Video showing Derby Caribbean Carnival 2012, crossing the junction between Pear Tree and Normanton Road, Derby. A selection of amazing costumes and performances, the participants must be praised for the tremendous amount of work and dedication they have put into making the costumes, and for organising this fabulous event. It was an honour to have been there to see this take place.

Foxy - my regular nocturnal visitor. This fox comes around here most nights any time between 7:30 pm and up to 1:am. He is a great little hunter as I have seen him with mice and on occasion, he's bought a rat into my garden to eat it. Tonight I threw some dried cat food onto the grass. Filming is difficult as the slightest movement behind the curtains will see him off.

Markeaton Park Fireworks show November 7th 2010 attracted over 20,000 spectators. This video is just a brief look at the event. I hope it gives some idea of how much everyone enjoyed the evening.

Foxes are moving into our city centres. This one is a regular visitor to my city centre garden and is responsible for catching many of the rats and mice that also invade our gardens due to a proliferation of take-away food shops and the waste food they generate.

In March 2008 a grade 2 listed theatre building was partly demolished by a developer who bought the building and told us he was going to demolish it. The work was carried out without consent and as a result the owner id going on trial at Derby Crown Court in Feb 2010 charged with unlawfully carrying out the work. The building is restorative but the owner ghas had the damned cheek to turn Derby'...

The clock faces have been removed from Derby Cathedral as the clock and its two faces are being renovated. More later.

The Markeaton Ligh Railway operates within Markeaton Park, operating two locomotives. This is the Markeaton Lady Steam Locomotive. The railway operates most weekends during the spring, summer and autumn weekends and holiday periods. Silent video clip from my Fuji A500 digital camera

This bronze statue replaces an original, made of terrcotta by W J Coffee in 1806. The boar has been an integral part of the historic Derby Arboretum since the ground was first laid out as a private garden 1800 - 1830 The terracotta boar was destroyed during an air raid on Jan 15 1941

The Boar was reinstated at the Arboretum on November 21st 2005, This bronze replica was made by local engineer Alex Paxton of City Engineering. Alex's work was carried out at his own expense as a gift to his home city. The costs involved only covered the materials and foundry expenses.

This is a remake of my earlier visit to England's oldest public park.
