No it ain’t a stupid question. We have a court set out that looks similar to something like a shotput court. Then have lines going across from 180 yards up to 280 yards in 20 yard intervals. Then when the leads in the ground we use tapes to measure to the court lines to get the casters distance.

Well everyone of those men deserve a pat on the back a struggle to reach 90 never mind 200 plus 👍👍👏👏👏

There’s plenty of tutorial videos on UA-cam helping anyone starting to cast. Check out djmonix or overshegoes for tips. I may look at doing a video that gives people advice on the mechanics of a pendulum. Also recommend try everything without the haste of hitting the lead. Just practice swinging the lead

I use to own a pair of m sports. Personally for casting on a field finding a rod that works with you is the key. There’s plenty on the market that don’t break the bank and give you what you require. I found the m sports over time became a bit limited on there ability. I use akios tournos and love them for field reels. With improving your distance on the field has given some advantages with fishing espeically if you have structure that requires a better cast to clear. I personally use century t1000 but brands like akios, zulcron and tronix all produce rods that are a fair amount and all have potential to put a lead over 250 yards

@KernowAngler thanks man, I don't know swimming and thus water deep entry is avoided due to safety reasons and we have shallows with dropoffs mostly 100 meters and above range and on dropping tide it becomes of utmost important to reach that drop off.... fishes are big like gts, stingrays over 50kg, groupers 20 kg + frequantly caught, snappers, Big barramundi, cobias at times, spanish mackeral and queens.some times I did use the live bait sliders and in the end you have to learn to cast far.... that's the point.... I could cast on field around 110m with hockey ball.. so could bend a bit the m sports match... In mid range kindly advise good rods and reel specific models to look for in mid range. The issue is can't hold the rod to get the feel...thanks.. would appreciate if you could kindly recommend 3 rods and reels order wise to look for.

Zulcron xt lite. Akios creed. Very good rods for larger fish. Reels if look at penn fathom casting specials. Or even fix spools like bg 6000-8000 or penn spinfishers

​@@KernowAnglerI surf fish here in the OBX (outer banks) NC. I use a Penn Prevail 12 foot rod, with a slosh 20 Diawa reel. Alot of people use the newer versions of Diawa reels.

I use to do the high swing but couldn’t get the timing right. So played around with flat arc. Can create more lead speed with ease. Since casting my casting for tope fishing has improved greatly. 7oz and baits smashed out to the horizon

@@KernowAngler I'll have to have a go..used to cast at n.w.s.a and always did shit with high swing till purglas Pete told me to practice with 200g and slow down 👍 just getting back into it now and doing 180/200 m on a good day..put a half a maccy on I'll do 90/100m ..that's with 9oz to stop the wobbling through the air😁no splashdowns.. impact shields so I can use a 6/0 meat hook on the bottom and a circle at the top 👍
