The best knife you've never heard of, and im not blowing smoke.
This is the aliexpress lemifshe rattlesnake design forest elf knife in m390. It has a surprise hiding inside of it. If ur looking for it, search lemifshe rattlesnake design knife on aliexpress, and u should see it. I had the mcnees pm mac 2 3 inch clone by lemifshe tested as far as hrc is concerned it was 154cm at a 60.5 tested by apexalchemy here on UA-cam if u want to check out the video.

It's definitely a cool knife I'd like to get one but I've never bought anything off allie express and I'm kind of Weary about it there's also a g10 and vg10 version of this knife I think great video man 👍
I've had mine for a couple weeks and I'm extremely impressed. I basically have the same opinion as you. The opening and closing action is so smooth. My main complaint is also the overall weight. A thinner, slicer blade would be better. Hopefully, it's real m390. Oh yeah, Lemifshe released two new musical knives that don't use tuning forks. However, I think the design on this F03plus is better but the sound on the new ones may be better.
@@SensationsRim as another commenter said I don’t think rattlesnake would be willing to put his name on it if it wasn’t m390. I’d have to agree with that logic but I haven’t sharpened mine yet and so when I do I’ll get a better feel for the steel and try to report back. Thanks for watching.
Compadre is a good size than the OG right?
@@Doughnutt_edc I’ve never held the padre but the compadre for me is a very good size. I can’t get a full 4 finger grip on it without using the choke up. It’s very comfortable given it’s not contoured. I have a full review of it up if u r interested.
Stop buying and supporting thieves. You didn’t get a good deal on a McNees. You just bought a Chinese knockoff. Supporting the knockoff market is wrong. I have nothing against knives made in China, but supporting this crap is wrong.
Thanks for helping the algorithm, so this content reaches as many people as possible. Ur support is appreciated.
I heard of it.. been passing on it for awhile.
Thanks for watching.
I'm impressed. Looks very well done all the way around. Those multi-row bearings aren't cheap. And the tuning board. Wow. I'm sure it is M390. Rattlesnake wouldn't put their name on it if it wasn't legit. Some of the companies over there doing clones are doing unbelievable work. This is what happens when they use their powers for good.
They did a lot right with this knife and like I said as soon as I had it in hand it was obvious that time and effort went into designing this knife. I was really happy I decided to get one.
Nice find
It really was a very surprising find made me excited to see more knives with these tuning board things as I think most people wanted a factor for the sound but not factor had it so this gives u that every time u close it and open it they just need to refine it to where it’s a super satisfying ting.

Alright, since I own both an Oz & Jufule Rosie & have modded both, I suppose I'd better weigh in: Pretty much everything you say about the clone in this video, in my experience, is true. I only regret that I haven't carried it much yet so I can't confirm how well it holds an edge. But based on your report & how it felt to sharpen, I feel safe in assuming the heat treat is good. Let me give the folks here some perspective on this clone - the first notable thing about it for me was how tight the tolerance is for the stop pin. Even after disassembling this knife about 4-5 times, I still have to pry the scales apart to separate one side from the stop pin. And when reassembling, I've had to use non-marring pliers to squeeze the scales back together. I got the radial frag version, & right off the bat I thought it was weird the clip & backspacer weren't also anodized that pale blue. So, I anodized them to match. My Jufule Rosie arrived with perfect centering, zero play in any direction, & medium-shake shut action, all pretty much equal to my true Rosie. The radial frag milling looks indistinguishable from the milling on the true radial Rosie I had a while back. The chamfering around the handle provides ergos absolutely identical to the real thing. Even the hardware is good, with deep tooling to provide great grip. The clip has two milled nubs instead of separate posts to keep it locked in place after putting in the clip screw, which I actually prefer over the Oz Roosevelt. And yes, the clone does have two ceramic detent balls like the real one, a feature I could easily have seen them skimp over for simplicity's sake. But Jufule didn't, so well done there. When I received it, my Jufule Rosie's biggest weakness was the detent as I received it new from Jufule. The detent was extremely light (but in fairness my last brand-new Rosie also had a pretty light detent, too). But after tightening the lock bar tension a couple times, it now deploys with a really satisfying snick. It's definitely not the same crisp feel & abrupt chock sound as the true Rosie, & the lock bar is ever so slightly harder to push. And there are a few minor differences like the clone's plunge grind being curved instead of a straight drop & the swedge being slightly thicker than the true Rosie's. But overall the quality is out of this world for the $90 I paid for mine new. What you say about the blade doing that click when the blade is halfway closed also happens on my instance. That doesn't happen on a real Rosie. The two detent balls subtly hand off the detent track from one to the other, which creates that smooth ride to the single click when it locks open or when closing. HOWEVER - The Jufule Rosie mimics this pretty darn closely. So yeah, taking everything into account, you have one knife that's around $800, & a $90 copy that costs roughly 9% of the genuine version. And the clone scratches about 90% of that itch for me. A fact which, if I'm being honest, over the past couple weeks has had me considering whether or not I want to keep my true Rosie. I haven't yet made a decision, though, so for now the true Rosie is safe, haha. But yes, handling them side-by-side, I do find myself thinking, "Dude, seriously? These are SO close to one another. I could sell the Oz & use that money for something more productive, like buying more knives." Now, I haven't bought a lot of clones the past few years. Even now I own just a few, & moving forward there are only a handful of brands I'd really consider buying: Hilberg, Kanedeiia, Green Thorn, Jufule, Hifinder, Vespa, & possibly a couple others if the manufacturing is high enough quality. I generally feel better about buying them if I know I've already helped support the genuine maker. But I definitely don't believe that's something you have to do. Just figured I'd mention that. It's definitely amazing what companies like Jufule can accomplish for the price nowadays. Of course, I'll always support the genuine makers whenever possible, & though I don't buy exclusively USA-made knives, I do take pride of ownership with the knives in my collection that were made here.
@@pateralus9 thank u for posting that here. I sent in an spk to apex alchemy and he has a video on his channel doing the hrc test it was a 60.5 same with the lemifshe mcnees 3” which I can say is a better made clone than the jufule 3.5 imo anyway. I really appreciate u taking the time to post that about the fosie and Rosie. My stop pins r both tight but I can pry it apart without tools and it goes back together just fine but it is for sure tight I’ve heard others complain about that as well. Lock bar disengagement on my pj copy is fine but not so much on the radial which is stiffer to disengage. My detents were also light very light luckily u can move the lock bar and greatly improve the action. I’ve ordered a set of skiffs and they should be here soon but I’m not holding my breath as to how much it will improve the drop. I’m prob going to send in a fosie to have the hrc tested as well just to see where it’s at but it does hold an edge just as good as my spk clone imo. I wonder if the new batch he just listed will be better like the spk was because the spk was greatly improved from batch 1 to batch 2 better plunge better action more refined over all. Again thanks for commenting. 👍
Hell yeah!! can’t wait to hear your full thoughts! I’m jealous man 🤘

@ ohhhhh sooner than I expected 🤣 damn it that’s gonna be a late night purchase this weekend, I can feel it in my bones.
@ lol I hear u. Hey will let me know if my mcnees spine whack video is to harsh???
@@SteelAddicted for sure dude! I’ll leave some feedback for ya 🤘
Hey there! I also just got an unmilled batch 2 of these, & the detent was extremely light on mine. I don't know how the previous owner could deal with that, maybe that's why they sold it in the first place, haha. But I was able to bend my lock bar over quite a good bit, & now there's about the same mild lockstick as before (improved with a bit of Sharpie on the lock face), but the detent is SO much better. I honestly feel like the detent could be even tighter yet, but it's good enough where it stands I'll quit while I'm ahead. But yeah just thought I'd mention I had no issues whatsoever with tighening the lock bar by probably 40% from when I received the knife. Thanks for the info!
I finally wired up the courage to move over my daughters copy the one in this video and ur right I was able to improve it greatly and I used the sharpie method like u said and it worked I had tried using graphite from a pencil but that didn’t work. Thanks a lot for the info much appreciated.
Thanks for sharing. Ive always felt it was a necessary evil for someone in the communinty to be educated on the fake stuff. If for no other reason than to let the rest of us know wjat to look out for. These fakes are getting scary good. It used to be easy to throw shade because they were so obvious ...not so obvious anymore. The biggest problem woth them getting this good...is that if 70% of people eho were considering buying a real mcnees ....decided that this knife was good enough....mcnees goes belly up. He loses his livlihood and we lose a knife maker. Ill be the first to say...there just isnt a way for the small guys to compete with this stuff...on the other hand...i make knives , if i ever get to the point where i can find a fake of one of my knives...im gonna buy one 😂😂😂
Nice to hear ur take on it. I think once a knife maker reaches the success that warrants a clone of there model the clone almost brings them more recognition and sales because if its good enough to be cloned it almost elevates the statues of the og. That being said I’ve seen them clone some knives that r way off the beaten patch like the squirrel master xl. It’s almost like the owner bought a real one and said fuck it let’s make a clone just because we can. In that case I’d say it’s an issue but the real versions of those r usally true customs and so at that point we r talking about a different audience and price for the og. Idk I’m conflicted part of me likes to think if the midtech production knives (oz machine, mcnees, spk) we’re more fairly priced and readily available (mcnees shouldn’t be included here I think they r pretty fair and available) then they wouldn’t get cloned or if they did the clones wouldn’t sell like they r. The Rosie clone has sold over 700 units last I checked it will be in the thousands soon. If oz wanted to they could have released a budget version of the Rosie but what r they going to do charge 450 for g10 scales and 14c28n? It just wouldn’t sell but people r happy to over pay for the ti and super steel. I say over pay but the equipment to make these folders is astronomical I’ve done some pricing and a run down of some of the actual machines in there shops ur talking $100,000 plus easily maybe pushing 2 depending on the models and how new they r. So when u start factoring in that plus if the maker wants this to be their real job and not a secondary hobby just to live decent u need $30 an hour imo if u own a house and have a mortgage in today’s economy. So idk is $600-$900 to much for a usa made midtech maybe but not by as much as I’d probably like to think. Then again abw and trm put out some great usa made gems for under or right at $400 so I just don’t know. I do know if people feel like there over paying for a name and that same company is creating scarcity with there product by not meeting the demand it’s prime real estate for a cloner to come in and make bank. I like many people just want to be part of the crowd we r sheeple and sheeple do sheeple shit.
@@SteelAddicted I feel all of thos to my core. I easily have 10 grand in my silly little shop and it isn't fully functional. I need another 10 grand to be able to make a knife from start to finish without leaving my shop. I'm picking up what you're putting down.
@ man just buying a true cnc machine like haas vf series or fanuc robodrill ur talking big money and that’s just cnc not including a cnc lathe, laser engraver, grinders, sand blasting station, tumbling set up and any other stuff I’m missing. Of course these items are bought little by little and u up grade along the way but I think people see a fixed blade and assume a folder wouldn’t be much harder to produce. Which from what I’ve gather couldn’t be further from the truth no offense as I know u make ur own fixed blades and I am in no way trying to take anything away from what u make they r beautiful and time consuming in there own ways, but to achieve the quality and action to charge $700 for a folder and be able to simi mass produce them this is what it takes.
@SteelAddicted right, no offense taken ! Fixed blades are definitely easier to make by hand but both can be. Still need those bead blasting stations , tumbling stations, mills , drill press, band saw, 2x72 grinders. Big wheels , small wheels , heat treat oven, plates stainless steel wrap...price all that stuff too. 😎🤘
@ yeah after all that it’s no wonder knife designers just turn to china to make the damn things for them. Lol. I’m telling u it’ll shed a whole new light on ur perspective for people who make things buy hand or with cnc and makes me respect the craft more and more. I think like metal complex has said it’s easier for people to distill things down to there simplest forms and rationalize them that way, instead of stepping back and taking the time to work through it and break down everything that goes it the item ur saying isn’t worth said price tag. But u know to a lot of people a light is on or off. Something is or it isn’t. That knife is worth x that knife isn’t. I’d be a hypocrite if I said I wasn’t guilty of that line of thinking myself from time to time.
I remeasured behind the edge thickness and its 20 at the belly and 25 twords the tip.

@@EDC_DRE this one is the version 1 so from his first batch. It has a weaker detent and the plunge wasn’t as good on this first run one. I still enjoy it but it’s def a light detent
I should have said I bought this one like 6 months ago. If u r to buy one I’d go for the newest version he has the nature grip in grey or the all grey with grey hardware and clip. That way u know it’s from the latest batch and the detent and plunge should be good
@ I ordered that one waiting on it currently from what you let me know in your other vid 🙌🏻
@ which one this one? The same one in the video
@@EDC_DREI just checked I guess he made more of this version as well cuz now it’s listed with the other 2 newer ones and the blue ano which is out of stock so I’d assume any version u ordered would be the new run either way I like this one to it’s just not as snappy as my blue nature grip.
Nice
First
FerretChloride has a great video comparing the fosie to a real Rosie I recommend everyone check it out.
Shame on you for showing fakes!! Would you please let me know when they are back in stock?
Lol yeah I'll try to remember it should be within about 2 weeks I've been checking in with him he told me 1st or 2nd week of January. I think he's making a skeltonized version and more like these 2. I hope he has more than 400 this go round as he will sell as many as he can make I imagine.
@@SteelAddictedthank you so much sir
I just talked to him new Rosie's should be available on 1/2/2025
@@SteelAddicted great, my late Christmas present. Thank you so much!
They are back in stock
Man they do these in 154 now? Still for under $100? Friggin wild. Sucks I missed them. They sell out so fast. It would be awesome if he did the XL next.
@@jdisdetermined I’m pretty sure lemifshe is working on an Xl version should be out within a few months. New reg Rosie should be out in a few weeks
@SteelAddicted That would be awesome. But now I'm second guessing because I'm a shake shutter and I hate finicky reverse detents lol... I handled a Rosie at a show and it was wonderful to shake close.
@@jdisdetermined yeah this is not as smooth as the real FerretChloride made a video comparing both of them the fake vs the real and that was his biggest take away was how smooth the real is
They are back in stock right now.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's a fantastic knife especially for the $120 they go for.
How long did it take to get ?
@@EDC_DRE 3 weeks around about
@ I ordered the newer ones he had on there that is all grey nature grip we’ll see when it shows up
@ I really really like mine and I just sent one to have an hrc test done on it along with the lemifshe mcnees 3 inch and some other knifes to UA-camr alchemyapex so we will see if his hrc rating is accurate it was a batch 1 that I sent him of the spk I shipped it out today
Do you know if they're are upcoming sales and what the coupon thresholds are?
@@SevrSevn they usually have a new years sale. But as far as like the next really big sale with really good coupons I think it’ll be in march. U can try to google AliExpress sales calendar and see what u come up with. I do know the next batch of Rosie should be coming in the first half of January I know he’s doing a skeleton version for sure.
New rosie 1/2/25
@@SteelAddicted upgraded model or different styling?
@ not sure if it will be upgraded per say but on the spk each batch seems to have gotten better so better detent a little smother more refined imo.
Very nice. I’m consistently impressed with their quality. Ts344 was the only exception and even that was a very simple fix and then it was great again.
