i got lies of p ending first run
Yes please. This was always my favorite to play. The first will always have my heart but the way this one ends the story and and blends in the first is perfection
Yeah the first one was great but I think this one is my favorite so far, but I still need to play MGS5. I agree with you, this game was pretty much perfect!
There it is My only platinum trophy
And it might be the best Platinum trophy out there.
Are you Aussie?
I am not, I am from the states.
@ ohhh ok sorry it was just you responded when I was up instead of like 2 I’m the morning for me😆😆
Ha ha no worries. Are you Aussie?

Me too! I am very new to it, but I am already addicted to play it Lol 🤣

@@myersv2 keep up the amazing work
Atta boy!!! About time! The best video game series EVER! Doesn't help that I'm biased..
I agree BEST video game series EVER! Also love the name, old solid snake is my favorite!
I love souls-like and souls games in general, but there are very few I'm so willing to jump back into like Nioh 2 (and specially for it to not be just a nostalgia session). Souls games tend to be very unforgettable first time experiences, with that feeling of awe over it; BUT, following playthroughs always felt a little sad to me, like the themes of decay and lost glory kinda are taking form in front of your eyes, each new game + more a shadow of your former experience. Then we have Nioh 2 which starts a bit unimpressive, much more practical and down to earth on its themes and presentation. You finish the first time and you realize "oh, I've just STARTED to understand what's this game is about". So you go into NG+ and the story is actually more interesting, you start to pick favorite characters and others to dislike and the systems just keep flourishing on each ng+ cycle. More rarity, more passives, different enemy configurations, bosses get new moves, different combo strings It's just... it's just great, man
I could not have said it better myself. Nioh 2 gets better as you get deeper into it. And you are right, most souls-likes you play once and you are done with it.
Platinum takes waaay to long
Yeah it’s way too long, I can’t believe that i actually did it Lol 🤣
I think one of the biggest things going against this game was just the PS3 itself. Playing on og hardware was a slowwwwwww process. The cutscenes where the salt on the wound. But the game was really good.
I actually did not mind the cutscenes, it was like I was playing a movie. And I loved the game play on it. I played it on the PS3.
@@myersv2 I think both Kojima and Miyamoto (Nintendo) follow similar ethos, as far as game design. They try to use subtle things to communicate what they want to the player. For the boss battles Kojima wants you to figure this stuff out with the clues given to you in the game, but also at a point and know if you're struggling and it will just straight up tell you. But also both will have you utilize everything that the game gives you in the latter part of the game. They give you a sense of progression and accomplishment, that feel earned. Where it seems like newer games nowadays just tend to have an idea that they just keep repeating over and over. But there's not really much depth to the gameplay. Like the only thing that you get for completion of things is a reward but it's kind of arbitrary. Like if this was call of duty or something you wouldn't unlock a gun but more like a skin for the gun. You have to pay real money to actually get the gun that you really want to use in the game. Take my favorite fighting game Tekken. In Tekken Tag there was around 30 characters to pick from. Believe the game started you with 12. As you played the game you unlocked more characters. Now when they release a game they'll start with 9 characters. If you want more characters added into the game you have to pay real money. 20 dollars per character. It's a joke
@@myersv2 but I guess my biggest issue with 4 was just as pacing. Not the story or the gameplay. I just think, as a movie buff myself, about Kojima could do a better job at communicating is thoughts with the power of edits in the cutscenes.
I agree with you 100%! I love that MGS games make every time you get useful. I feel like in newer games you collect so much stuff and then most of the time it has no use. This is why it’s been so refreshing playing through the MGS games. I think that I am going to continue to player older games Lol 🤣
I can see where you are coming from, the pacing could of been better and yes Kojima could do a better job communicating his thoughts.
What is the game in the opening?
It was Enotria The Last Song, a souls like. In that clip I was trying out the demo.
I was stuck in that charging.boss for a long time
I was too, that boss was one of the toughest bosses for me. I had to just basically memorize all of his moves and when to anticipate them.
Working my way on getting all achievements right now heheh
LETS GO!!!! Good luck! Are you going after the DLC achievements as well?
If you really enjoyed MGS4 and wanted to try out MGO2(metal gear online for mgs4), you should look into SaveMGO.
I never played it due to Sony exclusivity. The only one I haven't played
Hopefully it comes out as part of the Master Collection Volume 2. It is such a good game, they are all such good games. I am a MGS fan for life now.
I used to rent this game for weeks when it first came out, 10 years later I bought the HD collection for Xbox 360 when I saw it at a store. I finally collected every dog tag in the game and beat it on extreme, which was hard as hell with 360 controls. I eventually bought a used ps3 and the legacy collection just to play this game with pressure sensitivity again, and I may go as far as buying a usb dualshock 2 adapter to go for european extreme.
That is awesome! MGS2 is so good! It is probably my favorite, I want to go back and replay to get the Platinum trophy. I love the addition of Raiden and the final boss fight of the game is so epic!
I thought it was awesome and a great experience. Had the task of ending the story, and I thought it did a good job. Some things involving the patriots I didn’t like being a fan of mgs 2, but I don’t want to spoil if you’re not there yet. I went full psycho when I usually go for stealth lol
I have been doing non lethal for this first Playthrough. MGS2 is also my favorite, but I really like 4, it is a close one between 2 and 4 for me. I have actually finished 4, I’m working on the video for Part 2 already. I broke it up so the videos would not be super long. I cannot wait to play 5 also, the combat looks so fun!
congrats you played a movie
Best movie I have ever played Lol 🤣
did you play it on console or did you port them to pc
I played it on console/PS3.
compared to ghost recon or socom or even splinter cell, metal gear solid is like an astro boy game. its the "arcade" JRPG version of "tactical espionage" wannabe, but with prettier and more over dramatized cutscene than the realistic ones. the realism ends there at the cutscene. everytime you jumps back into gameplay, it goes back into astro boy mode. you can fulton recovery people from inside a bunker and well enclosed buildings. kojima's logic. who even need star trek's teleportation. fulton recovery goes through the roof. if enemy sense you at 10 meters away, all you need to do is crouch and they will forget seeing you. or if the game decided that you have been sprung, even if you go 1960 style of 21st century non existent transparent camouflage tech, enemy can see you through walls. its the kind of "immersion" every fanboy wants. when "physics" is such a "paper rock and scissors".
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. I am always looking to play new games. So which tactical espionage games do you recommend? Ghost Recon, Socom or Splinter Cell?
Cringe hater
Ha ha I am a big fan on MGS, I don’t know why I have waited this long to play through them. It has become one of my favorite game series.
This video made me big boss hard⁉
Awesome Myers. Glad you’re enjoying it! Looking forward to more.
Thank Bacon! I’m looking forward to playing the other MGS games, they are so good!

Yes please, part two. Great video.
Thanks! Part two is coming soon! I can’t wait to play 5!
@@myersv2you should play Peace Walker first, as it sets the event for MGS5
Ok, I will play Peace Walker first.👍 I have it on the PS3.
This review was so well done! And your account of the Laughing Octopus battle was spot on. It’s a relief to hear there are gamers out there nowadays that still have good taste. 😤👍 Did this title justice, Myers. Salute! O7
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I am glad that you enjoyed it. 👊 I cannot wait to play the rest of the games in the series! 🫡
Your thoroughness to details Kojima and the staff brought to the life of the game makes me want to play MGS4 again! So many little things adding up to become a classic
Thanks man! MGS4 might end up being my favorite in the series.
In the words of Liquid Ocelot in MGS2: “I’ve been waiting for this!”
I could not have said it better myself!

Trophy hunt for 100+ hour games is next level.
It is for sure going to test me, especially the VR missions Lol 😂
@@myersv2 Gotta get that Yuffie/Aerith combo going where ya can lol
@ I have not tried that combo. I usually use Cloud, Tifa and Aerith. But I will try it out.
@@myersv2 Aerith's ATB Ward -> Yuffie spamming Brummel Form inside. Invincible and fills the entire parties ATB.
Sweet, thanks for the tip, I’m going to try it out. 👊
Nioh 2 and fortnite are my favorite video games
Both great games. I still need to play Nioh 1.
review's off, you didn't mention the waifus
Ha ha I will redo do the review and add that in
After winning the Souls saga, Sekiro, Elden Ring, I dropped Nioh 1 and 2, why? It just can't break my back at all, only at the end of the game you can get the good stuff, I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm just saying it's not for me.
That is fair and true, you get the really good equipment after you have beat the game and played NG++. I do like Sekiro more than Nioh.
you only had to get 51 trophies?! I HAVE TO GET 96!
96? Does that include the DLC trophies?
I think so
I need to do the DLCs.
lol I like how u renamed The Pain into The Hive when you introduced him at 4:09
Ha ha I am glad that you caught that, I tried to hide it in there to see how manny people notice 😂
Aren't the drops completely random? So it could potentially roll with bis stats?
Correct, they are random. But I did not feel like I had to grind too much to get drops that I wanted.
Also another thing I feel people don’t mention as often with nioh 2 is I felt the games boss quality was the best of all souls like in my opinion. Majority of bosses were above average to the best ever with like 2 being not that good
I agree. How are the bosses in Nioh 1?
@ they were decent for the most part but I did nioh 1 after 2 so a lot of it was fairly easy I will say I’m currently doing the dlc of nioh 1 rn since one of the bosses were so hard I put it down for like a year 😂
Ha ha I have still yet to play all the way through Nioh 1. I started it but the combat is just not as good as 2. I’m addicted to 2s combat.
How we just need nioh 3😔
I know! I don’t know what to play while I wait for Nioh 3! Lol 🤣
Nioh 2 fixed my broken leg and gave me a million dollars.
Nice 👍
