I had a great time, very relaxing, great weather, etc. My only negative was the hotel, Mare St. Claire. The staff, with the exception of Rodrigues (security) , was horrible. It was as if they hated their job. They were very unfriendly and lacked enthusiasm for guest services. I work at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Ct and providing a warm feeling of hospitality/guest services is paramount. This facility provides space for time share ownership and hotel guests with the later being secondary. There was no open restaurant in the facility. On Friday upon arrival, my wife and I wanted to eat , so we had a hamburger at the bar, however, when we came down later that evening around 8 p.m.for dinner, we were told the kitchen had closed at 7:30 p.m. The so-called Cueva Bristo Market (inside the hotel) was closed! In fact this was the only place that you could buy a snack, coffee, muffin, sandwich (horrible)! The beautiful pool that they displayed on their website and UA-cam - had been closed since the beginning of January (under construction??). The access to the beach was perfect. Access to other local attractions, i.e., casinos, shopping (Plaza Las Americas) was perfect.! We were told by one guest that 6 years ago this was the place to be, however, since new owners took over about a year ago, things took a turn for the worse!

Isla Verde Beach and Mare St Clair Hotel; which is originally known as ESJ Towers and ESJ Azul, will always be my most ever favorite vacation spot. I have been there before. I always love it there. I always love to get back down there.
