Hope you enjoyed Dublin :D
All I wanted was to find out if the catalyst has to be removed in order to extract the turbo unit off / away from the engine bay .... of course that's missing from the video :(
sorry. a long time since i made this video. No you dont need to remove Cat. I guess you"ve done it now.

Bad
Hi could you please tell me what beach this is thank you
Sossy for the late reply, the first beach is the left side of the warren and the second one is LLanbedrog. Both near Abersoch n. Wales.
This is a Legendary video for us 1.8 owners with a mission.
Excellent guide thanks, Terrance. Watched it through once and then went for it. Following your guide worked perfectly using minimal tools 👌
jedno z mála podrobných videí, inak škoda že niesú subtitle ale aj tak..vďaka
That is not an Orfe! It's a Carp. Same spieces as your Koi.
Love this...and you, two....and Wales! xxx
It's the left side of the Warren

Super nice. Thanks a lot :D
@12:26 That bolt snaps in EVERY video, and MINE snapped. I think it's meant to because Ford says you MUST replace it. I think it must be made weak in one turn direction? Something like that. I'm just gona use an ordinary bolt when it goes back, too.
You helped me quite a lot mate on my s-max 1.8 tdci (on ramps), very similar setup. You've given me confidence that I can get the Turbo off! I had given up a bit after 1st try. So THANKS! [EDIT] It's off! And I did it by just sliding the exhaust over and back and holding the turbo up with a bungee cord. No bent pipes, great. Thanks again!! BTW, my mechanic cousin said you should fill the turbo with oil using a syringe while turning the fan, and connect the feed pipe with the engine idling(don't push revs up). It's to get any air out.
A fost pe original brațul?
To add...2006 C-max 2L Ghia (18mm) similar to above video....N/S dead easy; good access. O/S more tricky, a/c pipe and a/c pump belly guard in the way of with-drawing the horizontal bush bolt; best to remove under-cover, bend a/c pipe out the way, remove a/c guard which also undoes the actual pump, but no worries; all then readily accessible; usual jiggling to get stuff to line up.
Thank you...Just about to tackle same job, x both sides, 2006 C-Max 2L petrol; looks very similar.
🤣🤣 brilliant 👏 love it lol 😆 😄
Currently sat in work on the night shift doing security just watched your video as my wife's Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCi the oil seals went on it yesterday it is filled the air box up with oil and the intercooler so when the weather picks up will be stripping it down your video has given me the confidence to do it myself thank you very much 10/10 😊.......
Cheers! :) I was there around 2 months ago. Great place indeed! :) Nice video..
Fantastic place and great hotel with goo service
How did you get there ?
@@terrencemay72 By plane
@@terrencemay72 Yes.. a great place indeed.. ((although I didn't like the food that much really)). Desert was always good but food? ?
As a tip for the spearfishing, get into the shallows around the rocks and weed - think 3 or 4 feet of water - stay quite still don’t swim about too much and you’ll find lots of mullet and bass 👍🏼
Yea mate been doing it years, I'm 80 starting to feel my age, still go diving in Egypt, this Wal out at st. Tudwell off Abersock, in the 80's we encounter a 10 ft. Blue shark at the seaward side of the island, not far from this video location. After many years in this fantastic place the sea is getting to cold for me.
@@terrencemay72 I know the area you were spearfishing in very well - amazing to hear about the shark! I know what you mean about the water temperature, it gets to me as well. Saying that, the modern spearfishing-specific wetsuits are very good indeed. They come in two pieces, open cell neoprene inside, top with a built in hood and bottoms with long johns… they will keep you very warm. I’d be very sorry to hear that you had to stop for want of a proper suit! If you’d like any tips for shallow spots you can dive (float!) and catch fish, I’d be very happy to help 😊
@@BR0SE1DON that would be good, if not for me my son would love to know. When I started snorkelling with my mate you couldn't buy a ready made wetsuit , you had to send your measurements and it arrived in a kit form, you had to glue it and then stick a yellow tape on the seams, That war a two piece suit and we had them many years. please leave info of your Wetsuit , regards Terry

Thanks Jack, nice to know iv'e helped in any way
I came here for the focus bumper tutorial and I'm unsure where I've ended up 😂
Strange times.
Hi the big silver pipe you removed from the top of the engine you had on the table what is it please ?
Not sure what it is called Rebecca but easily removed and put back.
@@terrencemay72 yes I found it its the old cooler for the egr but really thanks for your video I've just replace my turbo on a smax same engine but I can't find anything on a smax !!!
Oil cooler....
Just like to add, could have purchased a new wheel bearing with the right size holes but the old one was good and money was tight for the young owner.
What was the symptoms with the turbo
Sorry for late reply.it was just making a whooshing noise and not getting turbo power
Hi,my turbo has a whooshing sound,I think the mechanic didn't prime it ,I m not sure but started after he worked on the engine, that was last November when it started,do you think it will die soon?
Sorry for late reply, I hope you got it sorted
@@terrencemay72 no problema,yes,i replaced the turbo.thank You.
What brand is this towbar please?
☝️The mistake many other people make is that your car should not be on one side of the jack, but both sides on the jack. The second mistake is due to the pressure exerted by the stabilizer and its rod on the springs and the navel of the wheel, so both sides of the car must be hung! When opening the first you have to let go of the steering wheel, secondly open the top of the stabilizer which does not put pressure on the wheel axle, if you change everything from the bottom you go back the same way unless pressure is applied to the navel and the feather May be. And everything is connected under tilt pressure. Let me give you an example, suppose you go to a tailor to design a pair of trousers for you, then your leg will be measured. Ask!? Is the other side of your body exactly the same size as your other leg? Yes !? Now suppose you take off one of your shoes, will it no longer be !? Is there no pressure on your pelvis? Are you skewed? It will be just like a car.😉
you've gone from bumper on to bumper off and not shown how its done.
Good video
Thanks Mapnr keep safe
Thanks very much
Good job man! Hope you keep up with the videos!
sorry for late reply, hope you are sorted now
Sorry for late reply to all questions , but yes try to puit as much oil in the the place that the red bung was
I spent over an hour not getting the bolt in until I read your tip about using the jack and got it in right away. This was an aftermarket wishbone. I did the other side a week later using a different brand of aftermarket wishbone and the bolt went right in.
Sorry for late reply, but yes the after market will not be as good as a genuine one.
How long did it take you to do
Sorry for late reply Colin ,about four hours, I think.
Looks lovely, how are you both?
Sorry for the late reply, we are both fine, hope you are and keeping safe.
Yes a wonderful place. sorry for late reply, and thanks we are both good,
*OMG! ZETEC IS PETROL engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TDCI is diesel!!!! ZETEC TDCI DOES NOT EXIST!!!!!!!!!!*
You must know more than Ford, did you see the identification on the rear of the car ? Are you a member of the flat Earth society ?
@@terrencemay72 Ford Motor Company used the Zetec name on a variety of inline 4-cylinder automobile engines. It was coined to replace "Zeta" on a range of 1.6 L to 2.0 L multi-valve engines introduced in 1991 because Ford was threatened with legal action by Lancia who owned the Zeta trademark.[1] The company used the name widely in European advertising and later introduced it to the North American market with the Contour.
I was there for ages one day trying to get that bolt in and my dad came along and used a pointed bar to get it to line up.

Not attempted mine yet, but thank you for this video, top guy, I really could use a shallow pit, mine will have to be ramps and a jack. Question @Terry did you replace your sump gasket when removed? Mine leaked a while back and I bought a new sump and gasket, but it stopped leaking so never replaced it. Brillant video thank you once again. My 12 year old focus will live on now.
Half way through mine at moment very helpful thank you 👍
Thanks Barry., hope your ok with it, my Grandson has go mine now and it’s done a lot of carefree miles since. The only trouble I had since doing it was I did have a small oil leak on the return pipe, a new gasket solved it. Thanks again. Terry.
Ile let you know how I get on few more bolts tommorow n then ile get another turbo I just hope it’s that as the small blades still spin freely we will see all the bet 👍
