    Not true, the Bible has a lot say about it @moreofroyaltyy Hebrews 9: 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment' God considers talking to the dead a detestable practice. He calls his people to be blameless: "Let no one be found among you who ... practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your God." (Deuteronomy 18:10 ) When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. (Isaiah 8:19-20, . God has repeatedly made it clear in his Word that guidance is never to be obtained from mediums, physics, or sorcerers, but rather, from the Lord himself . Read your Bible, do what it says

    Everything God intends for us to know is in the Bible. Aliens and other forms of life isn't an issue with me as I have concluded it's more imagination and fantasy than facts. Christians are supposed to be aliens according to New King James in the sense that Christians who love the world are not Christians, if you are aliens It means that you are not of this world but you belong to the Kingdom of heaven. It doesn't mean 'Aliens" in a sense of what most people think of when hearing that word. You say the bible doesn't say much about aliens. Well it says nothing about aliens, zero. As aliens were not even thought of when the scrolls were written. You cannot combine fantasy with Gods word which is fact.

    I have a theory here. Though some visionaries and mystics have said the war in heaven between Lucifer and God took place before the creation of the universal Cosmos; I disagree. God set Lucifer as the care taker of Eden which encompassed the whole of the universal Cosmos untill Lucifer ate of the knowledge which was luke unto the 11th circle of the Sephirot, the circle of vocality at the the throat. It's got both aspects of Chaos and repair. Before Adam and Eve, Lucifer thought he was the big cheese until the revelation of who was the Son of God, the Big Cheese. That's when, before the war but after Lucifer's sin of eating the fruit of Knowledge, Lucifer began to create things out of the resources of the earth and made monstrosities like dinosaurs and neanderthals. When Adam was made, Lucifer sent an albino Neanderthal who's name became known as Lilith but Lilith would chuckle at Adam who could not see his midriff including his genitals but had a constant erection he could not perceive, neither was he sex crazed, it was holy. This is when God said with Himself : man was not meant to be alone . In Genesis, you might recall that God called "their" name Adam and when Eve was separated from Adam called her Eve which translates to Woman, from the womb of man. At last bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh ! (Reference to Roman Triptych meditations by Pope St. John Paul the second c. 2003) When Lucifer got Eve anf Adam to eat the fruit of Knowledge, they once clicked and never used their vocal chords but now they were speaking their thoughts. When God came into their presents and found out, He set Lucifer to crawl upon his belly and took away his power to create anymore monstrosities or "aliens". Then came the watchers. After this second rebellion : God repented of his whole creation and swept them away.

    There was a short time I leaned Calvinist. Then for 20 years, I was neutral. I believed in Calvinstic view of election and predestination, and also free will and ability for all to believe or reject him. I just appealed to mystery. I truly find all that you said here as highly suspect. Wondering just how much study and pondering you've actually done. The Doctrines of Grace aren't just a bunch of doctrines to titillate the senses, and then to be traded in for self-salvation.

    • @MattPierceBlog
      @MattPierceBlog 21 день тому

      @@stegokitty Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I appreciate your passion for the depth and seriousness of the Doctrines of Grace. I actually attended a very prominent Baptist university here in Texas and studied a lot of theology there through my degree path. Though I will say that while going through a Southern Baptist school, I don't actually practice within that faith tradition these days. My intention is to approach these teachings with the utmost respect and diligence in study. It's important to recognize that these doctrines, rooted deeply in Scripture, challenge us to think profoundly about God's sovereignty, grace, and our faith. I agree entirely that these doctrines are not merely intellectual exercises and could go much, much deeper. I would also say that aren't totally about self-salvation. My understanding is that they compel us to confront our dependence on God's grace for salvation, contrary to any notion that we might save ourselves. My aim in discussing these topics is to explore how they shape our understanding of God's character and our relationship with Him, and how they call us to live out our faith in a way that reflects His grace and truth. If there are specific areas where you feel the discussion is lacking or perhaps misrepresented, I’d be genuinely interested in hearing more. I value your insights and would welcome the opportunity to deepen our conversation. It’s through such exchanges that we can better understand these profound truths and support each other in our spiritual journeys. I encourage you to be open to discussing some of these points in more detail. Perhaps we could look together at particular Scriptures or theological writings that you’ve found especially illuminating. I believe this could help both of us grow in our understanding and appreciation of these crucial doctrines.

    Calvinism has some good components, but it goes too far. The eternal decrees of God are the foundation of calvinistic theology. In fact, Calvinism argues that God has decreed all things that come to pass. So if you commit a sin, God had already decreed for you to commit that sin. You are still responsible for your sin, however. Divine election is the centerpiece of Calvinism. Before the foundation of the world God chose who would eventually be saved. God's choice is not based on His knowledge of anything about that person. It is simply His good pleasure to save some people for His ultimate glory. The whole system of Cavinism rests upon decrees made by God before time began. These are difficult concepts that can easily be misunderstood. Calvinism errs by saying grace is irresistible. Calvinism errs by stating that Jesus only died for the elect. The truth is that Jesus died for everyone and grace can be resisted. However, Calvinism correctly states that we are saved by grace alone and that God deserves all the glory.

    • @stegokitty
      @stegokitty 21 день тому

      //Calvinism errs by saying grace is irresistible// Wrong. The Scriptures are clear that unregenerate men ALWAYS reject the Holy Spirit and thereby the grace of God. The ONLY grace that is irresistible is that which is applied to the elect, which guarantees the salvation of all whom the Father has given to the Son. Jesus' death is SUFFICIENT for the entire world, and in fact sufficient for the sins of everyone on every planet if the universe was filled with sinners (I don't believe in life on other planets BTW, just an illustration), but His death is EFFICIENT ONLY for the elect. If His suffering and death were applicable to every person, then what, pray tell, are people being punished for in Hell? No one but the sinner keeps them from coming to Christ in faith and repentance. And actually you cannot consistently say that salvation is by God's grace alone if you hold to the notion that regeneration of the sinner by the work of the Holy Spirit is not necessary for the sinner to come to Christ in faith and repentance. No matter how you slice it, you end up having something with which you can boast in your salvation.

      @@DanielBShaw Here's part of the problem with the first sentence of your response (the rest of it was 100% correct) -- Jesus said "I lay down my life for the sheep (John 10:15) ... my sheep know my voice and will not follow another (John 1)14, 27) ... you do not believe because you are not my sheep (John 10:26)" and of course this all has even more detail cementing these facts. Another problem with your first sentence is where does end? Did Christ die for the sins of people already in Hell? To what end? Just as Jesus didn't waste His breath saying useless things, He also didn't waste His time doing useless things. I believe part of the problem is that folks get too busy in trying to figure out who God's elect are. God has revealed some things to us, like the fact that indeed He has foreordained whatsoever comes to pass, and that the elect are a fixed number and can neither be increased nor decreased; and God has chosen (wisely) to not reveal things to us such as WHO these elect persons are. God does no one any injustice by not applying the death of Christ to some sinners while showering other sinners with His grace. It's exactly what we see in what Christ says through Paul in Romans 9. But you definitely got it right in the rest of what you said -- God must grant faith and repentance to the sinner in order for those things to happen (Acts 11:18), so that no one can boast, not even in their faith and repentance, which are both gifts from God, and which are only effective in people who've been regenerated by the Holy Spirit -- which is also a gift, since if you were to ask, out of your unregenerate estate to be regenerated, not only would it be an impossible task (since the unregenerate sinner loves his sin and hates the true God), but also it would indeed give you the opportunity to boast in your salvation, because that other slob sitting in the pew heard the same gospel and didn't respond positively. Hopefully this is helpful.

But I get where you're coming from and those verses can be taken in 10,000 different contexts. That being said so much in any religion could be taken into various contexts. @MattPierceBlog 21 день тому

      For sure! I mean you are entitled to believe how you wish. Being repentant is a huge part of faith. So is being kind, non-judgmental, and peaceable.Jesus' teachings tells us that not being a peacemaker-living in ongoing strife, harboring resentment, or refusing to seek reconciliation-can have serious spiritual implications, disrupting one's relationship with God and with others. But check this out--His emphasis is always more on the transformative potential of following God’s ways, including the call to peacemaking, rather than a punitive focus on those who struggle with it. In essence, the teachings of Jesus encourage a proactive pursuit of peace as integral to the life of a believer, reflecting the peace and reconciliation God offers through Christ.You bring up some very valid discussion point.

    Hi Matt. I think you explained Calvinism well enough though this view heavily implies that we are just pre-programed automatons (with no real free will) and the world and humanity is some kind of Godly experiment where everything is preordained with the human species being totally degenerate because of something Adam and Eve did yet man remains responsible for his present condition? Gee what an unhealthy spiritual view of our Maker that is. Will your kids be saved? Well that's down to a roll of the dice right there, including ourselves. I thought Jesus told his disciples to share the gospel with the world but what is the point if this world view is accurate? Just where is the 'good news'? it's all about the luck of the draw to me.

    • @MattPierceBlog
      @MattPierceBlog 21 день тому

      Hey, Kevin! I want to start off by saying that I think these are very valid points and I myself am not Calvinist and this is just my general understanding of the belief system for the sake of conversation. It’s true that Calvinism, particularly its doctrine of predestination, raises challenging questions about free will, human responsibility, and the nature of God's involvement with the world. These are significant theological topics that Christians have wrestled with across centuries and I think that having these conversations is really good growth. The way that I understand it is that Calvinism does indeed teach that God preordains everything that happens, but this doesn't necessarily reduce humanity to 'automatons' without any real free will. Many Calvinists would argue that humans do make real choices, but these choices are also part of God's sovereign plan. It's a complex interplay between divine sovereignty and human action, not always easy to fully comprehend or explain. Regarding the question of evangelism and its purpose, if everything is predestined: Calvinists believe that the preaching of the Gospel is the means God has ordained to bring about the salvation of His elect. From this perspective, evangelism is crucial because it is through hearing the Gospel that people are moved by the Holy Spirit to believe and are saved. Thus, rather than diminishing the role of evangelism, predestination gives it eternal significance-God uses it to achieve His redemptive purposes. You also raise a really strong point about the 'good news' of the Gospel. Calvinism seems to say that the good news is profoundly good because it declares that despite our inability to turn towards God on our own, God lovingly chooses to save a multitude no one can number, from every nation, tribe, and language. This underscores not randomness but the unmerited grace of God. It's understandable to feel unsettled when considering these doctrines, especially if they seem to suggest that matters as important as salvation are left to a 'roll of the dice.' Yet, from the Calvinist viewpoint, it’s not about randomness or luck but about a God who is actively and lovingly sovereign over His creation. Ultimately, Calvinists find comfort in the assurance that God’s will is both good and purposeful. Our discussions on these topics are vital-they help us explore the depth of God's character and the profound mystery of His work in the world. Thanks for joining into the discussion and for listening! I REALLY appreciate it!

North Beach was considered ghetto, And crime ridden for the most part. And it kind of was not the best place to live. I worked at Best Western Sandy Shores ,what is now The Raddison. Before the Lexington came along. Every time I go back there, I have to go to North Beach. And to this day, I miss the hell out of that little island under the bridge. As you say, your video is “subjective”;but you show very little of the positive and quite a lot of the negative. I was born here in 1945 and moved away in 1954. I was able to get back for two visits in 1956 and 1962. Each time I cried when I had to return to Illinois. Fast forward to 2000 and my late husband brought me back to Corpus to reminisce. I felt so happy to be home again. Of course, some of the old familiar areas were sad to see, but the ones that had been most important to me had thrived. My old neighborhood is now part of the historical section of town and is still idyllic. My old church is even better, if that’s possible. The writer Thomas Wolfe said, “You Can’t Go Home Again”. Well, he was wrong in my case. If you think we’re comparable to Detroit, go spend a winter there. I moved back here in 2011 and thank God every day that I did.
