Hi! I live in Illinois and post videos of trains in the Chicago area. I live on the Mendota sub but frequently travel into the suburbs to catch metra action! Hope you enjoy.

@Bus285Productions-l1x yeah I hit the wrong button my bad on that.
Great night video!
@@EmpireStateExpress01 thank you I appreciate it!
W jakiej miejscowości rusza pociąg na tym nagraniu?
Aurora, Illinois about 41 miles west of Chicago.
The HC corridor would be much better if not for the abysmal service.
@@MBT06 yeah for sure, hope it has more trains per day in the future
Thanks for posting!
@@MBT06 of course I’m glad I could film it all!
So are the venture cars just business class?
@@SeptaShorts no I don’t think so there is also coach I’m pretty sure. Becuase I rode coach in March on the Lincoln service in a venture car
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions ok thanks
To not list the station stops along the route of the train is totally worthless. Redo this video as soon as possible with station stops listed along the route. 🙄 😫
@@williamrupert1512 im sorry man I don’t know if I’ll redo it but I have the station names on my latest cab ride vid and will continue to do from now on
It's wonderful we got to see a F"ng Train. What's the big deal? 😂😂😂😂
Hi
@@dakotadallman7269 hello
I was there no one was there to greet me
Like on the train or at the location of the filming?
On the train
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions an location no one ever told me
Sorry about the audio cut outs here and there idk what happened to my camera
Sorry but you're not in the cab.
@@scorpiolou2004 yup. I wish tho!
Why is it at night time?
@@jessicanelson3355 uhh because that’s what time I took the train to Chicago. I did this because I had an Amtrak train at 7:15.
Love the hobby of Model Trains, especially N-Scale! 😊
Yeah I love mine. I run them almost everyday it’s so fun.
Odd O
Odd
I miss living in somonauk, hearing and seeing trains everyday going to school
Yeah it’s a good time.
Other apps show the stops on the screen so we know what is going on.Just my 2 cents worth
You should show the stops as not everyone is familiar with Illinois.
Ok I will do next time. You can find the list of stops on metras website tho.
Nice 👍
70 mph
79mph* that’s the speed limit for almost the rest of the way to Galesburg.
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions is that the fastest CZ trains go is 79?
@@Nvideofilms ya know I’m not sure tbh. But I do know that there is a stretch where the southwest chief goes 90mph.
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions fort Madison IO to Lamar CO?
@@Nvideofilms uhh I rlly don’t know sadly. I’m sure u could find that info somewhere else I’m just not that educated on rail outside of Illinois when it comes to track speeds.
Awesome video. I love the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Me, my mom, my dad, my sister and best friend would take the train from my hometown of Winnetka to the city on weekends to go to Millennium Park and Navy Pier.
Yeah I grew up taking the UP-W Line from elburn to Chicago. OTC is wonderful. It’s rlly cool being able to see trains from the end of the platform like this.
Morning Ride
Indeed
When will Chicago electrify its rail network 🤔
Idk, prolly not anytime soon. However there is these flirt trains that are like French or something that are going on the heritage corridor or sum like that. Idk tho I’m not very educated on that. But I’ve heard abt it.
Widespread electrification is very unlikely. I live near the Northeast corridor, which is electrified. It goes through towns where some of the wealthiest people in the U.S. reside. They hate the noise and traffic that commuter lines running near their neighborhoods generate. They have the wealth, legal, and political means to oppose any changes to the New York City - Boston route they dislike. Most of all, they consider the overhead wires and infrastructure as a form of visual pollution that detracts from real estate values.
@@Ad_Valorem thanks... we better not infringe on the Chicago Outfit.
@@Ad_Valorem mm yea, I love that. The railroad was there first, if the noise and visual appearance bothers you, maybe don't buy a house next to it? There is a reason that real estate near the railroad is generally cheaper, if you can't figure that out, idk what to tell you lol. The mental gymnastics that some wealthy individuals do never ceases to amaze me lmao.
Be sure to visit Al Capone, aka the Chicago Outfit driver.
I love this video what is that circle light going around for
A lot of questions on this! It’s a mars light. Most Metra trains have them like the cab cars and F40s. However they aren’t rlly on any other trains today. So it’s cool to go on one that does still have a mars light.
It for low visibility I believe most metras have them
Did anybody else see what I saw at and around 4 minutes and 53 seconds it looks like someone is crossing the track but it like jumps the little stream on the side
Umm woah. I didn’t realize that. Wow. That’s not good definitely trespassing. Wonder if the engineer saw? Prolly not cause he didn’t blow the horn or anything. Ig maybe he contacted bnsf.
It's glare from the reflective milepost. It moves as the train gets closer to it.
Gotta love it! ❤❤
Anytime we have EMD on the line I indeed do love it!
Beautiful sunset
It rlly was a great sunset!
Adorei a viagem, isso foi muito prazeroso!
What's up with that spinning headlight? It's very distracting....
It’s a Mars light. Not rlly sure why they have em. But most of all trains now a days don’t have the mars lights. But metra happens to have them.
why aren't the stations identified?
What do you mean? There are signs up on the buildings of the station.
Maravilha ❤❤ Saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷🙌
bro the Bell is So Cool
Yeah for real. I’ve always loved the metra bell sound from inside the car.
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions FR! I actually have videos of me manually ringing steel bells if you want you can check them out!
Great video thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Yes for sure. Glad you enjoyed!
@Amtrak-4621-video-productions your welcome have a great weekend 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@JackRisvold you as well!
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions thanks you ✌️
What's with the light moving in a circle?
It’s a mars light. Used on older trains metra is one to still have them on most leading locomotives and cab cars. Pretty cool to see at night.
Interesting.
It's designed to get the attention of someone on the tracks who might not notice a static headlight slowly getting brighter as it gets closer.
Pyle Gyralite made by the Pyle National warming light co.
It is a safety device. At night, the sweeping light reflecting off of the trees and buildings along the right-of-way will get a driver's attention even if the crossing lights and bells do not. And out West, there are still many crossings at grade that do not have any protection except a crossing sign without lights.
You know, this type if transportation takes alot of 18-wheeler trucks off the road, thus saving fuel for America and moving freight quickly and efficiently.
You know, me being from NYC, I can't believe I just sat here and rode a different commuter train from end to end!
Are these their brand new cars because they look different
Yes, these are their newer venture cars. Made by Siemens mobility.
Those New Amtrak cars I don't like because the seats are uncomfortable. I liked the other Amtrak cars better because of the comfortable seats. I like the Hiawatha Service to Milwaukee.
Yeah I agree. I rode in the new venture coaches in late march. Not very comfortable.
Amazing video. I love Amtrak with a passion.
Thanks man! I definitely enjoy Amtrak as well. I try to see the IL zephyr everyday since it’s always at the same time.
I love the UP-W. I would have to take the UP-N from Winnetka to Downtown Chicago and transfer there when I was with my dad. I love going to Elmhurst, Wheaton, Oak Park, River Forest, Geneva and Winfield.
Yeah I grew up riding it since that’s the closet metra station from my house. It’s always been my favorite!
Second locomotive is a Sd70mac not H
Yeah I’ve realized that the more I’ve gotten into railfanning and seeing trains. Thanks for the correction tho!
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions np
Great to watch a Metra cab ride video without the bell constantly ringing :)
Wdym I love the bell
hello. thanks for the video.
Hey, your welcome. Took this trip into Chicago almost 2 weeks ago. This was because I was taking the Lincoln service to STL later that morning. It was pretty cool seeing the searchlight work at night like that. Glad you enjoyed.
@@Amtrak-4621-video-productions it certainly was cool. took me until the third or fourth set of signals to realize that they weren't blinking yellow, it was the reflection of the train lights on them haha.
Haha, yeah there weren’t any other trains this whole journey surprisingly. Even for a 5am train.
Why is there an ALC leading a Midwest train?
Honestly, I really couldn’t tell ya. I just heard abt it and drove on over to the tracks. Possibly testing. But the night before that 2nd loco the P42 lead the train. It’s really weird that there haven’t been SC-44s on that train recently.
My thoughts exactly
The P42 probably broke down.
@@packr72 or no available SC 44s

Фу. Фу
What do you mean Massachusetts ? They’re gonna start testing them there soon?
Yes, the ALC-42’s will have there testing done in Massachusetts.
First all equipment goes to wilmington, Im not sure where youve heard of them going to Southampton..
/Great video. Like me/
