Spring has sprung! Every year we prep our fields to try and grow the best crop possible. One step we take is to spread manure from our cattle on our crop fields and use nature's fertilizer to try and raise a bumper crop. This is a practice that has become less common over the years, but hey, we still do things the old fashioned way! Enjoy the video and stick around for part 2! Comment below you...
Taking Soil Samples To Ensure A 70 Bushel Soybean Crop
Переглядів 655 місяців тому
There's a lot of science that goes into farming that most never really understand. Today, we touch the surface of soil samples and how they help us judge what nutrients are the most vital for our soil, and how they help us achieve our ideal yield. While 70 bushels would be nice, most will never see that number here in our area. However that doesn't mean a guy can't dream! Follow along with toda...

The transmission problems come with the e4od transmission. I can’t even begin to explain how much I hate this transmission for so many reasons
You're doing great, keep the vids coming, I can't imagine how rough it is for farmers to get all their work done and produce videos at the same time. Sorry I haven't found your channel sooner but I'll do my best to catch up and get thru everything you have on here.
Nice farm!
Keep up the good work! If you’re trying to build your own channel I wouldn’t share your footage with other channels to profit from your work!!
Thank you for the kind words!
I have a 2020 590M and love it. I saw a video that was made and it was mentioned to just tighten up the two pivot bolts and forget the small pins. They are $30 for two of them. Thanks
i love your vids and your old machines man
Thanks so much man!
I have a xuv590m . I have 1200 miles of trouble free use. I do very much like the suspension, I ride with the big boys,on the trails I am always their behind them. It doesn't need more speed but more power Anyone tried any of the power chips available for the 590m
Why cant you drive the tractor and grinder out in the pen to feed the cows and leave the rest in the grinder until you need it. Its like you are making extra work for no reason. And dont say this is the way we have always done it.
Where we feed at gets real sloppy and muddy in the winter or whenever it rains, and we like to keep our equipment as clean as possible. And in reality, it takes longer to use the tractor and grinder to feed with than it does to use buckets. You could do it by yourself, but its a lot easier with two people to feed with the grinder, and two people aren't always available. Plus, we're not feeding that many buckets anyway. The most we feed at one time is 12, and 4 can be carried at once. It looks like more work to sit and unload into each bucket after we grind a full load, but when you get home after a 12 hour day its nice to just grab what you need and feed, than to drag out the tractor and grinder and drive around cows and mud and making sure you're unloading into the bunk.
Hand feeding cattle also makes them calmer and easier to handle and that is always a good thing.
didn't see a parking brake like my 2018 590e
MY 22 and later have the parking brake integrated in the transmission
any idea if my 590e ccoud be refitted with power steering?
I don't think the E's can

Yessir boss man
was their existing wiring from the bench seat that the 40/20/40 seats hooked up to? for the seat adjusting features
Yes they plug into a harness on the seat pan, and that harness plugs into the harness coming through the floor
@@that73farmer Awesome, thank you so much!
Suggestion: Condense this video down to 10 minutes. You'll get a lot more views.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Nice 355 NH grinder not many of them around any more.

I own a Z915E too! I love it so far
Looks like Lawrence county Indiana?
Close! Washington County !
Keep up the good work. I didn’t see any thing to criticize you on. Just keep on keeping on. It’s nice to see a young man working hard.
Thanks so much!
Keep the s10 video coming I’ve got a 1990 that I daily with 416k Those are some easy and reliable trucks.
I still grind a couple batches every week. It's one of my favorite chores.
Did you notice more room in the cab? More leg room more ceiling height?
No real difference in my opinion. But you do have more options for adjustments
I remember grinder corn for hogs back in the day
I remember those days of grinding corn cob meal back in the 50s. I remember just like it was yesterday. I always enjoyed it.
THAT 73 FARMER I LOVE THE VIDEO AND ALSO I REALLY LOVE YOUR FORD THAT IS ONE PRETTY TRUCK
Thank you so much! Glad you like it!
Nice content! I'm enjoying your videos young man. Keep up the good work
Thank you!
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks!
Thanks for the content!
Man this thing is so sick
Thanks man!
Is there ever any risk that water could get down into the engine through the exhaust or air intakes?
Not really. There’s enough smoke flowing out the exhaust that it’s going to blow any rainwater away before it can make it in. As far as the intake side, intakes are filtered which would catch most of the droplets that made it in. There’s little chance that water could get in anywhere else.
Did you have to drill new holes?
No, as long you have the pan for the seats, the pan with bolt right where the bench seat goes
I'm 80 years old... and I was around farming a lot of my life and on a lot of different machines and makes of tractors... and one of the things I learned from all those hours, was very simple... you got to be careful. You got to anticipate what could possibly happen before you get into a situation you can't get out of. You stay safe.
A farmer can always find something to do. Keep at it. It gets better and better. Looks like you have a girl friend with the right attitude. Its worth a fortune. Good Bless!
Looks like you’re having a great season. Really enjoy your channel. Keep it up.
I love that 4020 !
I still pick corn! I use a one row Oliver behind my John Deere 60 and a two row new idea behind my 70 standard gas
Please keep making videos I love it!
If a little bit of oil is good, more must be better. Don’t oil your slip clutches.
Depending on which way the wind blows, mowing stalks can be a dirty job, but it's a satisfying job.
Indeed it can be. However I must say that it is my favorite job on the farm
@@that73farmer Oh, I understand that! For sure!
like the two row corn cutter, they are long gone in Texas
You're the goofiest looking sob I've seen on utube
Dad pulled a one row New Idea picker with a Farmall M when he started farming in 1959. This video takes me back to my childhood. Thanks so much.
Where are you located in Southern Indiana?
Washington County
@that_7.3_farmer ah I grew up in Dearborn
Ditch the pull type picker and get a mounted one for the 4020!
Looking good be safe
I have really enjoyed both videos
Your doing a great job with older equipment and your videos are awesome
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the ride
You’re welcome!
We ran a 2 row on our 770 Oliver then upgraded to a 3 row 701 uni new idea in the late 90s
I hope your video makes it to big tractor power videos. I’d much rather watch small farmers like you than the big rich farmers that can buy new expensive equipment with out blinking an eye. It’s people like you and me that make a difference in the world. I hope your channel grows.
That iron your running was brand new when I was a youngster. You really take care of it. Thanks for taking me back. Great videos
No problem! Thanks for watching!
