You really shouldn't clean the filter like that, you're killing the beneficial bacteria that builds up on the sponges, the handle is meant to restore water flow without destroying the bacteria

Did you get a crazy amount of foam when running the ahhsome thru? I have foam that can extend up welll over the edge of my tub when I use this. I usually use a leaf blower to keep that foam under control.
