The Iconic Willys Jeep
Переглядів 312 роки тому
The Jeep was developed in 1940, when the United States Army issued a request for a new vehicle that could be used to replace the existing fleet of motorcycles and cars. A number of companies submitted prototypes, but it was Willys-Overland that won the contract with its design for the Jeep. The Jeep was a small, four-wheeled vehicle that was powered by a four-cylinder engine. It had a rugged, d...

Переглядів 44 тис.5 років тому
The USMC KA-BAR was adopted by the Marines as well as the Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Underwater Demolition Teams. Years after World War II, many KA-BAR knives were unofficially reactivated in the Korean, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom conflicts. Today, we look back on the KA-BAR's impact on the Marine Corps and the legacy it has made. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Taryn Escott)

Hahahah SHOW ME HOW TO REMOVE THE HAND GUARD IT SUCKS
I own a Ka-bar, just a knife I wanted to have. I'm not even American. I bought one each for my sons as well.
KA-BAR was not the only company to make this style of knife but no matter who made it, they were all called KA-BARs.
You’re making the money, so EARN IT !
The tang needs to be thicker, because they will bend!😢😂
1:00 Never mind the knife, I want the hat.
I had a Ka-Bar Big Brother Bowie knife, I swedged it to a wicked fierce backcut and used the hell out of it. I liked it but I noticed the tang had actually bent some. I didn't want to break it so I stopped using it & later sold it to a buddy who wanted it.
70 years on and massive technological advancements and they are still usimg a rat tail tang on this blade. They could easily make it a full tang knofe at no extra manufacturing expense. Go full tang anf it would be worth the price they charge. Who wants to pay all that money for a knife that is not made to it's full potential? I wouldn't take a Kabar, any make or model, if they paid me to take one. I have knives that I paid less than half what Kabar is charging and are twice the quality and infinately more reliable.
I stick with the 1211 Kabar without the USMC stamp. I never had the honor of serving. To me, it just wouldn't be right to carry one with those emblems. God bless our Vet's 🇺🇸
It depends on perspective, really. If you carry a KABAR with the service branch symbol on it and you never served, you could just be honoring that branch, and you like it. However, if you're telling people you served and you never did, then that's stolen valor, then I agree you shouldn't be carrying it with the stamped branch of service on it. But, do what you feel most comfortable with. I ordered the US Army version and will receive it next week. I never served, but I do appreciate our military.
No one cares lol
I've got a Cattaraugus 225Q that needs a bit of a makeover. I think when that's done, I'm getting a KA-BAR so my 225Q doesn't feel so lonely in my bag.
" men and women " ?!.........you didn't mention " trans " or " child lovers " or " animal lovers "+++........... CANCELLED COMRADE !
I bought one. I use it as a woods knife it works well enough for what I use it for.
Bunch of right wing racists and fascists pumping out some of the crappiest production blades in the industry. I'd buy a Chinese fixed blade before any of this trash.
I've seen the guy in the little boys hat before
Aquaman ira al rescate del drone bajado por los rusos
Didn't realize FDR had such a hard heart. The two who gave themselves up should never have been executed, but for their actions the sabotage might have taken place.
Having a hard heart towards the enemies of America is a good thing.
Dasch and Burger were not executed. Dasch was sentenced to 30 years in prison but was back in Germany by 1950. Burger was given a life sentence. I'm not sure what became of him.
This what every high school graduate needs in this country.
after the first month your hardened enough to not care if you fight or not. I got into 3. after the second month your making faces at the recruit on the other side of the Baracks while he is being yelled at by DIs , while he's trying his best not to laugh lol lol. FYI. If they feed you spaghetti for a job well done and more then 3 min eat it.. Don't fill up... Most likely they are going to find anything to get mad about ,and make you drink both your canteens back at barracks. Next will be cleaning it up. Echo company 1999...💪
I am an army infantry veteran and I have to say I carried a usmc ka bar on all three deployments.
It’s fcking funny that’s what it is the drill instructors just put on a show that’s all it is all they do is think of random things and yell them it’s funny
It’s dumb as hell 😂
Have to assume you’ve never stood on the yellow footprints.
I did.... and unfortunately hes not wrong.
@@infinity6435 shit bag alert
Don't do it. I did back in 2011. But Emma and her two moms have it now.
Thank you for your service man hope you are doing good now and are enjoying being home🖤
Way to go captain America! Making historical legend once again! :)
And yet Ka Bar finds it impossible to make another small run of USCG knives…you make knives…that’s all you do🤦♂️
Btw a real kbar is full tang there’s a video on the knives from the company you watch the assembly and it’s one solid piece of steel
THE NAME KA-BAR WAS TRADEMARKED IN 1923, BUT THAT KNIFE TYPE IS VERY OLD. I HAVE SEEN JUST THE SAME BLADE WITH THE SAME LEATHER HANDLE IN ANTIQUE SPANISH KNIVES. BUT PROBABLY THE ORIGIN OF THE BLADE IS FROM MIDDLE EAST. NO MATTER THE ORIGIN, IT IS A WORLD ICONIC KNIFE.
As kid always wanted a ka bar then my brother join the marines in 2010 and it made me want one even more so I save up but only had enough for a knock off one then fast forward a few years 2019 I’m a adult got my own house and then bought a official ka bar knife after that two more years go by and my brother has retired from the marines and he tells me cool tricks and things it can do and other ways to grip it.
M1, M1911A1 Colt .45, and Kabar then, an M4, or AR15, Glock 19, Kabar today.
The best knife in the world in my opinion.
I have my dads -USMC 1955. Still looks great and it sits next to his flag case on the mantle.
Former USMC from three deployments to Vietnam. They are part of the Marine Corps.
This video has very little to say about how this knife is made. Instead it gives a very abbreviated history of the knife.
Shout-out to Captain America for helping to create one of *the* most iconic knives in the world.
Cool! I just got a single mark kabar 1213. I love mine.
Blood groove?? Come on, man!
It's actually called a fuller
I got crayons 😂
I have three. Got my first one in 1969 when I joined the service. When I was a teenager back in the 60s, Kabar would have ads in the back of Sports Afield and other magazines. It said our blades are so strong, a 180 lb man can stand on the handle with only one inch of the blade clamped into a Vice. And it showed a pic of a guy standing on it. Ever since then I wanted that knife. The three of them are as good today as the day I got them. Love my Kabars
Awesome video, you can check out a Korean War era knife I feature on my channel if you like, thanks
After more than 60 years not a single person gets the idea of making a stronger tang for this knife????? Give it a stronger tang and you become one of the best knives in the world. Wake up!
Haha rat tang go brrrrrrrreak.
I agree. The same design visually, just with a true full tang.
@@Mister_Ess I would pay more for a full tang KBar
I also can’t wait for it to happen.
Spartan blades are making a premium version of the usmc Kabar, with magnacut steel, it doesn’t look hugely different in design but they believe it will be stronger, we will see I guess.
Marketing crap! Blood groove? As a knife manufacturer, they should know and say it's a fuller. Full of bull!
Its marine jargon
@@Alamyst2011 Exactly! I'm A Marine Myself. (Once A Marine Always A Marine) I Served 1983 - 87. And "Blood Groove" Is How We Always Referred To The Ka-Bar Fuller. Just As The Scarlet Stripe Down the Outside Seam of Non-Commissioned Officers Blue Trousers (Dress Blues), Has Always Been Referred To By Marines As A Blood Stripe.
@@jaguarwarrior866 I never had the honor to serve. My grandfather and great uncle were both Marines. And when they taught us kids about the K-bar it was called a blood groove.
I’ve had mine 26 years, and I’ve abused and used the heck out of it for so many things since I first got it as a young marine. It’s in my bag every day!!
The marine corps version of Captain America is the captain who’s last name was America and who helped create the Ka-Bar Knife he is the true Captain America
I snorted when I heard him say that... I didn't plan on having any hot sauce in my nostrils this morning, but here we are.
Very underrated channel
What a great mini documentary on an interesting topic. Too bad it has so few views.
First speaker has an amazing ASMR voice.
I blow out scented candles a with my 1911, use my AR-15 to start my BBQ and cut my pancakes with my Ka-Bar.
Love this piece.
Semper Fi Marines.
wait so is the grip *ALL* leather? I though it was made of wood with bits of theatre in the groves.
Celestial Salamander its compacted leather. It doesn’t feel like a leather couch or a leather jacket. I have one and it is AWESOME.
Feels like a softer wood but its actually leather
Wood wouldn't hold up to water and such.
