Bob, following retirement, i decided to relocate to The Gambia. One of the many observations is the lack of youth centers within the local communities/regions. The centers will provide young people with a sense of ownership/participants of these centers. The centers can serve in fostering commaradie, improve sports skipps/participation, get help with tutoring/homework assignments, counseling to help mold the minds and, engage them before they get to doing drugs and other promiscuous and illegal activities. These centers will also serve as gathering points for the youths during the celebration of Eids, Koriteh and Tobaski. Currently, the youths converge at the various petrol stations or parade the dangerous streets along the highway or Senegambian strip. Young children have no business on or near the strip and we have too many reckless drivers. Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts. FTN, keep up the good programming.
