2024 BMW R1250 GSA What is this Plug for?
Переглядів 6587 місяців тому
While waiting to pick up my new BMW, I was trying to learn as much as I could about this bike. One of the areas that seemed to have many different answers was heated gear and where to plug it in to, and what plugs and sockets actually come on the new R1250 GSA.
GoPro 12 & Sena SC2 Vlog Setup
Переглядів 4457 місяців тому
I spent a day riding around Duluth, Mn and decided to experiment with my GoPro which now has Bluetooth. I paired my Schuberth C5 Sena SC2 Comm to my Gopro Hero 12. So far it's a great VLOG setup and works well. I had my visor cracked open for air flow, I think it still sounds good even with that being open, let me know what you think in the comments. The only way I've found after messing around...

I sold my custom Harley Road Glide for this BMW R1250 GSA and I'm riding it to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.
Your bike setup looks amazing 😻

@@simplman3288 time will heal…..
Loved the ringtone!
Beautiful! The mods are SO awesome and you did such a great job explaining it all.
What a setup! Man your bike looks and sounds amazing! I love the Trophy colorway. My GSA is Triple Black, and I thought I was doing something by adding a set of D4s and a soundbomb. You’ve given me something to aspire to 😎
Impressive set up.
Just out of interest as your gsa got the led headlight
Yep, it sure does. And the SOS system
Your bike is only supposed to be 1068lb according to bmw
Yeah, but everybody overloads their bikes, I did get it way down. Took a bunch of stuff out.
@@BSMotoAdventures i am on holiday in southern vermany with my gsa rallye 1250 i had ti swap out my can for a grmoto to lose 3.5kg i have daughter on and bumot defender boxes and motorrad topbox 3 lomo dry bags 2 x 20litre and one 4o litre 15 litre tankbag and 2 x limo crashbar bags and i am around 20kilos over its a bit slower turning but as you know we get dialled in pretty quick
Ryan, this is great and thanks so much for sharing! I am leaving this Saturday from PA on a similar trip ("Adventures The Long Way"). Enjoy and I will be following... Stay well!
Does pairing the hero 12 interfere with the rider to rider comms
I never tried it while actually using coms. When I’m motoblogging I turn off the mesh, good question though
Did you setup the horn using the ezcan software?
Yes
Nice to see a video of where I live. You were at Eagle canyon. Quimet is close beside that one. You missed out silver islet and the end of the sleeping giant.
We were pressed for time. Trying to fit in as much as possible we’ll be back next year doing the circle tour
Good luck on your journey …May you and your friend have a good time and safe trip
LOL the pre pack weight is 110lbs over the standard bike FULL of fuel. You don’t need most any of that, all the gear and no idea hey.
I took a ton of if it out, I’m living off my bike for 6 weeks. It’s much lighter
And I thought I overpack lol, you can drop 100lbs off the weight by not bringing so much stuff you may only use once or twice. If you desperately need something just buy it. Thats a lot of extra weight to stop and maneuver. I pack half that for a two up trip and my bike comes in at around 1k with a passenger.
I’m working on cutting it down, the bike handles great, but I need to cut the weight.
What is making your bike so heavy
Packed to much stuff, and I’m a big dude lol. I’m cutting stuff down. My fuel cans weigh a lot, I also have a massive tool bag with tools I can’t even use on a BMW. so those are all going,
@@BSMotoAdventures your base bike seems heavy too... See what farkles you can do without... I run my R1250GSA almost stock. Just the cylinder guards from ricochet. Even the stock dinner plate. I try to keep light for the long tours.. less likely to break the bike or the legs. Pack way less. I pack enough tools that I can take the front and rear wheel off and fix the handle bars.. that's it. Duct tape and JB weld will fix the rest till I'm in civilization. I pack two change of of undergarments. I wear under armor under my klim suit. I pack one pair of lightweight hiking pants, a sweater and a down puffy jacket. I hammock camp. My kitchen and stove are 4lbs. Try to keep my total packed to 50lbs.. anything more than than and I feel unsafe in the woods. I pack minimal food or not at all. If your with multiple riders shared equipment will save you a ton. No reason for each rider to have a tool kit, first aid kit, etc. Less is more. Try to get to just packing the panniers and keep the weight off the back. I'll often take my hard top case, but I only use it for loose carry and convenience items. 5lbs of crap. I love the idea of the the bags on the engine guards and look, but they look heavy. 86 them. Seriously shoot for 700 lbs or less loaded. Your rear suspension, drive shaft, spokes, bearings etc will thank you. And when you take a tumble which is inevitable up in Alaska, you'll have a better chance of surviving. Fuel. If your on a GSA I don't think you'll need fuel on hand.. speeds are slower unless your on the highway and if you pack light you can plan upper 40s to 50mpg. You'll have over 300 if not 400 miles of range. My camp stove is an MSRP whisper light. I'll carry one 30oz can of gas for the stove. That's 10 miles of range if really needed. Plus your weight distribution is going to be tough. your rear tire is going to take a beating. If your going the dalton road it's hard gravel..
@@BSMotoAdventures btw.. I forgot to say.. have fun and I'm jealous!!!! Enjoy!!
@@skippynj1979I’m working on lighting it up, going to take a lot of stuff off of it. Great ideas thanks!
Great video bro! Cant wait to follow your trip.
Thanks, it’s getting close
How about your partner's bike?
Didn’t weigh it, but his is pretty light lol, I’m working on lightening mine up
Funny bear spray segment. Just some advice. I watch lots of motovloggers and they take have the camera gear as you. It looks like you will be using motels so why so many batteries? just charge up every night. Also you have empty space in the side bags and lot of weight on the top bag. Seems like it could be distributed better. Lastly, I have never seen anyone take so much stuff to clean their bike on a trip. Have fun
It’s a boujee beemer I’m probably going to get rid of that stuff except the bug slide lol, I’m working on cutting some stuff out. I’ll get the weight down some. Thanks for the comment. 😎
Right! That’s a lot of stuff!😅
that is the same putting my Tiger 800 fully loaded on your bike :D
That would be fun lol
I am reading that bear spray is supposed to shoot 40 feet. I couldn't tell but that mist didn't appear to go 12.
yep I thought too, didn't shoot even close to that lol, but that can is 4 years old so I wonder if it loses some of it's shooting power??
I'm betting close to 800 or 850 lbs before you're even on the bike. It starts out at 590 +
it was 703 with my empty bags, 1280 with all me gear and me, I'm going to see I can lighten it up a bit.
Thanks Ryan. I bought Schuberth S3 with SC2. Now i decided to buy Gopro 12 as well. But i was not sure If there is possible to connect GoPro with SC2 without any other device or wires. I communicated with tech support from Sena/Schuberth and they were NOT ABLE to confirm if it’s possible or not. I was really disappointed with their answers because it seems that none of them were sure. Very disappointing. But thank you for your video ❤ have a good one!
Glad I could help 😬
Nice video!! Die you pair it with phone, phone2, media or gps? Thxs in advance
I had it paired directly to my Sena SC2 nothing else was connected via Bluetooth at the time. I had to disconnect my phone from SC2 while doing blog
Ryan, nice job explaining your setup with the SC2. Yours is the first video I have come across that confirms compatibility. Keep up the good work! 👍🏼
Can you explain how you hooked up the Valentine One?
I have it hard wired into my Hex Ezcan. I use the ram mount power (magnet) plate to mount on bike. Then I have an app called V1 driver that pairs to the Valentine automatically whenever I the valentine is on. The alerts then go through my phone, and if you have a comm system in your helmet paired to your phone you will hear the alerts with voice prompts in your helmet. It works really good.
I thought you had heated grips? Then you don’t need heated gloves…
Heated grips have been great in the 35 degree range, anything colder than that I'm using my Gerbing.
Love your video. Please let me know wich leavers you have on the bike. I coundnt find it in the description. Ik own the same bike in Amsterdam. Thanks again and i will subscribe
They are Wild at Heart, made in South Africa. I love them.
@@BSMotoAdventures thank you so much. For some reason it feels like the factory ones are not as comphy with always riding with 2 fingers. Even after ajusting them. I will google the Wild At Heart ones today and order. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Hi, I see you have a coiled usb cable with a waterproof connector inline? Think it went into your tank bag? What’s the make of the cable? As that looks exactly what I need. Thanks
it's all Givi, the hub and the hardwire kit.
Hi, I think i saw on one of your videos a coiled usb cable with a waterproof connector inline? Think it went into your tank bag? What’s the make of the cable? As that looks exactly what I need. Thanks
It's all Givi, the hub and hard wire kit.
It’s in the top case next my Keurig! 😬
Hey Ryan! Awesome set up. Can you provide a link for all the electrical harnesses youre using? The harnesses under the passenger seat especially. The hex easy cans? I want to run some Denali lights like yours. Great videos. I’m digging the videos. Thanks!
I updated description
Thanks bougie! Dat sheets expensive! Can’t wait for your trip! Keep ‘em comin.
Toaster oven for pop tarts?
yep, in the top case with the Keurig
That’s seriously well equipped!
Thanks man!
Can you list links from the equipments you installed in your GS? I just purchased the same motorcycle. I like your videos
Look this guy up. A Bike Thing, Steve. He's on UA-cam also everything you need to add to the GSA
Absolutely !
Every man should venture like this at least once in their life. Walk your way if you must. You're setup is amazing. Congrats and Godspeed.
I agree, life is to short.
Wow I put a 12volt DC plug on my Goldwing and thought I was the man...I'll go stand in the corner now.
lol!! 😂 it’s all pretty easy
I'm trying really hard to not buy another harley. These ADV bikes look like so much more fun and comfort, but man so many people around here where I am are either full HD riders or sport bike riders and I'm too old for the crotch rockets anymore. I need to get over the stigma probably of thinking everyone will laugh at me for not being on a bagger.
This is my first ADV and I love it. I don’t care what others think, I still love Harley but this is a whole new world with all new roads and possibilities. Just do what you want!! Ride on
Don't be too late in life to realise. Nobody has time to think about your chosen vehicle. You're a dot on the road.
Your setup is fantastic man! cant wait to see more! loved the content brother!
Thanks!
Yay me. I watched it. Gratz on the sweet ride.
Awesome! Thank you!
Looks like you have a Harley as well? I have a Road Glide CVO and a BMW GSA as well…two very different bikes with different purposes but both excellent…have you looked at new tires yet? Debating bring my GSA to Sturgis this year to ride the BDRX…
I think I’m going with the Dunlop Trailmax missions. I was thinking motoz as well, haven’t decided yet. We’ll be riding the trails out there this year too.
I don’t think so, if it’s raining I take it down, no business going to fast on wet roads lol
Excellent video, thanks. Is the Valentine waterproof?
Nope, I’ll take it down in the rain.
