On The UK Soap Opera Coronation Street Anna Windass thought her Son died in The Ukraine (Pre War) who was a former Soldier. He surprises his Girlfriend Sarah, her Daughter Bethany and Sarah's Son Harry and they were beyond stunned. Anna was in Prison for GBH and she kept screaming I Want To See My Son!

This is how a soap is done. You don't announce the actor has left to do side movie. That way when the story unfolds is real as it gets. The soaps now can't write good believable stories like these.

Also on Guiding Light there was The Santos Family. In The UK there is Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley on Emmerdale. He plays Cain Dingle A Mechanic and she plays Rhona Dingle (Married to Cain's Cousin Marlon) but they never do scenes together. Folks sometimes forget they are married.

This was so 180% from the funeral of vanessa chamberlain lewis reardon on guiding light. They had extras and there was a family in which the daughter was crying. If this was a African American Funeral someone would have sang "Precious Lord Take My Hand". I told UK Soap fans that alot of folks who sang at funerals also did broadway.

Another surprising back from the Dead was Gary Windass on Coronation Street. His Mother Anna who was in prison for grevious bodily harm (gbh) kept screaming i want to see my son over and over, and she ended up in a psych ward. His girlfriend Sarah and her daughter bethany and her baby boy Harry were to put it mildly shocked.

She is now all grown up and looks so much like her TV Parents.

This memory scene was just as good as Rachel's on Another World and Holden's on As The World Turns. She reminds me so much of Emma Barton who has been playing Susan "Honey" Mitchell a Councilwoman on eastenders on and off starting in 2005. I said this on another channel, she would have been fantastic on Guiding Light as Gina Torres, Carmen Santos Sister who is also a Doctor.

Once she remembers the writing for her character went to shit though it's probably due to her and him going through a real life divorce during that time

😞 watched all my children with my mom when I was a kid such fond memories. Lost my mom in 2020 as well. Been the worst kind of pain imaginable but we all go through it sadly. Watching this brings back good memories from our relationship. R.I.P John I loved Edmund and Maria forever

I wanted Maria and Aiden to stay together! Edmund was a good guy but at end of his time AMC he was twisted.

Why didn't they have a wedding like Dimitri?

I love The "Extras" on Soap Weddings. They make the scenes so much more believable.

Edmund would always be in pain with Maria. Her true character...one of a cheating wife...came out during the short period they were married. Edmund didn't love her anyway...he didn't even know her. He loved Brooke much more.

Edmund wants to 'try' with Maria, despite the fact they barely knew each other. So silly. Also, he just cried his eyes out over Brooke rebuffing him, and he proposes to Maria. Red Flags, for sure. Maria/Edmund were not in love. They did fit well, yes. At least on paper. But their marriage sucked.

All Maria ever did was hurt Edmund. She cheated on him with his own brother and thought her baby was Dimitri's. Then she was hung up on Del, then she fell in love with Zach Slater. I really don't know why people like this couple. Maria never deserved Edmund.

This was one of the very first episodes I watched. Can't believe how long ago it was, I was still a teenager! I didn't know at the time that this was the wrap up of a years long cliffhanger storyline, but it was part of what hooked me to the show.

I wondered if Dondre Whitfield was related to Norman Whitfield who wrote "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" that was first done by Gladys Knight & The Pips, an AMC Fan then Marvin Gaye (RIP). He's probably best known for his work with The temptations during their Psychedelic Era.

John was my first and only idol crush from a soap. He was on Santa Barbara. I wrote him and sent him packages. He wrote back. We wrote each other til he left Santa Barbara and moved to New York. He wrote me that he was going to be on AMC. I started watching the show and was hooked right off. After awhile we lost touch. I still have all his letters, cards and photos. RIP John

I hated how they destroy this couple I hated what they did to edmund that whole pretending he can't walk plotting against Zach & maria I also wish they didn't have Zach be one of maria lover she had when she had Amisha which that part is David fault

I loved Maria on the Show. I would have loved for Eva LaRue Callahan to have done Guiding Light as Carmen Santos Sister Gina who got through Med School through Big Sister's Generosity. She would create quite a sensation in Springfield. In the UK there's an Actress who has this sweet same quality about her. Emma Barton who plays Susan "Honey" Mitchell on Eastenders. The UK Actors can do some amazing Accents.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I'm confused by it being called a "deleted scene", because I saw it when the show first started. I've been watching it on The Roku Channel during the past week, and yes, they did delete it. I was anxious to see it, again and thought I'd somehow skipped it, but restarted the episode and still didn't see it. At least I was able to catch it years ago when I was recording to DVDs. :)
