Yes, absolutely remove the stickers before you use this cookware. There will most likely be a sticky residue left behind from these stickers that should be removed with a product like Goo Gone. Then you can wash and dry the cookware, and it will be ready to use. I bought one of these 5 quart Le Creuset braisers several years ago. I agonized over my decision to buy it. I wondered if I would ever use it enough to justify the high purchase price. The answer was a resounding yes! It turned out to be my most frequently used piece of cookware. It is great for stovetop cooking as well as oven use. The thick cast iron evens out heat distribution and will make any meats you cook in it incredibly tender and juicy. Because it is so thick, you need to preheat it slowly, gradually increasing the temperature over a period of 5 to 8 minutes BEFORE you add any cooking oil or butter. When the oil starts to shimmer, it's time to begin adding the food. This big pan will brown foods just fine with no need to use high heat. My husband loved chicken dishes, so I've made a lot of chicken Marsala, Mediterranean chicken, chicken piccata, chicken pot pie filling, and so many more in this big braiser over the years. I've also cooked a lot of beef and pork dishes in it, all on the stovetop. It works magic on meats and makes them super tender and delicious. Oh, yes, it works just as well in the oven. The pan and lid alone weigh a hefty 17 pounds when the braiser is empty! Add a 5 pound beef brisket, veggies and sauce and you might need help getting it in and out of the oven! 😅
