The Who Join Together
Переглядів 52215 років тому
Do you really think I care, what you read or what you wear, I want you to join together with the band!
In his biography, "hanks a Lot, Mr. Kibblewhite: My Story", Roger Daltrey refers to this performance as the one time that John Entwistle kept it under control and played soft enough not to blow you away. He played louder than Pete at most of the Who's gigs!
2:53 🔥
the Ox stealing the show.
Roger admitted to putting this together with the Chieftains to get a laugh at how quiet they were compared to John's bass as he said "after years and years and years" of putting up with John's loudness.
This was the best! That middle section. Wow
Who else is here from Rodgers book
Roger's autobiography brought me here, great clip!
gee, vocal is tight and has hardly a note to refer to
They turned Behind Blue Eyes into RPG music, pretty cool
John roubando a cena 😍
I also still have this on vhs when I recorded it years ago.. a real gem
He's not JPJ, but hey, still good ....
JPJ *is* a joke.
@@petebradt says you.
Rip thunderfingers!! U r missed greatly

THE BEST BASS PLAYER TO EVER LIVE!!!
Roger talk about this show in his biography, it's really fun as he says! Entwistle was a really dam good player.
Utterly brilliant
most idiotic thing when idiots decide to strings into an original rock song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. Dave Mustaine famously said "playing acoustic is like trying to have sex with your clothes on" And Entwistle just shredded that acoustic like no one else. RIP
Pete was there....btw it was Roger's 50th birthday celebrated a week early ...in Carnegie Hall Feb 24& 25 th... The tape is out there CD too very special night
When you hear John play like that on an acoustic instrument...no tricks - all John...
Well, that sure never gets old! Neither do they, even in death!!
Such a shame he is gone.
Beautiful, with The Chieftains
Daltrey ,Entwistle and the Chieftains playing the best of Pete Townsend ! SUPERB MUSIC !!!!
If I'm not abused, these are the Chieftains playing with them, sitting behind !!! SUPERB !!
Music. Real, got-damned music. Contrast with the auto-toned rap Crap of today....
Great to see and hear John's solo! =)
It is awesome
I wonder what's the name or brand of that acoustic bass John is holding...workmanship and sound seems quite beautiful.
That's an Ovation bass. First one I've seen, but I have an Ovation guitar.
Note the high class pause by John at 2:45....
I bet Paul McCartney saw this and cried.
entwistle,what a man!!!
5:08 John suddenly turns into Keith :D
incredible bass player!
That was truely EPIC
You give The Ox a bass He will rock it become a god of it You give The Ox an acoustic bass He will rock it and become a god of it You give The Ox a Double bass He will rock it become god of it
It can be acoustic, but it has a pickup and controls on top of the body, where only the player can see them... also a tuner and 9 volt battery holder.
Yes it is indeed
You should have said: 'Warning, you may die from extreme awesomeness at 2:55-3:34
Beautiful and Roger dancing to the merry minstrels had me in tears laughing......
i wish mate, i cant seem to find the bloody disc anywhere
I seen Roger and The Music of the WHO some time after this Carnegie Hall gig. Although it is still great, the band tightened up by the time I saw them. I believe and I can only imagine Mr Daltrey will agree to this. At the time It was at Great Woods/Tweeter Center in Mansfield Ma. 8/94. It was a great performance! Gave you goose nipples. Full Orchestra, Synth, John Entwistle came out and played all night, and Peters son played guitar, Simon Phillips on DRUMS! Keith would've been proud.
do you have the whole thing?
Thumbs up if you skipped to 2:55
Man John wants to groove that shit but the goddamn band won't let him...
Roger says on page 135 that he got a kick out of placing John with that band, forcing him to play not so goddamned loud as to drown out Roger's voice like he does at WHO concerts.
Pete, You should be very proud of this rendition. Amazing
and I cried
When you have hair like that at age 50, you're a fucking badass. When you play bass like that, you're an ox.
This is awesome. The orchestral-like arrangement works amazingly here.
Thanks for upload!! Where can I find to download?? Longliverock. Org?
