Absolutely stunning Manuela, hellebores are one of my favourite flowers too, they grow quite widely here in Ireland and they are a beautiful sight in the depths of winter. We have purple, white and sometimes green ones too. You have quilled them perfectly and the touch of green pastel finishes them perfectly. Your finished piece is absolutely beautiful. I hope to find time to quill some snowflakes this Christmas, I haven’t made any in a few years but I really want to try this year. Giving a handmade gift in this age of mass production is very special and it is always received with such pleasure. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video so thank you as always for sharing ❤😘.

Oh my goodness Manuela, this piece is just gorgeous. I can’t believe how beautifully those trees turned out, so clever how you used crimping and tapering to get the perfect rendering of pine trees. I love the stylised feel of this piece, simple bold elements but beautifully quilled and really well put together in a composition that has balance, depth and dimension. Looks gorgeous so far Manu. Really interested to see a different side to your work. Working with 1cm strips is lovely because of the shadows they cast, adds to the drama of the piece! Great tip to use curved nail scissors for intricate cutting, I have a pair of those and never thought to use them in cutting paper 🤦🏻‍♀️. Really looking forward to seeing the next instalment! Wonderful Manu, I can’t believe you are considering this to be a “first attempt” as it looks pretty perfect to me! Did you add glue to the petal surfaces before shaping them as I can’t see how you can shape them without them unraveling otherwise? Goodness Manu, these are extraordinary. Forget-me-nots are one of my favourite flowers as they grow wild in my garden and are so beautiful. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen pink ones though so that’s a new one for me! To even cut such tiny narrow strips takes some amount of skill never mind then quilling with them. Isn’t it interesting that the smaller the flowers and the strips you use, the longer it takes and the more skill and patience you need! You render them perfectly and it would be hard to tell them apart from the real thing. I never cease to wonder at your mastery of the craft. Thank you for sharing ❤😘.

Oh my goodness Manuela I was absolutely mesmerised watching this gorgeous bird emerge from your fingers! I love on edge quilling as it facilitates a much more graphic and conceptual rendering of an image and really allows you to paint with the paper. However because of this it can also be very difficult to achieve perfect shape and balance. You did so perfectly. You allow the shape of the paper suggest the feathers and the eye of the bird bringing him to life! The addition of the equally graphic and modern leaves finishes the piece perfectly, so unusual and clever. Please do more of these pieces 🥰. ❤😘
