Mind-blowing sounds!
Wonder if there are more videos of this style of dance? Now imagine this dance on a table (think “Around the World in 80 Days”)...
Amazing sound
Astonishing!
The drummers also the ambassadors of the Burundi culture.
I like the deep pitch in this one.
Beautiful afrikan culture
Depression
Too bad you can't hear the beauty in depression
I think it's very spirited. It almost sounds like rock
Unfortunately, you cannot understand Amazigh to enjoy the beauty of what they said!

Avê maria , que merda de samba ninguém sabe bater um tantan nem um pandeiro direito não ?
Mickeys creativity and ingenuity has no boundaries or limitations. Between this, and that volcano mirage thing he did in Vegas in 2008, it seems like his shows are becoming more themed, detailed and elaborate, and STILLS continues to break new ground in the music/drum/percussion world. Mickey never ceases to impress me. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to see this musical pioneer perform in the dozens of Dead shows I've attended and feel so blessed and honored, because talent like this is RARE...Sure, there are many talented musical artists. But very few do what Mickey does, and the Dead, for that matter...
Pouvez vous me donner le titre de cette émission?
obrigado !!! I loved listening to this group in Salvador de Bahia
Flávia Pacheco

You guys absolutely rock it. My favorite moment is at 12:35 when the Highland pipers join in. A gem in PDX

This instrument is called the Xalam - otherwise known as Ngoni or Hoddu.
Very impressive!
parabems galera!
Bien ahi, difundiendo la herencia cultural afro peruana por el mundo.
Starting in April, every SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH!! Thanks for posting!!!!
Hi Kevin. I sure did. Baboucar was playing the Sabar I had just bought actually. I also bought several of his Tama as well. Sabar tend to cost $500 or more in the US and Japan because of the weight and cost to ship. You can get good quality Sabar for under $200 if you hunt around and negotiate. Abene has a thriving community of performers. They have a huge drum festival at the end of December every year. I highly recommend it.
Excellent! Did you buy anything? Some of the people from a local djembe drum group (Lincolnshire England) have just come back from Abene (doing a course with Mamady K and his friends) How much does a Sabar or a Djembe cost to buy in Senegal?
Very cool. I've taken several of his workshops. He breaks down the rhythms very well. Very compelling instructional style too.
They actually welcome onlookers. I was just strolling through the streets of Salvador with the sound of the music echoing down the streets on a quiet night. When I found the studio, they welcomed me in and gave me a steel chair to cozy up dangerously close to the action. You can see capoeira in the streets. But I think it's better in the studios.
I love seeing Steve and Denny are still committed to this very technical and complex instrument and you. Big Ups! Big Shout Out to my Seattle Brother's! I miss you all, thanks for sharing with the world!!!
Bembe Olele, specifically Mark Lilly are/is so BOMB! It always amazes me to hear the three different drums playing three different rhythms in sync! It the most beautiful thing.
Very nice sound. Now if the screams of the suicides jumping off the bridge were incorporated to the piece it could be conceptually perfect. Wheeeeee!
HAHAHA! I'm cracking up at your comment! I'm sure Mickey has a hidden, "lost weekend" recording of those who actually flew off the bridge SOMEWHERE in his music vault. One he dies, the recording of the suicides will be released. It will go viral on you tube and gain millions of viewers!
wOw. The Dead never died.
Only Mickey...Love that dude!!
