I have a story to tell about The Bobs. My mum wouldn’t let me ride this coaster so aged twelve I caught the bus into Piccadilly then another to BellVue. I stood there in awe looking at this amazing ride but noticed a sign saying children must be accompanied by an adult,😢 This guy who looked like he was in his thirties asked me if I wanted a go and that he would pay and take me on it. I immediately said yes and if we went, although only twelve I knew what he was up to as my mum had told me often enough about strange men! After the ride had ended I said I needed the toilet and once out of sight made my escape through the front entrance and waited for my bus home. Looking back it was a really bad decision on my part but all I could think of at that time was a ride on The Bobs. Never told my mum but often laughed to myself that I’d ripped off this creep but maybe he wasn’t?
