this is a man five of us met at the beach on may 17, 2008. if you don't get it, fine. he's very drunk, and this was basically what half the night was, listening to his drunk stories and commentaries. the video isn't important, because it was completely dark outside aside from the bonfire. just listen to the audio. keep in mind we had just met him roughly 30 minutes to an hour before this...

they discussed that they were thinking of what song to play next, and marty and dave started riffing on this and marty sang maybe five words, then the whole band went into it. unreal. and i was literally four or so feet from the stage. i think theres some crowd singing, dont let it bother you.

Man look at his shaking at the beginning and the end. He surely took or was at ...something. Doesnt change anything of his best song. Just great.
I think he was clean during this time. He wrote 'To record only water for ten days' after rehab.
It looked like he was tweaking, but I'm not judging. It could've been nerves. Regardless, I love this man and I'm glad he's still with us.
johns voice better than anthony
Glad this video is still here after so many years !
Esta poseído mi loco ❤💔
Who is here after John's return?
ending up like john, singing with gold voice, playing guitar like god , even with not his teeth, and fucked up skin on arms makes me wanna start doing heroine
Lo amo, estoy segura.
!!!QUE PODEROSO SER HUMANO!!! ME SIENTO HONRADO DE COINCIDIR CON ÉL EN LA MISMA ÉPOCA! INMENSAS GRACIAS POR SUBIR ÉSTE REGISTRO!!!! Un abrazo desde Chile!
I come here almost twice a day.
Genius Frusciante.. Thanks for posting.
The lyrics can mean what ever you want them to, how songs make you feel is the best thing in the world in my opinion. The pure emotion Frusciante puts in his songs is amazing, even stripped down to just vocals and acoustic they're still beautiful. Some how this man can draw tears to my eyes with ease, anything from his work with chilli peppers to his solo stuff. Not to even touch on how amazing of a guitar player he Is, ever since I picked up the guitar John Frusciante was my biggest inspiration not just with his tracks but also his live performances, his Jams with Flea and Chad are phenomenal. How everything he plays just seems to be perfect and it feels as if every note he puts his soul into, his guitar faces which would seem to be ugly are some how beautiful. This man truly opened my eyes to music, a whole other level which I never thought was there. I have an octopus on my arm dedicated to John Frusciante and the chilis asterisk on my wrist, just because they mean so much to me and I never want to forget what this band has done for me. Thank you to John Frusciante. And thank you to the Red Hot Chili Peppers
comment of the year 2019. bravo
@@louier9033 thank you very much my friend!

silentiom I’m not surprised you don’t know ....lmao
silentiom lmao yea you are
How high is he?
the guy behind john is an idiot
666 like
We miss you john
he's not dead...
Exactly man, he's still among us :D
HE'S BACK
RIP
Amo demais, suas músicas tocam meu coração ❤
whats with the fucktards in the background walking around during this performance? what a distraction. How much you wanna bet if it was nickelback or some deuch group this wouldn't happen. They should be honored to have someone as amazing as he is playing in their rundown little shit hole of a radio station. They should learn some respect and fire those two clowns for being so unprofessional.
maninblack132 calm down
This song is perfect! Thanks for all Jhon!!
He's so fucking good.
I think its the same guitar as he used in the "past recedes" music video...goes to show you he doesn't need the best and brightest new guitar, being one of the all time great guitarists...he prefers to keep it simple, familiar and comfortable with what he has known for years. He probably still drives the same car too...money doesn't distract him from creating his art
+Jarrett Luthy he doesn't drive, he never got his license
+eddie byrne oh...that wasn't really my point tho
i know, but it ties into what you say because the reason he never got a license is because he was to busy playing music
The guitar he is playing here and on the entirity of his album Curtains is an amazing vintage pre-warMartin 00-15. So no he does not need the best equipment, but he certainly has some really really good equipment.
His Gretch guitar costs like 3.000$ and he had a pedalboard bigger than my house lmao.So i guess he keep it simple is his personal life, but when it comes to create art he wants to take the best of it! I think that Martin 00-15 costs like 1.200$
Full of feeling! Oh, John! :)
Indi Sugar Taufik :)
So singt ein Superstar!
That was insanely entertaining. Thanks for that.
I am in love with this Californication outro. Thank you!
john lindo!!!
el mejor
I think i found the secret for that voice of his! Its apple juice! Trust me! I am an engineer!
toronto it is, young street actually! when music was real!
So the key to all his success is apple juice...I need some of that shit.
He is craving sugar like crazy from withdrawal. Plays the song at a higher tempo. He's dying to get this gig over.
@@backstage4035 He was sober here for like 3 years so idk what ur on about.
@@aleksastamenkovic5526 he was on crack...
@@Nobody2879 No he wasnt. In the earlier years he was, but in this video no.
john was sober since 97', what are you talking about@@aleksastamenkovic5526
stupid comment about flea having a shirt on
absolutely not
do you know what strings does john use on his martins???
i wish he could want me as much as he wants the juice
wtf
I've first heard this song in early 2002, on a dark freeway after dusk, with the lights of industrial ruins zipping past and my mind all set on melancholia. That's the feeling I still associate with this song: Cautiosly Apocalyptic. If that doesen't make sense for you.... well, I sincerly hope you've got your own feelings.
InnerPartisan That is a phenomenon with almost every Frusciante song - it's deeply connected to the emotion that you have when hearing it first
That is so perfect it's my dream
@IHaveGuitaritis I agree, from what I can tell about the quality of the camera the audio is surprising. I'm sure it isn't anywhere near what it sounded like live, however.
APPLEJUICEFUCKYEAH
God that harmonica gets me every time..
