Seiko SNK 809. A great first mechanical watch!
they are generally pressed into position, nothing stays in place out of sheer will!
That's Spanish and French, Monsieur. Beautiful watch
Saludos desde Perú pero ese bisel nuevo no entra a preción o no es original? Quiero comprar un bisel nuevo en ebay por Seikosis pero tengo la duda que no entre
Great watch! How’s legibility in natural light?
Legibility is great!
Where to buy please?
Bartonwatchbands.com
The second hand has no lume, right? Thank you
No lume
I have the same model since 1999 . Great piece bought it back then new for around $500 I think on the factory rubber strap which is great. Mine needs a revision now but I think I will spend the money and bring it back in action . It is understated elegance , minimalistic , less is more…..
I literally feel it: "it bothered me at first, but over time..." I scratched my first automatic on the first evening after an very funny evening after pure stupidity but still fun, and i thought about to get a new titanium bracelet. Would been one of the most senseless things in my life. Even if i felt minda pain during the first few days watching on the scratches. When i look at them nowadays: new scratches don't bother me at all and these ones let me think about an real good evening with my best friends.
Thinking about getting this for my next watch! Thanks for doing the comparision, i was debating between 36 vs 38, and seeing it on your wrist helped me decide! Also, can you comment on the scratch resistance? Seems like the majority of the watch is good, but the clasp has picked up some scratches
You’re correct the clasp is most likely to scratch due to most contact with surfaces.
What a fantastic timepiece! But there is no orange hands in first models which's from 1972. It must be from 1974-76 era
I’ve heard that as well so it must be from a different year..
I use purple loctite on my Ball watch screws. Works quite well and I’ve reapplied once in two years of ownership
Hi do you know if the traska 34mm is still a limited watch or is it now fully apart of there watch catalog ?
I believe it is still a limited watch
@@timeportal1189okay thank you i think I’m just going to go ahead and buy it now then as I don’t want to miss out, and them to never make another one again.
I settle on 36mm watches on my 6,5 wrist, not ready for the jump to 34mm in my head 😅
I love mine Especially the bracelet
I am try to decide whether to get the one with yellow markers or the orange markers. Is hardlex better than Sapphire?
Both are good choices! Sapphire is stronger!
How are effective are you finding the hardening coating? I noticed the clasp on the mint green had some swirls/scratches.
The coating works well on the case but the clasp on the bracelet can still scratch as it gets more contact with surfaces overtime..
@@timeportal1189Thanks for the reply and video!!
Ношу Oris bc3 advanced уже больше 10 лет - скажу вам, очень практичные и надежные часы, 220 механизм работает на -1 +2 секунды в сутки после репассажа🤷🏼♂️💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Well, I've got a 6.5" wrist, so I think the 34mm will fit quite nicely. Hopefully they still have the sandstone yellow in stock when I can spare the funds.
I have still the same watch from 2000 and it runs well, because i send it to the oris factory for revision. It was a gift from my parents.
It’s a great piece! Mine still runs well too!
For the 16cm (~6.3") wrist which one would be the better?🤔
Both are fine but I’d pick the 34mm
This video was really helpful. Thanks for making it! My 34mm Faded Copper dial Commuter arrives tomorrow! 🙌🏻
How do you like? Does it give a salmon like hue at times?
I like the dial a lot. It gives the Lange-like kinda vibes.
Can you feel or hear the movement of the rotor? The 34mm looks so much better than on the Traska website. I snapped -up some smaller (new - old stock) Seiko 5s ( SNKL) as brands don't really make this type of watch ( hence the poor reception to Traska's 34mm), or make it more feminine ( that smaller Aqua Terra..).
Yes I’ve notified with all three traskas I’ve owned you can hear the miyota rotor move around.
@@timeportal1189 That's the only thing I don't like about my Summiteer. Other than that, it's a gem. And I've mostly learned to ignore now.
Thanks for posting. Not a lot about the 34mm out there but as soon as it came out I grabbed one in the Aegean blue and I have to say that 34mm with a 19mm lug width is the perfect size. I have a 7 inch wrist and I don't have any watch over 35mm, so I love the smaller size.
Not the original back
You’re correct
Fantastic review on this very nice watch . I ordered it today off of Amazon for a great deal. Can’t wait for it to arrive 👍🏻
Fantastic! Small watches are always classy and dressy.
Just the video I needed! I really like the copper dial but I think 34 is too small. Maybe once the 34 sells out, we’ll get a copper dial in 36 or 38
All personal preference and how big or small your wrist is! I love both!
Thanks for posting this. I’m really interested in the 34 and I think it looks fantastic on you. I reached out to Traska to see if they would ever do a one-off white dial and they said they had others request the same thing. 🤞 they change their mind on availability.
God I hope so that would be amazing! I really wanted a silver dial in 34!
I second that! I've been waiting for a review of the 34mm and would love a light champagne or silver dial version.
Try a touch of transparent nail polish. That is what I use for screws on my glasses.
Good idea! Thanks!
all hail the smaller watches!
You still jave your Oris BC 3 chrono? Just bought the BC3 date time in 42mm. Manufactured in 2006. Cant wait for it to arrive. Bought the white barton strap for it as well.
Sold it a while back for another watch.
@@timeportal1189 another Oris? Man, that was a beautiful watch.
Unfortunately no a different watch. I miss it but it was too large for me!
Just bought an Oris 2006 day date 42mm. Have a 16.75 inch wrist but I like bigger watches
Your Oris was manufactured in 2008 based on SN
Does it wear bigger than 36 or is it true to size? I wanted to try 36mm and this colorway but my Hamilton KFA is at 38mm and just looks the perfect size. So, I'm really having 2nd thoughts on the 36mm.
It wears a little larger because the dial makes up most of the case!
Thank you!
I agree, wears slightly bigger 👍🏻
I’m sure you’ve been told already but try any lowest strength thread locker
I have the same watch in gold with a white and ruby dial. It is beautiful and I absolutely will never sell it.
This watch was in jurassic Park 3. Alan Grant wore it. 👌
either you are a giant or that watch is too small
It’s a little bit of both lol
i bought a new engineer iii marvelight chronometer (36mm) and the watch fell off my wrist on the first day after i received it. i took it to my trusted local watch shop (little watch shop in houston, tx) to have it looked over and they said a few of the screws weren't screwed all the way in so that the head is slightly recessed. luckily i was just typing at my desk when it happened and i was able to find the screw on the rug. but overall i love the watch!
Blue lock tight for the bracelet screws
Is there a year it was made? I seem to observe that there are different versions depending on the time it was made. Yours has a good bezel to crystal ratio and overall is quite thin.
I have 2 balls, and my wife loves them!
A beautiful hierloom. I got into their vintage models coming from their newer offerings. It's a shame their new trainmasters are all above 40mm with a crowded dial - Ball could do much to create a heritage collection similar to how Longines and many others have succeeded doing so. Thank you for sharing this video, there is little content on this watch and I think it deserves more attention.
Thanks!
Same Impulse Buy Just a few minutes ago lol... Can't wait to see in person!!
By your serial number it was made in August of 1974. Nice review Nice watch.
Thanks!
Is this 42mm watch size?
No 40mm
Maybe you need to press it in?
Have the exact same watch. Just had the movement replaced so now it’s a new watch. Outside looks new. I paid $500 for it new. Still my favorite watch.
My father left me his watches. This is one I’m not familiar with. He left me the black and gold. Need to get the battery replaced. Jut can’t seem to find a manual on how to set this one.
You can find online I had to do the same thing…
What does the 12 hour (left) sub dial do? I have seen photos and videos with various times set, but the left dial is always at 12.
Hour indicator for the chronograph. Great to use to time long flights or road trips!
