Burnley v Leeds: The one where nothing happened
Somehow, just somehow, the team manage to find something to talk about that highly dull top of the table clash at Turf Moor between Scott Parker's Clarets and Daniel Farke's Leeds. One shot on target between them, on the 87th minute. Are the Clarets playing this far too safe, and can they secure an automatic promotion spot?
Match analysis with Host, Natalie Bromley and Adam Dennett.

I hope Leeds have subsequently restored your faith in their attacking ability, Burnley were lucky Farke is so risk averse or your team would have been thrashed 😊😊😊
Great content from a LUFC fan.
You were disappointed with Leeds? How did you really expect them to play when you pit eleven behif the ball? Agreed they have played better. But the Burnley attitude to the game was abysmal and if you continue to play like this you deserve to lose in the play offs
@@pauljones5831 we absolutely did not put 11 men behind the ball, and Leeds didn’t make any attempt to win the game either. But thank you for your comments, appreciated.
Listen I’m happy with that boredraw people who call Parker don’t watch us beat Pompey 8 points out of 12 happy days mr massey
I'm a Leeds fan, now admittedly it wasn't the greatest of games but if the object of football this season is to get promoted then not losing is the first step. Who said football should be exciting? The two teams are 1st and 3rd both up there both in serious contention for promotion. Yes it was dull yes it was a poor advert for championship football but if we both go up who cares?
Probably the most critical point of the season at a pivotal point in the season
@@Bibg867 I’m not sure I agree with those, so would be really keen to hear why you think that?
@ My reasoning is based on the gap at the Top of the League and the run in. We have 2 games left against teams in the Top 6 both at The Turf. Leeds have 4 with 2 of those away. By keeping the gap to 3 points I believe we can catch Leeds based on my reasoning. Had we lost then I think the advantage of games v top 6 would be lost.
Funny how everyone looks to the opposing team to provide the exciting, cutting edge . . The drama. But most teams struggle to break down a low block from a bottom 3 side. So any team trying to break down a boring low block team with recent ex prem players is probably gonna fail. Burnley are boring Yes, no real threat going forward Yes. But best defense in the championship Yes. Own it Burnley fans, you're boring, but do you care
We don’t care mr massey u t c
Seems you are happy to pay to watch this crap week in week out
Eh? I'm not Clarets fan.
It’s Ok. Parker will let the handbrake off when he gets the time to work with the squad (it’s only been seven months). He’ll let the handbrake off when he gets the players he needs (he’s only had two full windows). He will let the handbrake off when he is playing the teams we should beat. In short he’ll let the handbrake off… next time. Definitely. Just you wait. Also that jam you ordered? Arrives tomorrow.
This result tells me that parker is going out to win the games we should be winning, and hoping for a win against the teams we might struggle against. Maybe he needs to change tactic and go for it. We have decent players that could do something. We need results UTC!!!!!
Completely agree, it's promotion or bust for us. If we don't go up we lose Trafford, Esteve. Cj, Brownhill, Roberts at a minimum. Pace needs to act VERY quickly, if all we bring in are Sonne, Barnes and Shelvey then it's an abysmal window and Parker is fighting with his arm tied behind his back.
I like Parker but I'm getting bored of him saying it's a young team, it's not. Loads of experience in our side and it's a seriously weak division this season
@@flyoverfredusa we have to get out of this league this year.
Nat, it's going to take us nine home games to score four goals 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 We don't have the quality to dictate, most of it left in the summer. Foster meh, Darmiento meh etc etc etc. Brownhill goes missing in the big games, Laurent got picked off and Cullen ended up being a one man midfield.
@@flyoverfredusa I’ve been predicting a 4-0 for ages. Maybe, before the end of the season, just maybe! N
Good point, boring AF - all good if we get promoted, abysmal if we don't. Utter bore fest BUT we've got next to nothing up top so................over to Pace to bring some serious quality in to get that 120 million quid payday. Go with what we have and we don't get promoted. Also, Leeds with the best squad had ONE shot, not all that, Sunderland were better.
The paying customer not getting value for his hard earned money. How many more 0-0 are we to endure under this regime ?
@gingerali if it gets us promoted this year, I’m prepared to accept it. Weirdly, it gives us a much better chance of surviving in the PL than under VK?
Sadly a very poor, dull as ditchwater of a game. We were second best for the last 15 mins of first half and all of second half. Only one team played like they wanted to win. Leeds are not a great side, but they do look like they can create something. We huff but we aren’t dangerous. A great defence is something to be proud of, but the inability to score / look dangerous not only makes watching TMC tough, it will probably cost us promotion…….we need that 20 goals a season centre forward, but if we can’t get that, we need the manager to create a better balance between no goals conceded and no goals scored!
Pleased with the clean sheet but not about the draw. Attack looked blunt & I'm not sure the attacking Spirit & will to win was there. It was all about not losing. In that they succeeded.
I was on the Turf for the 1973 draw and it was absolutely packed and totally mayhem on the Longside.
We owe you 1 after Elland rd and we will beat you tonight 2-1 lol you beat Plymouth 😂😂 who hasn't lol. Jokes aside it's 3pts to leeds imo. Should be a cracking game
@@tonybains really looking forward to this one.
Oh dear, how sad, never mind! Ditchwater of a watch, but a point apiece was a fair reflection……
@@MartinMaxted who needs a sleeping pill 💊 😴 just watch the game instead 😴
Natalie, turn off the poker sound not the podcast sound... 🤣🤣 So funny.
@@stuntjohn1556 I’m such an idiot! 🤦🏼♀️
Leeds defo more clinical lately, if it goes the way of the last game Burnley with just 20% of the ball, Leeds 2/3 - 0. But with Burnleys low block proficiency I see a bore draw
Credit to Plymouth. They sorted themselves out for the 2nd half. Very much improved. However the damage had already been irreperlly been done by us in the 1st half.

Thank you! Look forward to the next one.
Burnley had the better of the first 20mins then Sunderland controlled the game and had the better chances. 1st penalty was outside the box, should have been a freekick and a sending off. 2nd was definitely a penalty. Burnleys main threat was the long ball out to the wingers but once Sunderland figured that out, Burnley were pretty clueless on the attack. Sunderland were the better team and will only miss out on the automatic promotion spots because of inexperience.
Sunderland by far the better side
@@thomascrangle3846 not really
The reason Burnley won't go up (imo) is they lack ambition in tight games. Theyd rather draw 0-0 the go and risk a result to get the 3pts. Barely felt troubled against Burnley home or away. Last 30 away at Burnley i exoected an onslaught, Burnley were buzzing with a point and only 1 team wanted to win it, which i found odd. Personally i think we are a better side with a lot of our attack due back in 2-3 weeks and we will likely meet each other in the play offs. (No issue with Trafford wasting time, id want our keeper to do the same, no issue at all) First half you played the long ball to the wingers and we struggled with it as we went touch tight, 2nd half our fullbacks dropped off a yard and nullified you completely. For the players Burnley have, Parker starves any sort of creativity out of you. 1st half we allowed you to have the ball, its what we do against every single side we play so we can break with our pace. Then 2nd half we come alive, did tge same against Leeds, they had all the ball 1st half at our place, 2nd half we had 60% of the ball. I thought Jobe and Neil absolutely dominted the midfield battle in the 2nd half, aside from 5 minutes at the start of that 2nd half Burnley just sat in. 1st pen is obviously never a pen, 2nd isnt even a debate, you can't clean a player out in the box
@@sch9673 you talk sense!
Sunderland deserved to win.Burnley were rubbish and. boring.
@@terryarkle7477 🙄
Interesting views on penalties, but I don’t think either was a clear penalty. First was 100% clearly outside the box, the second was so dubious - absolutely minimal contact, would never have been overturned to “given” by VAR, and any handball was accidental - that it was only incompetence by the official! I hope the Referee’s Report is strong enough to ensure he and his assistant don’t get another game above Sunday U13 matches! Traff = Masterclass in technique, attitude and gamesmanship! UTC!!! Bring on more away games,
Trafford’s yellow was because after he had had his leg miraculously reattached, he walked to the goal then turned round and went back to grab his bottle, towel and read his notes. It was properly taking the mickey and I was laughing my socks off.
@@SDPlissken excellent, thank you sir!
He was amazing. Love the lad, what a double save. Great game for him. He's full of confidence now and can only keep going
Good luck for the match with Sunderland May the better team win from a Sunderland fan
Great show Natalie and Jonny thank you. 2 nil to the Clarets
Sunderland are 4th in the League in number of goals lol n 5th for conceding. There's not a lack of goals, we just had a period of drawing 5 in a row then losing 1 very unluckily v Sheffield U where there were 3 frustrating 0-0s thrown in and that Sheff U game where it's well established we got unlucky. Yes, there could be more goals, but literally every team on the planet thinks that, even 11/12 Barça. As for a striker that could score 20 a Season in the Championship, it already looks like we have that in Wilson Isidor - 8 goals in 23 games and that's with a noticeable dry patch. He didn't start the Season as a starter, or even a striker, and he's grown week in week out and he's shown he can pull a goal out of nowhere too. I think, just with the rest of the squad, he and Mayenda should be given the time to grow into their striker roles, which isn't always easy, Jamie Vardy struggled loads in his 1st Championship Season, and in his first Premier League Season, so who knows what one or both of them can do for us given time.
We are more than good enough to open Burnley up mayenda and isidor are rapid and on fire 🔥 I'm going for a 2-0 win all preasure on Burnley and if the crowd gets on their backs it could be a long night for Burnley HAWAY THE LADS FTM 🔴⚪️

Difficult to win at Ewood because nobody can play football on that pitch
I was there when Noel Brotherston was sent off, for a foul on Terry Cochrane. Think that was the year Cochrane scored a brilliant winner too.
When you were on Marks Blackburn End podcast, Natalie , he tried to claim that No nay never were pinching their song . Think Burnley originally sang the song, with Blackburn taking it up many years later .

On Ashley Barnes... He's all energy and enthusiasm he'll give the whole place a lift and maybe bang a few goels in as he knows his way around the box. Write him off at your peril, he's done it before, two seasons ago, yes, but everyone had already written him off... UTC! C'mon Aye aye Ashley Barnes.
