Life is an adventure. It is important to explore the world around us as much as possible. Armed with an American Airlines credit card, an 80 Series Toyota Land Cruiser, and a Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled, El Pollo Blanco will bring you along as he quenches his thirst for adventure and experiences. I can assure you, these videos will not be the highest quality, and there are a thousand adventure channels already, but who cares, follow along with a fun loving guy that doesn't know what he's doing.
Shuteye Peak 4x4 OHV Trail
Shuteye Peak OHV Trail is located about 10 miles outside of Bass Lake California. It is an amazing 6.5 mile trail to a spectacular landscape with breathtaking views for the entire ride. As far as trails go, this is one of the most rewarding ones I’ve done in the Sierra National Forest area. For this trail I brought my buddy Cesar and his family along in his brand new Jeep Gladiator Overland sitting on a 2.5" life and 37" tires. We had a great time.
01:04 Central Camp Road
03:10 Shuteye Peak Trailhead
08:55 Switchbacks and Climber's Rock
15:17 Shuteye Peak
I would consider this to be a moderate trail compared to some of the trails I have done. If you have done the main trail at Bald Mountain, this one is very comparable.
My ride for this overlanding trip was my 1997 Toyota 80 Series Land Cruiser (FZJ80), Eli. Eli has stock electronic lockers and several aftermarket upgrades and add-ons including an AOE front bumper, a 4x4 Labs rear bumper, custom rock sliders made by Cesar at AAA Muffler and Fabrication in Hanford, CA, a heavily modified INTI roof rack, and a Roam Adventure Co. rooftop tent. It’s rolling on General Grabber ATX 315/75R16 wheels.
I’d like to thank Dillon Chevalier for his permission to use his music in this video. Make sure to check him out on Spotify at the link below, or any other place you enjoy music. I’d also like to thank Cesar for bringing his awesome truck and amazing family on the ride. Trails are always better with friends. See his social media Links below. If you’re in the Central Valley, be sure to stop by AAA muffler in Hanford for him to do some work for you.

Bald Mountain OHV Off-Road Made Easy - Bow Tie Trail
Переглядів 18 тис.4 роки тому
The Bald Mountain OHV complex just outside of Shaver Lake, California has several trails. A Facebook user requested the easiest way to the top, and I believe I've found it. Utilizing the Bow Tie and Tower trails, just about any four wheel drive, and some two wheel drive, vehicles can make it to the top. The Bow Tie trail is very easy, Tower trail offers a slightly tougher terrain, however most ...
Red Lake OHV Overland Off-Road Trail
Переглядів 4,1 тис.4 роки тому
The Red Lake/Red Mountain OHV Trail system is located about 15 miles outside of Shaver Lake. The Red Lake trail is about 2.5 miles one way and consists of several rock/boulder gardens that can be extremely challenging. Undercarriage armor and 35 inch tires are highly recommended, though I did the trails on 33 inch tires. The Red Lake Trail is the feeder trail for the much tougher Coyote Lake tr...

Family Adventure to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula
Переглядів 1484 роки тому
In 2019, the family and I took an adventure down to the Yucatán Peninsula. We fell in love with the place. If you ever go, make sure to rent a car and explore the area. There are so many great things to see if you leave the resort, and you find the best food out away from the hotels. Also, I'm trying to learn how to do this video making. I'll get better, I promise. Don't forget to the the likin...

Just got my Roam Adventure Co. Vagabond XL tent installed, and set up. This is my very first time packing it away. I can't wait to get this thing out on an adventure. It certainly feels like a quality piece of gear. Look out for a walk around and review shortly. Mineral King Road Hyperlapse
Переглядів 1,5 тис.4 роки тому
Since I purchased my Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled in July of 2019, I've wanted to take a ride up Mineral King Road into Sequoia National Parks Mineral King Valley. I finally had the opportunity to take the ride, and it was all I wanted and then some. My friend Mitch came along, and he really showed me the ropes of mixed sport riding. I invite you to download the GPX file for this ride below. As...
Have you ever done the Strawberry lake trail? is it the same trail, we are new to the area but we are looking to get back on the trail after a few years off.
Thanks been there numerous times but not in my chevy 1500 on 33s went with my buddy
Is the trail wide enough for a ford raptor?
Yo the algorithm is crazy hehe
What a awesome video ! Love your videographer skills ! Thank you sharing!
Really appriciate the video man! My brother-in-law got a rubicon. We are absolute begineers trying to get to the top of bald mountain.
If you would have turned left at the orange arrow wher would that trail take you to & is it a moderate trail?
Time to teach your wife to drive into Red Lake. If you ever break a leg on the trail, who else is going to drive out. The Dog? I'm not kidding . My significant other drives into Red regularly. Best she learn before you need her to, than after. And my S.O just reminded me, she's also driven to Coyote.
Is there trails for and are sxs allowed here?
Yes, Side by sides are up there all the time. Tons of good trails in the Bald Complex, though they're under about 30 feet of snot right now.
Wow, Red Lake trail looks pretty tore up in places. As most locals know, past Red Lake to Coyote Lake it gets very difficult. I don't think Coyote is as nice as Red, myself. My favorite camping spot at Red is where the two (?) fallen logs protrude into the lake. Nice video.
Coyote is extra tough. The gate keeper at the start is enough to keep most people out.
Just saw this video. Do you recall how long this took?
If I wasn't stopping to film this could be done in under an hour from the ski park.
I had the same question Thank you for the vid Im going up there with a few friends in a couple weeks I always heard this trail was rough but this video helped me see that is very duable
It was too bad that 3rd gen had that LBJ issue. Common problem with them. I replaced mine with OEM LBJs about a year ago.
Do you ever see any mountain quail up there?
Can I take my 2019 honda civic up there?
So excited to see some videography of the trails near where I live. I'm just a few miles down the road from the tavern but have never stopped in. I'll have to go get some food there sometime. I have a 91 ranger 4x4 and am hoping to explore more of the beautiful surrounding where I live and someday get ny vehicle capable enough to see this stunning lake. Thanks, and best regards.
My wife and I did the trail in a 4x4 Tahoe to the gate and walked the rest of the way. The guy in the tower took pity on us and gave us both a bottle of water for our return hike. What is the Orange Paint job? is that a no/low scratch finish on the vehicle? I have Sierra Pin Stripes on my latest 4X4 and would like to avoid them.
Nice! How did you get down? Sorry, I didn't see it on your Gaia map, not the same way down?
Great video
Did you attempt the trail going further up to coyote lake?
Thanks, this is very helpful. I had read about some areas going up that looked like they might be rough for my stock Rubicon, but that must have been a different trail. First time up this looks like a great route. Thank you for posting the map links.
Really enjoyed your video, It made my trip to Bald Mt so easy.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Going to do this trail again next month in my JLU Rubicon. did it about 4 years ago in my 2018 Cherokee trailhawk, had to be spotted most of the way up. great video
How do I access the trail files im having a hard time opening them
Almost all of my data go wiped from icloud for some reason. I'm working on finding a new solution for hosting GPX files.
Just bought a 22 Ford bronco do you think it will make it up here ? Your Toyota and my ford looks like they have about the same clearance
Is there an easier trail to get here ?
Nope. You get what you see.
Genuinely. How do you think a 03 pilot would do on bald, I’m on AT BFG tires. Iv taken it on quite a few mountain trails. She’s never gotten stuck or really struggled tbh
Last trail I did before moving to Idaho to stay three years ago. . I heard some idiot burned the tower down.
Are you able to camp at the top?
Land of many uses.
Very helpful. Is 09s02 marked? I saw the sign in the video for bald mtn so maybe that’s your cue to turn. On Gaia it looks like it’s 2.2 miles from the trailhead but I think you said 3.5 miles in your video.
Made it up with my 2WD Tacoma so the trail is super easy!
You follow the same trail he did? I plan to go in my 2WD Ranger
How did u make it up there on a 2wd tacoma? I just went on Saturday with my Sierra at4x and my friend took his 4 runner with a 3inch lift and 33” tires. It was super hard but i dnt see how a 2wd can make it all the way up to the top.
@@rubencastano6771 Literally just don’t be a bitch and haul ass up that’s how I got up there 😂 momentum was key 🔑 and I’m not calling you a bitch just in general! I take the truck to king of the hammers every year and I never get stuck. Just have to air down and go. I have it built like a prerunner with the front and back bumper with mid travel running the fox 2.5s with the adjustable knobs.
@@rubencastano6771 I’m also running like a 3.5 inch lift on the Foxes with 33 toyo Mts
@@chrisplata9231 ok that makes a lil more sense. 😃
What would be a good trail to bald mountain in a utv? Planning a trip out there. First time going
My first ever Rocky trail climb. I actually managed the trip in a stock 2001 Dodge Dakota Quadcab 4x4 with 30 inch tires. It was a bit tricky and tested my rookie abilities. It's a pretty heavy truck, but my wife and I did it. What beautiful views, and a sense of accomplishment.
Are dirt bikes aloud there. I’m going tomorrow
Is there a road/ trail from the Sierra senic byway above mammoth pool's down to the san Joaquin river?
Thank you for this and I shared this with everyone I talked too about this! Ok, I wish you'd do the same for on the way down. I know you shared in the gpx file but having the quick video is awesome for planning. Thanks for awesome video.
Now you said at 4:40 mark "if I'd take a right back there would of been an easier". Like stock '10 Honda CRV get to the top how easier? Lol. I have a dual sport motorcycle and planning to ride that up but want to take a wifey up so I need to drive. Maybe I need to rent a truck for this?
Awesome video!! Is there a good camping site near by, or any dispersed camping around the trail?
Good chance for new comers to get their jeep dirty, start learning how your vehicle works, drop tire pressure, play on some easy obstacles.
Wow thanks for sharing. I have a sxs and I want to check out this trail. Thank you!
Going up to Bald next weekend 👌🏼
can stock truck make it up there?
Thanks for making this! I'm a long way from home, unfamiliar with the area, and was looking for a trail to take my BIL out for his first taste of offroad in his Tacoma. This was perfect with an epic view at the end. Thanks again.
Was going to do this trail, but forest ranger said the trails in footprint of the Creek Fire are closed for the time bearing. This was just last week I called the ranger station while doing research. Mid June of 2021 I called.
Really? I was on this trail about a month ago. They also just had Moonlight Madness last weekend.
That’s just what I was told when I called the ranger station. I could very well get 3 different answer from 3 different people but when I had called, that’s what they told me so I didn’t go.
jeep lööks half? decent ^^ bröken töyyöDäre? ? guess in YänklanD? some tiguän is kitz kärr xD
I'm making a guess that English isn't your first language. Where you from? Also, what is a tiguan?
Thanks for sharing
Hey buddy!! Haha great video 🤙🏼
Another great video sir. Can this trail be done without locker? I was planning to do this trail on my 02 4Runner with just standard 4x4.
I think you would be okay. Maybe take a buddy to spot for you around some of the steps near the top.
Trump
My Father, Brother and I drove this trail many times in the early sixties in my Dad's 41 willys stock. We would stay two weeks, climbed red mountain to look at west lake. Got in trouble for bringing bats back to camp in my tackle box.
honestly amazing video! I assume you are familiar with the trailsoffroad.com site but maybe you can submit the video to replace theirs as they allow community submissions! Your's is so much more informative and well documented than whoever recorded that older vide on a potatoe. If you live here in california do you think you can do strawberry trail? www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/2791-strawberry-lake-trail
I'm a card carrying member. They require semiannual trail runs which I honestly don't have time to do since I'm usually looking for new trails.
would a stock tacoma 4x4 make it up there same trail? thx
