Brilliant tutorial. I've just been ask to replace the sash version for a friend and old lock key stops one way at 10 o'clock and the other way at 2 o'clock . The new lock does the same 🤔what causes this. 👏🏻👍🏻..
@@Stealth_1972 the old one could be number of things, worn key , detainers sticking together…..the new one you’ve put in, have you tried locking and unlocking while the door is open
The new one doesn't turn even with the lock in me hand 🤔. Does what the old one did. Stupid turning at 10 and 2.Thanks for the reply fella.. 💪🏻

one thing im struggling with though. You turn up to a job and presented with nothing more than a mortice keyway. How do you know which lock it is to chose the right template? Surely all you can see from the outside is a key shaped hole in the door and nothing else.
@@Its_Me_Jason_Lee any mortice lock is very easy to ID through the keyway following a process of elimination, colour, gauge, hardplate shape, identifying features. For instance , if you look through the keyway, see it is silver/grey, 7gauge , no hardplate but two nipples either side of keyway it can only be an ERA Viscount

I bought a set off of you. If only all dimple locks were so easy. I tension and rake most of these in to false set then do the sliders. So easy

I had some trouble with the bks/mila 1 star the other day with secured by design eschucheon key way handles. Have you ever covered this lock? One of the pins is pin in pin
