Wood Fired Oven Repairs
Переглядів 142Рік тому
So after a little over 2 years of use, I have decided to make a small repair/modification to my oven. When I initially set my oven door, I used an adhesive felt tape inside the door frame. My initial thoughts were that I would be able to get a tight enough fit which would prevent air from going between the door and frame of the oven. Well it did not stand the test of time. What I found was that...

Automatic Quail Watering System UPDATE!!
Please read the owners manual again, it specifically states to place generator 10-15’ from a structure..
That's so loud. Rockwool will help.
Wow man...just wow....what you've done is incredible! They ought to teach stuff like this in schools...but, that's another conversation! Thanks for the video!
No, with metal panels it will make too much noise and if it is too closed it can heat up your generator.
Just discovered this channel as I’m about to embark on my own journey. Mine is not nearly gonna be as complicated as this but lots of good points here. You should do a cost breakdown of this at the end if you kept track of that. I’m guessing this is in the tens of thousands of dollars by the time you’re done.
My man placed his generator in an eco chamber. I had to lower volume when he fired it up. 😂😂It looks nice though.
Need a fan to keep it kinda cool
I mounted mine permanently a Hundred ' from the house And have the gas line extended to it. You are going to get sick of listening to that generator that close to the house
The green light being on on your inlet wirhout the generator feeding it lets me know that it's not interlocked. Whatever "electrician" you used didn't do it correctly.
If you keep the generator inside that enclosure, you better consider heat buildup and exhaust. Closing the back and bottom will keep the critters and bugs from building a nest. If you have never had a mud dauber ruin a piece of equipment by building a nest inside next to a circuit board, you will if you leave them room to get in. P.S. Dry Pouring concrete is the worst idea ever, even for the posts. I remember you mentioning it here. ua-cam.com/video/8uxyLy4xvMk/v-deo.htmlsi=-i1ZlNKO-ByvXuLa&t=231
That's nice but you do know that steel siding will ampfly the noise ! I've used fiberglass panels cut from air conditioning duck boards and put the glass side not foil side to the inside this will absorb the sound and make it much quieter
The noise from the metal siding is the first thought that came to mind when I saw the photo in the video thumbnail.
You literally mounted your generator into the loudest possible "cover" imaginable.
Thanks for your concern and input! I do intent to add some 2inch insulation as a sound proofing. Please consider subscribing to my channel so you don’t miss the update!
Beautiful!
Seems very UNSAFE having it so close to the house, especially near a window, where carbon monoxide will seep thru. Should be at least 10' from the house. Do NOT enclose the whole thing. It MUST breathe. 🙏❤😏
You are SO right!!! That’s why the bottom of the enclosure are OPEN and that window is to our garage! 👍🏼
@1ModernPioneer Ok. Best of luck. 🙏❤😊
It looks like your gas tube along the ground is on the gravel. When that generator starts vibrating, I'd be afraid that tube will as well; creating holes in the tube by rubbing against the gravel.
That looks amazing holy crap
I want one 🥺
You have a very nice setup, I like the covering matching the garden. Have you calculated the natural gas from gasoline wattage. The cover looks big enough incase you go larger. Thanks for the great post.
I hope you didn't use that 12/2 wire to wire in that 50 amp plug. If you did your getting ready to burn your house down, that should be 6ga wire for that plug.
I used 6 gauge. I had an electrician help me connect that line and a plumber connect and run my gas line. It is to code where I live. Thanks for asking!
😂😂
Sweet!
I love how you go about your projects. Nonsense, practical, usable, cheap! I like cheap. Somehow you never look cheap in the end. You do great work. I have a very similar greenhouse and can tell you that the plastic does not hold up well to wind. I suggest sandbags or bricks all around the bottom to hold the plastic down. I used 10" wide raised beds all around the perimeter outside and that worked well.
Is it 20 or. 30 and your not getting stainless steel for 167 all misinfo
Too close to the window, fire code must be 5’ or further…sorry bruh!
Maybe make the enclosure fire proof…safety first.
That window is to the garage not the house. Thanks for your concern!
@@1ModernPioneerconcider a carbon monoxide unit for the garage and close areas it's best incase wind blowing
You have it right by a window.
That window is to the garage not the house. Thanks for your concern!
In the event a tornado would hit ( which I hope never happens to you ), what is the plan for exiting this if a car, tree or other heavy object gets tossed onto the top? You addressed the exit but in tornadoes rarely do things go as you might expect. Other concerns ( to me at least ) are broken waterlines flooding the space or a gas leak seeking the low point.
You didn’t measure when putting the posts in? Then stated: Do it once,do it right. Consult with your gas company about your choice in gas line material.
Mistakes will happen when you get out and try! Don’t let it intimidate you, you can overcome them!
That would make a pretty good emergency fuel storage space
wow that looks great!!!!
The pipe wrench is modern. Not really a antique.
You seem like an expert DIYer to me. Kudos.
@@prestonrenify thank you sir. I try! That’s all I can say. I share my material in the hopes that anyone else will benefit from it
Yes, this is so cool. Professional install...enjoyed watching them work so well in a small space. I like this product! Really cool to remove stairs for added occupant space. Family markings on concrete is cool too.
Thanks for sharing. I give you an A for effort, especially for including your children in the construction and screeding, kudos! However, you might reconsider some things about your enclosure: metal probably has very little soundproofing qualities, being open in the rear directs and concentrates gen noise toward your home, being so close to the window could expose your family to gen fumes and gas, that metal may have sharp edges and your children's little finger will surely find them, encourage you to childproof the entire installation. Take a good look at what others have done on YT. Enjoy having power during the next power emergency.

May I recommend more beagle shenanigans?
Nice work I'll will be using your design for my project. Thx
That would be way too close to the house for my liking.
From recent emergency weather conditions (Hurricane Helene) we learned that you can get carbon monoxide poisoning if you put the generator in the garage or in the house anywhere.
@@dc3898 definitely a very important consideration. Which is what led me to placing ours outside in a well ventilated area.
@@1ModernPioneer Just be cautious: I know of one family who set their gen outside next to their house and the CO made it inside their house via their eaves soffit vents.
Carbon monoxide poisoning is no joke take all the precautions for this.
It's is a nice structure but it is right beside a window. That is a big time risk. It should be 20 feet at least from the home with the home and the exhaust pointed away from the home. Please seal that window with plastic at least. I have confidence that you will fix it.
Good thing this generator set up right next to the window😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Are there two fireplaces? Is one of those used for cooking? It looks like an outdoor kitchen. What is the function of having two?
Hey @dc3898 thanks for the comment. Both doors are used for cooking. View the videos to learn the function of each.
thank you for sharing
Woluld love a list of hardware used from Nelson’s What size is top beam on yoke 6x12 x??
Hey man thanks for the comment. I made the beams by gluing THREE 2”x12”x24’ together. The hardware I used from Nelson’s treehouse Supply was the following: -static yoke kit -dynamic yoke kit -2x cable back up systems for the bottom tabs -then 4x SL Tabs. I will be using several paddle tabs but I hunt installed them yet.
Add a pressure treated 1X on top of the tri-beam. Gaps covered.
You probably wont see this comment but, Hang the turnbuckle from the top bolt (4:12) and the wire cable from the bottom of the yoke support.
@@billmacartney201 thanks for the comment. I followed “Nelson Treehouse and Supply’s” recommendations. According to their installation guide, they have the turnbuckle connecting to the end of the tab. Not up where the bolt is in the tree. I’m not sure how much a difference it would make either way.
Nicely done sir. Nicely done indeed. I have to build a similar one for a loft in my cabin.
Wow nice idea thanks for sharing sir
Thanks for posting this. Great design and implementation. That top hand rail extension is just a brilliant idea.
Bro is meticulous asfu! Yall see that gorilla tape application?! LoL. I built my first with my Grandfather... one of the first rocket scientists, and a NASA founder and Division Chief of Aeronautics. So It was WAY overengineered. And I daresay the old man would approve. 😊 The force is strong with this one.
I think your gonna be the new treehouse master. Very nice!

Coulda bought a can of spray paint for the 5 gallon bucket. I use a 5 gallon bucket and have to add 3 gallons of water twice a week. Your refilling will be funner than it has to be.
Nice, like mine but a double decker with 4 hutches. May i suggest drip pans from Auto Zone on a frame below wire to catch poop. The ones i got are 26"x 36" so they don't extend below the sandbox, just wire area. I also put a layer of sawdust on them and just dump them weekly into the compost bin
