END the ride, rather than taking it on a bit of a tangent and then leaving you there.

I never watched the show, but they should!
How am I just hearing this. I never heard this version on the ride. This is definitely the superior ballroom music
Agreed. This was only used in 2001, which was the first year of Haunted Mansion Holiday. The 2001 music for Madame Leota’s chamber is better too.
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Sounds like the grinch movie 2018 version wen he is stealing Christmas.
While I do like the new version better, I can’t deny how amazingly haunting this is!
This gives it such a more haunting and dramatic feeling to the ballroom making your heart race! It’s godly!
I love Danny Elfman, but the original 2001 score was better.
まままままみみひふゆゆゆゆをむんひんにさゅき
They don’t use this music for the ballroom anymore, they switched after the second year.

carol of the bells is the perfect "creepy christmas song"
This is a truly beautiful piece of music.

0:25 That sounds like Minnie Mouse 0.o
Sort of, but I agree.
Sandy Claws lel ikr its kinda creepy
i wonder if Danny Elfman was responsible for putting the Ride's music together

Bree Lynch yeah it’s a nice storybook ending
Wow! Love this!
Today I started randomly humming this in homeroom, and the teacher just looked at me and smiled. I love this tune.
your teacher has a good taste in music
Probably was wondering why you were humming “Carol of the Bells”
Spooky!
@Anthony Sanz Actually, it was just replaced b/c they wanted the score to use songs from the movie.
Reminds me I'm turning 20 this Christmas :) lol.
Happy early 20th birthday then.
Thank you <3.
Gorgeous.
This is so beautiful :)
Yeah, a deformed version of Carol of Bells. You can tell just by listening.
They changed the entire soundtrack to one composed by Danny Elfman in 2003.
Rock29Roll [Comic Auzi] nope. John debney, taking music from the original film score by elfman and adding new things
Wow I didn't hear this in the ride.
Sounds like you need to come visit the original park then XD
does anyone feel like going to disneyland whenever we listen to haunted mansion songs
Sadly us in Florida will never get to see this at our home park.
BJ Mormane feels bro feels
At least the Florida people can ride the normal Mansion ride during Halloween.
i think they banned this music because it was probably creepy
Not the creepiest Disney has ever done kid, it’s just not, Tokyo Disney has the Cinderella Castle Villain Mystery Tour and man that was creepy! 😬
Pretty sure it might actually be because they wanted to give the newer score a more similar vibe to the film.
Carol of the Bells.
jetraydude lol a deformed version of it
@nickleach62 strike the NMBC (Nightmare before Christmas) - senior moment.
@ProfessorVenom Is it the Carol of the Bells, NMBC?
what's the name of the original song this is based on?
ProfessorVenom Carol of the Bells
I love this. :'D
TurtlesaurRex haha ikr
