Hello there! Unfortunately, the game is not for sale anywhere anymore. There are ways to get it online, if you're confortable with that. Google "Third Age Online" and check out the first result. Don't forget you need Battle for Middle Earth II installed first before installing Rise of the Witch King.

Totally feel you! It's awesome when a game can hit you right in the feels and make you want to explore more of that fantastic world! And it's a pretty good foray into the lore by itself. Those of us who didn't even know about LOTR before the Peter Jackson movies certainly felt more educated after a playthrough of the BFME series.

Yeah, not my favorite mission. Scanning is too finicky, with how close you need to be and how easy it is to lose focus and having to restart the scan. I've only just made the connection. Wings of Dawn was a cool mod 🙂

It's a great moment. A monster like that emerging out of the fog. You don't need control taken away, or a cutscene of any kind to focus on what is about to happen. Unfortunately, not many moments like that these days.

Yeah, I think I've used that 'ability' once or twice, but I'm not sure how to turn it on without being completely still first, which wastes precious time and increases the risk of getting shot. Probably would be a good idea to check if there is a key I can press to engage bullet time while moving but without making Max jump.

I can imagine. I think I played a single mission with patch 2.22 applied, and promptly regretted it. Went straight back to 1.09😂

That's a good memory, hold on to it. It sucks that your disk stopped working, though. We used to hear that those things could last forever. Unfortunately, unless you can find a physical copy somewhere, there's no way to buy the game on steam or any other digital store. Some licencing issue, so it's unlikely it will ever be for sale again. For this reason, it is considered "abandonware" by many, so most people who play the game today probably got it online. Google "Third Age Online" for more information, if you're interested.

there is the best mod of this game but you need both bfme 2 and bfme 2 rise of the witch king. if you search on youtube you can find tutorials how to install, pretty easy, then you download age of the ring mod and enjoy playing. check out their channel here as well. those mode is amazing.

Believe me, It hurts me too, I'm team "Free Peoples of Middle-Earth" too, but I wanted to try out this mod and I had already finished the Good campaign. I just had to be evil, a bit.

Oh, I remember fumbling around with the numpad as a kid (yeah), before I discovered you could pilot the ship with the mouse. I never got a joystick, unfortunately, so I'm still using the mouse. Have no idea how it feels to use a joystick, but I'm sure it takes some getting used to. If you're having fun with the game, remember it keeps going, as you have a ton of mods to try out. And thanks for taking an interest! I'm actually publishing my final video (for now, at least) of my playthrough soon, covering the final two missions of Freespace 2. Check out Freespace 1 as well, if you haven't already. I so happen to have a playlist about it :)

He was. This is the new and improved version. Being serious for a bit, you can actually save him from his canonical death in the game, if you get to him quick enough back in Amon Hen.
