Hello, I took an F spaced bridge pickup if I remember well, so slightly larger than the Fender. Gibson spacing is not compatible.

Based on my experience with these guitars, I would say that the quality control was, at that time, slightly better on the 611, or better said, the out of factory set up was better on the 611. Anyway, quality control may vary from one guitar to another. Once the 311 set up properly to my own taste, the difference in playability between both guitars was gone. Do not forget that this video is already 6 years old now, so I could not swear that the situation is the same today.

Hello, I do not know the Gretsch G2655-P90 JR DC. It looks like a Gibson ES, so there is no comparison possible with the Yamaha Pacifica, these models are too different IMO.

@@xophedebxI like satin finish fornthe neck too. And most people that I ask answere the same. It is more smooth and easy to move around the neck. Thanks for the quick reaponse. I am still thinking to buy relecaster classic vibe (now it is more eliminated), yamaha pac 611 or yamaha 311 (unfortunately no tremolo).

If you plan to change the PU's, buy the 311H indeed ;-)

@@xophedebx I am considering buying a used Ibanez ART 100 and installing a Dunlop Custom HB-5 (ceramic) into the bridge. I am currently playing an older 2001 Epiphone Les Paul with stock Alnico pickups. They sound ok...but still slightly muddy. I want a lighter more comfortable Les Paul style guitar with better tone. Am I heading the right direction? You are obviously a great player. How bad are the original ART 100 pickups? Also, what makes you want to play this style of guitar vs a Epiphone? I have Ibanez Artwood acoustics and love them.

Hello @malibu_guy The original ART pickups are not bad but are not enough defined when playing with lot of distortion for my own taste. I think that the current Epiphone with pro bucker pickups are closer to the original Gibson than the Ibanez. The ART100 was made in China, as the GIO series, so the quality is good but not fantastic (the bridge was sometimes rattling on my ART100). I think that Ibanez Super 58 pickups or DI Marzio PAF would sound great on it (for a 70ies sound). I have several Ibanez, and that's why I bought the ART vs an Epiphone, but Epiphone makes great guitars as well.

@@xophedebx I am considering buying a 2002 GIO GAX 70, made in Indonesia. With the stock pickups the tone is so shrill its almost unusable compared to my 2000 Epi Les Paul with Alnicos. I have a Duncan Custom pickup that I want to put in the bridge position of the GAX 70. With your experience with Ibanez and playing the GIO series line will this pickup change out make a huge difference in the GAX 70 tone and overall feel of the guitar? Thanks

Hello, I am certain you can get a very nice 120H with the right setting and a couple of branded pickups. The original PU were quite noisy when splitted , as far as I remember. I compared it to the Ibanez RG321MH at that time, and I went for the Ibanez.

Where'd you find that gem? I want the the 611 but I don't feel like breaking the bank.

Hello, SquareHome3 mimicks the old Windows 10 for Lumia phones. It's not Windows for arm devices. Even Microsoft decided to implement android on the new Surface Duo phone (www.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/devices/surface-duo?activetab=overview) , so there is almost no hope to see a new phone with Windows for arm devices in a near future. I know some people install Windows arm on Lumia 950, but with missing functionalities.

Hello Billy, the finish does impact the feel (the satin finish feels more "thin" than the glossy finish). Otherwise, when the guitars are set the same way, the playability is the same.

Hello, this can happen with most guitars in a shop, as anybody can try them and the neck is often "sticky" due to dirt. I clean my guitars everytime I use them, using a soft polish and afterwhile GHS Fast Fret on both strings and bottom of the neck.

Hello, the pots are the original ones, so there was no need to drill the holes. For the DPDT switch, I do not remember (it's already 5 years ago), should be circa 10mm .

Hello @AdrianMutu87 , I tried the 120H in a shop a couple of years ago, but I could not tell you how it compares with the 311H. At that time I compared it to the Ibanez RG321MH, and I decided to buy the Ibanez. So unfortunately It would be difficult for me to help you on that point.

I had the 311H VW. Upgraded it with the Seymour TB-14 bridge. Since bought a 612VII FM. Still own & play both. Both are great. I wanted the satin neck and opaque white in the 311H. I like the steel saddles too, although could swap them for Wilkinson alloy or brass if preferred inexpensively enough, GraphTech too, but they're silly money, and fortunately, I don't want. I do my own setups so both actions feel the same, satin vs gloss neck finishes notwithstanding. Love 'em both.

Hello, you can find a Chinese reissue here www.revelationguitars.co.uk/guitar/rh-revelation-h or try to find a Hohner Revelation Rtx on the second hand market. I put Fender Lace sensors pickups on mine, also bought in the 90's.
