Boat Pike Fishing 2024 vol 1
1. Lookout for Typical Prey Spots
When you’re fishing for species like roach or carp you create a swim with feed to draw them in and hold them. It isn’t the same with pike, instead, you have to put the effort into finding where they’re most likely to be, and as a predator, that’s going to be near their food source - prey fish.
Where the prey fish are located depends on the time of the year, or more importantly the temperature of the water.
Warm Water: The prey fish will be spread out, usually in the shallower areas, meaning the pike could be anywhere.
Cold Water: In autumn and winter, when the mercury drops, the roach and bream that pike eat will look for a more constant temperature in deeper water and so will shoal together in these places… and the pike will not be far away.

Surfcasting at Yarmouth North Beach

An early September summer day fishing at the beach. Just nice to be out again and try a venue close to home. Back end of some big tides, unfortunately plenty of weed. I fished the last two n half hours of the ebb.The bait was frozen lug and blast frozen sand-eel, the rod we used was the Ziplex Fzero lovely to use...an old style built literally as a fishing rod however it can get the distance un...

A trip to the beach for a go at Bass and Bait catching. Size 16 sabkis worked here for the sand-eel a few small herring to. Water was crystal clear, no surf and a neap tide. Lovely day and caught the sun to. Sandeel are in the freezer now about 14, looking forward to using them for a turbot/Ray or Bass on some bigger tides.

Electric Reels for Deepwater Fishing

The Daiwa Tanacom 750 could be considered an entry-level electric reel (if an electric reel could ever be considered entry level). It holds 400 yards (1,200′) of 80-lb braid with retrieval rate of 16″ per revolution. It has a drag strength of 48 lbs, which is easily twice as powerful as most large halibut reels. With sealed electronics and many features including an automatic jigging mode, it w...

My Top 5 Beach Fishing Rods in 2024 for UK Sea Angling

Two piece shore rods consist of a butt section and a tip section and are usually between 12′ and 14’ in length. Most carry a broad cast rating of 120gm (4oz) to 225gm (8oz), but there are lighter and heavier options to consider too. A lot of these rods are rung for multiplier use, but any rod rung for a multiplier can also be used with a fixed spool reel. Two piece shore fishing rods can be use...

I brought one utter rubbish it might be ok setting up in a garden for promotional reasons but on a windy beach this inferior quality product fails, it has a narrow shingle shirt and the push in poles are poor fitting for real life, dont buy!
And because of this i will never buy another IMAX product
no it was not ok setting up in the garden ....it was a headache!
I find the Westin "Salty" to be one of the best metal lures, as well as the smallest size Savage Gear "Seeker". Beautiful action to them and excellent control at different depths.
I couldn't agree more...the seeker has a fantastic action especially when you pause the retrieve, it flutters downwards truly irresistible to any predatory fish. The 30g is a balanced size, suits most Bass Rods and has the ability to punch through a headwind.
good flounder bro respect
Appreciated

Hi , I have had more bass / mackeral on metal lures especially dexter wedge, great fun plus you dont feel gutted when you loose one, the price of some plugs im having to put them on christmas and birthday lists. great channel.
Hi thanks for the comment, yes i'm a big fan of the metal lures for Bass. I have caught many other species using them
As for the title question. Any colour which contrasts the sky, unless you're using surface lures which have rattles as they will hone in on the sound more than anything. Bright sky dark lures and the opposite
My best fishing on a sunny, glass like water conditions is always a white patchinko, medium retrieve. It's hardly ever failed me
@@wetkneehouston6293 Mine is the Frosty 2 in those conditions. It's pretty battered now so I've bought a spare then sanded down the old one, sprayed it blak then a coat of clear lacquer. I'll be trying that soon.
@@richardjones2811 the frosty is awesome, mate of mine has multiple double figure bass on that in the past few months
@@wetkneehouston6293 So good in fact that my Patchinkos haven't even seen life out of the wrapper yet haha.
Great video, I usually fish from rocky marks into deep water for Bass. It looks like an offshore wind which must have helped with calming the waves and weed situation.
Hi thanks for the comment, yes lots of tide this part of the Coast, can get really weedy especially after a decent Northerly.
Tran Cao Van is the street pictured in the famous photograph
Hi Scott, I have physically been to the location, checked out all the streets and my Gut says it's 'NGUYEN TRI PHUONG', Tran Cao Van is to narrow street to fit those two M48 tanks down. The trees line up, walls and street poles match. However I read something about 'NGUYEN TRI PHUONG' street was not called this during the Conflict
Nice video what's the fs you're using on the other century.
Hi mate, its a Dawia 6000t Tournament.s
Thank you for showing this bit of history
I have this . Total nightmare to put together.. only managed it once ..wish i had bought a bigloo
Don't worry mate...i was dun aswell
Your video came up I saw you had less than 100 away from the 1000 so I subscribed I’ll share next time I visit. No one want a text in the middle of the night.

How do the rod tips fair out in a 5-6 foot surf?
Hi mate, for me 5-6ft is a bit on the big side for fishing. However have done it before and caught bass. Rod tips would be bouncing around all over the place
@@Completeangler2 How do you think this rod would pair with my penn 525 mag 1? Thanks for your reply?
@@Jollyboysbass Depending on how good a caster you are? Should get good distance, the penn is a good reel for surfcasting.
@@Completeangler2 I won't lie, but I've an old tip tornado sport I bought in 2003 and I use it in Ireland off the beaches and sometimes there's 5 foot of whitewater, the waves out back could have double over head faces and the rod's as solid as a rock. Do they make them like they used to ?
@@SpiralMoss hi mate, my regards to Ireland. I have fished a few beaches over there near Valencia and Achill Is. Big surf beaches there, think mine are 2009 rods so must be similar, heaps of power in the Sport edition.
Very nice session !
yes plenty of flatfish on this trip
Sorry fella but they ain't crucians look like f1s
Yes i think your Correct
Good video.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Such a powerful rod for small fish
yes the century is quite powerful, here you need it to get the distance. 150 yards maybe required on some beaches
What mainline are you using?
Hi, Dawia Tornament fluro 15lb, mono
Thank you for posting!
Our pleasure!
If you could only use a spinner or a popper what would be your choice?
hi, it would have to be a spinner but i would miss my poppers
@@Completeangler2 yes more fun to watch lures on or near the surface
@@Completeangler2 Hi! Have you tried to catch sea bass on wobblers? I bought several yu-zuri poppers (hydro and 3D), I have several replicas, as well as a lot of spinners, but I am interested in wobblers from the point of view of the casting range. Spinners and pilkers have a good casting range, but they are easier to lose on a rocky bottom
@@alexka3644 Hi Alex, a lot of anglers are targeting bass with weighted soft plastic lures rigged with a weedless hook. you may need a 9ft rod to ping this out. over rough shallow ground i use poppers. if its murky i may go with a bright coloured shallow diver. another great method is to free line a peeler crab. check out Henry Gilbey's website
@@alexka3644 Hi Alex, i sometimes use shallow divers. Had better success on metals recently. Lots of Anglers are targeting bass with weighted soft plastics rigged with a weedless hook. Check out Henry Gilbeys website.
Had my first bass on a Maria kiss hard plastic there this year, thrilling
hi, yeh good work. the maria angle kiss is a good lure a bit pricey though. I have fished up there, not much luck though this year.
love it!
thank you
Need your hands further apart and keep your leader knot to one side of the spool and where the line comes off to the other side of the spool. Less chance of leader knot ripping your thumb open and less stress on spool spindle.
Great comment mate i couldn't agree more. When i cast i like my lug-worm to stay on the hook and not fly off. regards
Don't buy it its rubbish
I agree cheap china crap
Great stuff doing very well
thanks mate
Blimey you really did get your flatfish mixed up 😂 your dabs were flounders your flounders were dabs and also your plaice were also flounders..
Yes it had been 10 years since i'd caught them. got it sorted now though. cheers
@@Completeangler2 what beach is that?? I don't recognise that beach and know most of them in that area..
