Thank you for your comment. There is no need to PVA the surface before filling the hole/crack, just the preparation of the hole/crack making sure that all loose material is removed and a light sand of the surface to remove any loose paper burr’s before filling. I hope this helps.

We wouldn’t recommend cutting the patches to size as the mesh is proportional to the size of the metal plate inside for maximum strength and functionality of the patch. There is nothing to say you couldn't trim the mesh down although, however, we cannot guarantee that this wouldn't impact its strength and adhesion. If you are referring to cutting the metal plate in the middle to size, this would require cutting into the mesh, which would also cause issues. I hope this helps.

​@@okarnoltdIf cutting the patch straight across the middle for a small hole, strength and adhesion won't be an issue. The metal mesh will still cover the small hole and there will be enough adhesion either side for a firm stick.

Thank you for your query. Porous surfaces should be primed prior to decoration. Ensure that the background is clean, dry and free from flaking material, dust, oil or grease. Ensure any gloss surfaces are sanded to provide a ‘key’. Once sanded wipe the area with a clean damp sponge to remove any dust and then allow to dry.

Yes this type of paper tape has metal reinforcement strips.

Thank you for your comment. We recommend using the Gyproc EasiFiller Finish for skimming over larger areas. This is Easy to apply and needs minimal sanding. Apply to the damaged surface with firm upward sweeping strokes using a filling knife or trowel, in layers of 1-3mm thickness. I hope this helps.

It is not recommended to add pigment to Finishing Plaster as this could affect the performance of the product, however, it is possible to paint over the Finishing Plaster once it is dry (always follow the paint manufacturers’ recommendations for the best results). Thank you for your comment. When using the EasiFix Wall Repair Kit we recommend allowing 70 - 90 minutes for the drying time (depending on conditions). We would also not recommend putting screws into the repaired sections. I hope this helps.

Quicksand can be used for all stages of the jointing process and so it doesn’t require any other jointing compound first - although it can also be used as a finishing coat over Gyproc Joint Filler or Gyproc EasiFill. If using Gyproc QuickSand for all stages, simply apply to the joint to embed the tape and immediately overcoat to fully fill the tapered board edges. When dry, apply a second coat to feather out onto the board surface. Leave to dry again before applying a final coat, feathering out beyond the second. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your comment. This product can be used on ceilings. It is ideal for patching up small holes from things like moving spotlights, or areas of general damage on a plasterboard ceiling. When using this kit on damaged areas, always ensure the metal plate in the centre of the plasterboard patch goes beyond the edges of the damage. If the area of damage is bigger than 100mmx100mm, this kit won’t be suitable. A larger patch may be needed or, depending on the extent of the damage, the plasterboard may need replacing.
