Bergen and Weighted Fitness: Multi-system Taxing
Why
Awesome 👍
Overpriced with bs promises go fuck your self
I'm your niece Isla
Great video, Nick. From my experience; definitely a good move to keep the core meds (usually 2 paracetamol and 2 profen are essential for a strained/broken leg on your own and if you're lucky, some codeine, and obviously the mil med pack) in the top pocket and essentials such as warm emergency clothing in the sides. Main bit should contain the core kit. Everyone does it slightly differently but it's quite a strategic art how you pack your bergen. Personal survival is something a lot of people take for granted. The Bergen provides that.
What is your favourite Make?
How many mins per mile are you doing here?
A "commando" without a weapon? That would be useful. 🙄
Yeah, next time put the 8 months of sh** and injuries in before attempting it.
I wouldn't do LSD while exercising ;(
Awesome 👍
This is all good stuff! Giving me inspiration, thank you 👍
Thanks Nick, good stuff 👍
Thank you I'm certainly listening with interest
Is that race done on the actual 30 miler course? Officer or nod course
Lets see how progressive my run will be on 2023 paras 10! Thanks for the tips !
Brilliant advice. Thank you.
Great comments, Nick. Thank you.
"Good quality military grade one" - So a good quality one or a military grade one? XD
Thank you. Sir
Great video. I completed my 1st P10 this year (2022) and I definitely went off to quickly, the temperature didn't help either! Anyway, lesson learned, I'll be more prepared next year
ρ尺oΜ𝐎ᔕᗰ 😏
Did my first bleep test for the police 4 months after breaking my back in two places. The pace and running was okay but the turns were excruciating. Could feel my back clicking/grinding. Had to bail at 6.7.
What are you waffling about? Danny Rae won the '21 (and '22) Catterick TAB not you. You were 10mins behind him. Big timing appears to be your only winning attribute.
Wish I saw this 6m ago. Its 2W before the Fan Dance and been doing training (30km-45km per week). However, I do load bearing training with 15kg and my foot tendons fuck up and can't train for a week (1w on, 1w off). Gonna do my last training this week then rest as much as possible so minimise injuries for the day....any advice?
Love your commentary on these vids Nick, no nonsense
Sass is what you put on your chips .. its SAS., Special Air Service or “The Regiment “ 🤫
On the van
Inspiring stuff. Thank you.
What day sack is that looks like a short back but I can’t quite tell
It’s a short back Bergen m8 with modded front pouches
Thank You Mate
That takes some serious practice.
Hi nick could you give a breakdown of what you keep in front pouches, got jist of what’s in other pouches/main sack thx?
I've really benefitted from your videos Nick, thanks so much for these
Great video. What website do you recommend for a military bag??
Train Hard, Fight Easy. Don't worry, it won't hurt once the pain's gone.
Do you have a link where I can get some of those dry bags that you have?
Love the content Nick, but I'm straining to hear you. It's very echoey and boomy. A lav mic would improve your videos100x.
Hi good video thanks for sharing, just signed up to winter fan dance February 5th 2022 can’t wait 💪🥾
My 95% is 110% LOL.
What kind of drybag? I can’t make out what you say, speaking too fast?
Hi m8 they and forces use the ortlieb 79 or 109L heavy duty black canoe bags for sleep bag and bivi bag in Bergen, I use 79 L and plenty big enough and if you need smaller ones for other pockets buy cheaper lightweight ones is all you need
Thanks! 😎
I did this 30 mile yomp over Dartmoor carrying a 56lb bergan and a rifle a lifetime ago to to complete qualication as a Royal Marine Commando, and I still have nightmares about it.
This is why we are the best.
Cheers Nick
cheers nik
Some great advice here - thanks @eliteoutdoorfitness. Do you have any decent lower back stretches? I'm having to take time out from poor admin in this area - any advice would be great.
I still think the old Alice pack takes some beating, the only bad point is it metal frame ,is not the most robust on Para drops. The SAS Bergen metal frame is good, never seen a broken one yet !
Hi nick different question to this video but you use a short back for running, is that making you take the weight on your shoulders more with hip belt higher up or do you still get support to take weight off shoulders, I’m 6 ft non military my sons are and I’m in process of buying modded plce and your advice be good thanks, not for running but long rucking and bushcraft/wild camping?
Hi Mick, I'll jump on this question for Nick! So with a Military type Bergen you want the weight on your shoulders! Heavy kit Close to your back! I use My old issue short back Bergen for Running, Yomping, Expeditions and Bushcraft!! I'm 5.11! Hope this helps.... Andy 🤟
@@Wildernesswarriorbushcraft thx for reply buddy I hear long and short from people but that makes sense m8 thx👍
THIS COST SO MUCH AN THEY ALL WAYS DONT COME WITH THE SIDE POUCHES TO GET IN THE U.S. WE DO HAVE A LARGE SELECTION OF MILITARY BACKS BUT THEY DONT COME IN JUNGLE CAMO ANY MORE AN THATS THE PROBLEM. ITS REALLY NOT THE PACK ITS WHAT COLOR YOU CAN GET IT IN AN JUNGLE CAMO IS VERY POPULAR IN THE U.S. AN OUR MILITARY DONT USE IT MUCH ANY MORE. THATS WHEN THE BERGEN AN LOWES ALPINE PACKS COME IN. TRUST ME THERE A LOT OF AWSOME U.S. MILITARY PACKS BUT IN THE WRONG COLOR. A HAVE AN CFP-90 MILITARY PACK CHECK IT OUT AN IT WILL GIVE ANY BERGEN PACK A RUN FOR ITS MONEY.
Hi mate, when she said "642" after you told her the grid ref, what does the 642 mean? Thanks
