I'm repairing and old Apple IIe keyboard with long stem ALPS switches. Following your instructions I was able to repair and disassemble every switch with 100% success. I was pretty confident in the task until I met my match the Caps Lock Switch. One I opened it it was completely different and now... I can´t assemble it back on!! I've been trying different ways but there are some pieces (a little copper wire) that got me totally confused. Any idea of where can I find an image or video on how to assemble THAT specific key? Thanks a million in advance for your time and patience. Greetings, from Argentina!
mine is still in the attic but have started clearing a spot to work on it. Once working getting some sort of hard drive is project one. Using this machine without one was such a disk shuffle game. Thanks for posting, you got a fan.
Hello, do you have the image of this disc?
You can download it here. facebook.com/groups/nanja.info/permalink/1461537924620725
Interesting, that’s a rom 3 board but the software boot says rom 1.
Although not widely known, ROM 1 can be used with ROM 3 motherboard.
OMG that Laserdisc....
I'm sure you know, but the ROM test failing is normal, as it just compares to a ROM contents to a known checksum . But the TK-2000 ROM will have differences from the MPF-II (mainly localization i presume) and so the checksum won't match.
Wow, this is an excellent video. Really smart using a zap strap to hold together in case you have to fix it again in the future. It doesn't cause an issue with fitment? If you ever get a chance to film this again with something other than a potato it would be good to see how the little springs go in. I like Adrians videos but hes not that handy with these sort of things.
how did you load a cassette tape? hardware wise
Instead of a cassette tape recorder, I used the recording app on my iPad.
@@nanja-info ¿simply using an aux?
@@trixxxi I made my own conversion cable between the MFP-II microphone and speaker jacks and the iPad headphone jack. It is just a direct connection between each terminal.
The same thing happens to me, did you find a solution?
One of the solution. forum.vcfed.org/index.php?threads/dead-laser-128-no-floppy-drives-work.1239277/post-1266021
@@nanja-info Thank you very much, it was exactly what happens with my Laser128, I have bypassed the sensor and it works.
Hi there! I have a clone card, which is identical to the ALF one. I believe it works. However it needs to be tested. Couldyou please suggest me where I can find the software you are using (lloked for it at Asimov's but no luck so far). Also, do I need o PC DOS based disk to run it? I have never used it before and am not sure. your help is much appreciated. Thanks

the speed difference is insane, it's fascinating that people are still improving on those machines keeping them "the same"
Would you happen to know where I can get a copy of CPM/86 that runs off the AD8088? Clone Software made it, and so far no one has shared it.
My ported version can be found on the following Facebook page. To run this CP/M-86, you will need an extra memory card and a hard disk or disk emulator. facebook.com/groups/nanja.info/permalink/1210671053040748
How can I obtain a copy of the SBTB.CMD and SBTB.TXT files that are on the FLEX disk displayed in the video?
I uploaded the SBTB source code to github. github.com/ushicow/flex
Would you please share more info on the hardware?

I have a McMill MC68008 board and have never been able to locate any software or documentation for it. Your work looks interesting! Any change of putting up an English translation with download links?

The speed is too fast compared to the original.
Awesome. Lots of great new modem upgrades for a computer from 1986.
How did you get the fastchip iie to work on the laser 128ex? Was it the ex/2 rom?
Hello, very nice piece of hardware, did you clone the pcb by yourself? Is it available somewhere? Thank You
Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, the card was sold out. Now, I'm designing a new 68008 card. Please watch the following Facebook page. facebook.com/groups/nanja.info
Great job Atsushi! I've an Apple II keyboard with the same switches and several of them are not workning and are difficult to operate as they get stuck at the low position. So, I would like to try your method. Is it difficult to pry open the switches? Are the shell halves glued together? I'm worried about breaking the switches by applying too much force.
how that works you replaced the rom and that enable turbo mode ?
what are that stellation two ?
Amazing! I'd like to flash my 128 to the turbo ROM, how to ?
You should know that an engineer involved in the production of these keys told me confidently that what you are doing in this video is not possible. Good work!
Where does the little L shaped piece of copper go? You had the switch rotated away from the camera when you placed it.
Please refer to this figure. deskthority.net/wiki/Datanetics_DC-50_series

Good to see the old music still alive :-)
I have recently picked up an Apple II and several of the keys were not working. I have been using 99.9% alcohol to clean up the keyboard and the non working keys. All of the keys have been working, but now I am having a problem with the "L" key. It was working, so I know the keyboard is good. Some of the keys are now a little sticky, when you first press down on them as well. Am I using too much alcohol? Can I use a dielectric grease to loosen up the keys that are a little sticky? Thank you
I think it's good to wash using isopropyl alcohol. But when copper contact was covered by surface oxide up, it's difficult to remove by alcohol washing. So when my video is helpful as the last resort, I'm happy. www.willegal.net/appleii/appleii-keyboard.htm
I am not ready to remove the key and take it apart. My eyes are not as good as the once were. I was wondering, if I should use the dielectric grease on the keys that start off sticky? Can using too much Alcohol cause any problems?
I think too much alcohol no problem, If completely evaporated.
