Competitive hot air ballooning. Pilots launch from 1km+ away from a series of targets and then have to fly as close as possible to an "X" on the ground. We mark our place with the baggies. Check out some of our other videos and it can make more sense :D ua-cam.com/video/nCoKrmV9JO0/v-deo.html

We fly with a GPS and moving map to show headings, bearings, altitudes, etc.

There are some events that do some smaller 1 maybe 2 target comps. Would be awesome to have a bigger competition there though!

Bill was flying in the GTBR competition. They were flying to a different set of targets than the Nationals and Young Guns targets so we missed them unfortunately 🙁

Agree to disagree. Computers have added to the safety and awareness of piloting and allowed more creative tasks that wouldn't be possible without them. 😃

They totally are! The open nationals has a few women that do attend the event. Events like this serve as a spring board that will hopefully bring more to attend.
