Wobble Zone / Acceptable Sight Picture
Переглядів 824День тому
Deliberately rushing shots at the 560m IPSC to show that an enormous wobble zone is a horrible problem to ignore... You will always have at least some movement, this is unavoidable but can be more effectively managed with better positioning, breathing, support equipment etc. . Slowing down slightly, controlling the rifle / breathing / movement allows much more refined wind holds and spotting im...
Barrel swap on an Accuracy International AXSR

Sneaky bush swap from the 18.5" .308 to a 24" 6.5CM... . All you need is one minute, 4mm hex, 49inlb torque limiter, shifter (probably not needed but helps with stumpy barrels). . One rifle, one scope, one bipod, almost unlimited possibilities.

Speed test... Impact 4000 vs LRF Binos vs Kestrel
Переглядів 1,4 тис.10 місяців тому
A loose demo of of the workload reduction between using a rifle mounted LRF with onboard ballistics software (Vortex Impact 4000) versus a pair of LRF binoculars with onboard ballistic software (Sig Kilo 10K ABS) and finally using the same LRF Bino's to obtain a range only prior to manually entering this data onto a Kestrel 5700X handheld unit. . What an amazing time to be a precision rifle sho...

Triad Tactical - Precision Rifle Carry Case

Triad Precision Rifle Carry Case The Triad Precision Rifle Carry Case (PRCC) reaches a happy place in the search for a padded soft case for precision/scoped rifles. Most "military style" drag bags, or products being sold as such, have features that are not needed by the vast majority of users, even those in military or law enforcement rolls. The PRCC has done away with some of those over the to...

Is this in New Mexico?
@@ArmadilloMilk this is at Cameo shooting complex in Colorado 👍
@@lowvisgear6816 looks very similar to a place I go hunting in northeastern New Mexico
Time to add a 50 to your own collection mate? 👍
@@stuartgillahan Man… Would love a 375… These rifles are almost impossible to get I believe here!
@@lowvisgear6816 I remember seeing one of the accuracy international 50's on abused guns a couple of years ago, can't rember if it was an AX50 or an older model though
Thanks for the vid! That was a quick change! What’s your experience been with the AXSR? Specifically the trigger reliability? I wanted to purchase the AXMC for the “OG” AI trigger as I heard it’s more reliable, but since it’s discontinued it’s harder to find. Wondering if I should try to find a used AXMC (and get the SFP bolts) or purchase a new AXSR. (I’m in the States though - not sure if the Australian AXSR uses a different trigger. I know England got a “Mk III” that wasn’t available in the US and had some differences).
@@Richthe1stest have done a bit with the AXMC, to be honest I think the AXSR is a definite upgrade. Have never had an issue on either trigger for those two rifles. The AXSR is not an AT-X style competition trigger, it’s still a two stage but is clean, crisp and deliberate without being heavy. It’s a good compromise. . You’d be hard pressed to go wrong either way, but the AXSR has a lot of good features (arca / grip shape / two pos safety etc.) that are hard to pass up. 👍
So cool😺

very helpful video, cut out all the BS
Fuck yeah. Do need.
Who cerakoted that rifle?! 🤤
Delta Tactical in Australia here, a bit of work!
@@lowvisgear6816 Bummer! I’m trying to find someone in the U.S. who can cerakote an AXMC. Yours came out great though! 🤙🏽
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Underrated and always professional
Super helpful info man! Thank you
J, Is there a need for spikes in legs of the tripod ?
Have never really liked spike feet anything… They’re good in soft ground but don’t work well on concrete and are absolutely not great for shooting off anything slippery or expensive (car 😂). Rubber feet are fine.
Love your no nonsense advice mate, keep em coming!
The only, only issue I have is the clamshell that everybody seems to be going to these days. In the field, you have that opened and you get bumped you have no time to zip up. You must throw that on your back or over your shoulders and break contact. What happens to all the gear? it ends up all over the ground. That is the benefit of top loaders in the military and why most continue to use them. For hunting or LE, no issues. But I've moved fast with the old Mystery Ranch tri zip and at least with that I had the option of how far to open it. Be call to see a mixed clamshell/top loader design in future models for those that need it.
Valid point man, thanks for the feedback! . I get it, having carried an Alice pack & MR Komodo tri-zip for years also, there is a lot of merit to top loaders for mil use. . The dual horizontal compression straps on the ISR, if you leave the bottom one clipped up, the lid only half opens, limiting access but also stopping the bottom half’s gear coming out. . Pros & cons for both. . We would like to make a top loader pack at some point, 2024 version of the Alice, but simple and useful with tripods. . Thanks brother 🫡
@@lowvisgear6816 Now that I'd be really interested in. Simple straightforward. Mystery Ranch makes a great Alice just doesn't have the sleeping bag compartment and you just pointed out no tripod holder or rifle carry.
In most real life scenarios you'll have to have your binos out to spot tho. So maybe add in spotting with binos, it'll probably make the times equal.
Looks great mate
Hey jimbo, no sound !

Good video
Great video, love using a sling while on a tripod
It was possible to find targets with binoculars, record corrections and quickly shoot everything. much faster than in the video. or is it just an advertisement for the impact 4000?
I get what you’re saying, I wasn’t being biased towards any of the three gear sets. . This is our main training area, the targets are visible by eye and we shoot them constantly so finding them is a non event. . More so showing off how little movement there is required to get things done. . A better demo might be someone who is unfamiliar with the area perhaps but, only the first run would show them actually ‘finding’ the targets… . You use 3 different people, doing each job and again you’d probably see other variables come in. . Having spent some time on it now, the Impact is awesomely quick, but you still at least want binos to look at and find things before bringing the rifle to it generally. 👍
@@lowvisgear6816 I also often shoot at metal. our training is such that we do not know where the targets are and what distance to them. you have to look through binoculars, measure and immediately record corrections and create a firing card. of course, the impact 4000 is an excellent device, I had one, but our production is called Vampire solo. he also calculates ballistics and displays a correction on the screen. In my profile, you can watch this video where I work with this device, the distance to the targets was from 450 meters to 1100 meters. This is not an advertisement and I'm not arguing, just a discussion with a person who understands me. Good shots, my friend.
Game changer!
👍
This is dope! The only real benefit/need for the binos I think is finding targets
As always mate, gear that just works!!
Excellent work mate! You have come so far. . Question- are you thinking any spin offs from this ? Mike R. sends his best 👊👍
Going from strength-to-strength mate, good stuff.
That looks like a very feature rich pack mate. I'll have to look at getting one in the new year.

GTG !
Looks killer for huge targets like in the video. How would the dots work with smaller 8-12" targets at 800-1200yds? I don't use more than 12-15x mag so would those dots obscure the smaller targets?
www.nightforceoptics.com/technology/reticles/horus-tremor3-reticle-illuminated/ Hey man, it doesn't appear they have the actual measurements listed however, BY EYE, the small sized tremor wind dots are approximately 0.05 mil wide while the larger wind dots are approximately .1 MRAD wide. This may present some issues at longer distance, but much like the centre of a crosshair will also. To be honest, I don't think it's never been a concern, it has never stood out as a hindrance. The gongs we have up at the farm there are primarily IPSC size 360 degree targets, we have some 10" and similar gongs on stakes but again it's not an issue at 500-700m using wind dots. Often you're not going to be exactly on a wind dot for a final hold anyway, in between wind brackets (eg shooting in 7mph cross wind, for a 5mph rifle)
@@lowvisgear6816 Got it, thanks for the reply man. I ordered an Atacr with the Tremor 3.
