What Do Coaches Have to Learn Every Year
Did these drills with my fourth grader. Her shot improved after just an hour.
Amazing!
The camera person needs to record lower while lowing. Couldn't see it well
I disagree with some of his instructions. I agree about not focusing on form as much. The two most important start for me is the use of legs and follow through. The 3rd is to focus. Placement of hand is a distraction and timely.
W content coach can I ask for your help ???
why are you wearing tights?
Imma start learning basketball at the age of 28 so that I can scratch that competitive itch while still being able to socialize with real people. Wish me luck!
I will test this advice with my kid, thank you very much. Great explanations!
Health✅
I disagree with the beginning of the video. I tell my kids I’d rather have them miss every shot with proper form than make it with bad form. They don’t have the strength at that age to shoot from more than 10-15 feet from the hoop. There’s no reason to shoot further back than that until you get older.
My daughter just started her first year of basketball and she five and struggled to get the ball to the rim . I’m going to have her try this next practice.
Amazing! Thanks so much ima cook my opponents now😂😁
Very good tips for basketball beginner especially🗣️🔥🏀👍😎
This is invaluable. Thank you

Hey just want to let you guys know, my team is 12-2 this year. We won our Christmas tournament (back to back champs). We have 4 games left. Short season with 8th grade. You all have helped me immensely. It wasn't always perfect or pretty. But I focused on a few standards all year. I believe it made a difference. Sometimes in the throws of the season things can fall off. But there was always a small thing I took from these talks into games and practices throughout the year. Hoping to finish 16-2!
That’s amazing to hear!
Thanks for sharing!
Great tips! love the color idea so players can visualize coordinated actions
Setting team expectations is so important....pick a few and hold everyone accountable
I guess my parents are downright mean😂 i make 3s on 10 ft rim
Do not like your guide hand instructions. As a coach I have to break the habit of having guide hand in front of the ball. This causes so many problems. If kids get comfortable doing this it will be a tough habit to break. Nope. Will not teach your guide hand/ laces and lift principles.
Can you explain why you're putting her off hand behind the ball?
🙄
I like it. Great info
This is Amazingly good information for Coaches and Everyone! Awesome! Helpful!
Great video I was asked to coach a 5-6 year old basketball team and I’ve played football track powerlifting everything other than basketball my son’s on the team and he’s four so I’m obligated now to do the best for these kids for sure so this video is loads of help! Pun intended

What exactly are 4’s & 3’s?
Wow, i really needed this.. Feeling the exact same way. Winning team, we're 10-2 in the season. Lost both games against the current champions by 3 points. We play them again tomorrow. And for the past 4 weeks we've practiced poorly. Low energy, not respecting the details of the game, aquiring bad habits by forgetting to box out and communicate, and overall low intensity. I've tried different strategies. I feel like there's a communication barrier right now. Anyway, i've been here before as a coach. Tired, drained, low motivation, a bit hopeless tbh. We get lost but we find a way, that's the motto. Eventually this phase will be behind. Right now, it sucks and you always wonder wether you have what it takes to get yourself and your team through it. But you do. Persistency and hard word fellas.
92 Dream Team all day, every day.
You are giving your kids money to pay you for not doing a chore instead of rewarding completing the chore. I like to make my son feel a sense of accomplishment not the entitlement of thinking they can afford to slack off.
same games that kids play outside.. 21 either tack backs or no tack backs
Content and Clarity is Awesome!

Skill work in season is ridiculous. The start of skill work should be from September 1, to the start of school basketball season. Kids should not be playing AAU. Unless it’s 6th grade and below. Unfortunately the high schools in garland TX aka South Garland. Choose to do fucking track in field instead of skill work during this time. It was a trend going on with the high schools in DSID, sad. Player development is what the player do in his position or role both sides of the bal for there team. I mention this to a coach before the season start and why my son doesn’t play AAU after September 1. Coach look at me like I’m crazy. So I ask, when does the player really get better?
We can agree players need an off season to prioritize skill work. What we suggest is that all great players find time for skill work in season as well. We as coaches can help facilitate that.
I believe viewership is down for nba because of all the fouls and the amount of time spent on replays.
Agree + ads. Olympics hoops was so easy to watch simply because of the lack of ads
The game does take a long time!
If you catch the ball in triple threat with your knees already bent and your hands already low you don't have to dip. The players do dip because they often don't catch the ball in triple threat position. Steph's dip is very small and very quick. And he shoots with an elbow slightly down and his elbow bent dramatically in front of his eyes. Then he shoots out from his elbow and his legs all coordinated to have the ball be released with the maximum force to get the great distance.
Passes and movement rarely allow for these perfect catches. Loading with a dip create a repeatable rhythm and sequence.
@@SAVICoaching I agree. The reason they now dip is to get consistancy and a lot of momentun (starting at a lower point as you move your arm up. Tripple threat is fine if you are shooting within 20 but once outsde you need the greater momentum. That is why almost all the outside deep shooters t provide for a little dip so set up their shot. The fact that Caitin Clark practices as a normal part of her routne shots from the logo with the goal of making 50% is why she is able to shot 37% of those shots. Really changed the idea of what is humanly possible. Steph and Caitlin - same player.
1) Elam Ending Nov-Feb 2) Max 20 3pters per regular season game

Yes I agree. We will get better next time. Thank you
I never comment. Awesome job on these ideas. I’m going to share this with my Varsity Team today. Thanks for the effort and thought putting it together.
Thank you!!
1. Luka 2. Giannis 3. Joker
Love the idea of subbing to teach and to quickly get them back on the court. If it's not communicated correctly, then that's how players perceive subbing out = poor job/head down.
This is pure gold. Thanks for your insights gents with handling pressure.
Appreciate it!
This video speaks to me. I had the absolute training session of my life a few weeks ago, every release felt so clean and effortless and I’ve been unable to mimic that feeling. I have realised it’s not a change of form that ruining my shot it’s the sequence
I’ll buy half of it. My father taught youth through college. He never thought me form didn’t matter. I practiced correct form until I was successful enough to have fun. This is why shooting forms in the nba are worse than ever
Great technique. It has been very helpful. Quick question. I am coaching my daughter’s 9under team. The entire team are 7 years old and new to the game. We lost our first 2 games. What some things I should focus on to teach the game get more competitive?
LockLeft.com teach them how to defend this way.

Man you could talk 1/10th as much and convey the same information. It ruins your message when you make 90% of your message filler
Thanks for the feedback. Simplicity wins
@ thanks for listening, most people ignore criticism (especially when it’s kind of rudely conveyed) but it’s how we get better. Respec respec
💰🏚️ House Money!
I completely agree about the systems you have, if anything it makes it easier to teach the game and should be used with less experience teams! I have witnesses myself
