    I was born in Matamorros Tamaulipas mexico my parents are Americans citizens so I was moved back to Brownsville Texas nobody really is in fear from cartels I’ve seen them they don’t waste their time on residents they own gas stations and do bigger things than robbing people they know they are more powerful if the citizens like them so the invest into the community they have a rule no woman no kids but innocent people do die kids get kidnapped forced into a cartel boot camp to train kids to grow up as a assassin but all that is rare the people who live there are mot in fear it’s mostly between 2 rival cartels the one original to matamoros region is golf cartel they more in the business aspect of their organization its the zetas that started the beheadings so golf cartel be be heading and video recorded in sent back and forth

      Thanks for the information from your experience! I hear that definitely most of the violence is between people in the cartels. Sadly, I was about to visit Caborca this past spring, but they canceled the events I was prepped to attend because of cartel violence just beforehand. 7 people got killed, apparently include 2 bystanders, which is extra sad. I still don't consider myself much at risk from visiting there, and I still hope to visit sometime in the next year or so.

      I hate the cold except when I'm being physically active. I usually love the usually warm weather here. And this was a quick thing, but for longer hikes especially I love the mid 30s to low 40s for temperature (Fahrenheit). Less water to carry.

      Thanks for the comment! I hope to show much more, if things work out right. Also catch my video from over a year ago in Nogales. It's very much larger than Sasabe. Although Nogales is livelier now than when I visited a year ago, with very few COVID precautions anymore.

    We should stop this nonsense and build the wall !!

    • @thisorthere
      @thisorthere Рік тому

      There is an awful lot of wall and an awful lot of damage from it. I'm not sure how additional wall is supposed to help anything. I think we should invest a lot in helping to process more immigration much more efficiently and use less damaging ways to patrol the border.

      And if we're concerned about cartels, we should change the economic incentives that allow them to grow.

      Yeah, I figure it's funner to leave in some of my incompetencies. Back decades, there was a time when I often walked outdoors barefoot. Not these days at all. And by the time we walked through 9 of those in bare feet (asphalt being the worst), my feet felt rather tenderized. At least I had nice wool socks.
